BA Appliance Repair was sent to us through our home warranty company when our oven on our range…read morestopped heating. Repair guy seemed nice enough, looked inside and claimed our range was dual-fuel (I.e. stove was gas, oven was electric), and that BA didn't service these types. I was surprised - because although we didn't buy this appliance (we moved here less than 2 years ago), we always thought the unit was completely gas. Turns out we thought this, because it was completely gas. Confirmed by the repair guy who came from Day's, the appliance repair company that our home warranty company sent out when BA refused service. On a plus note, BA didn't try to collect a deductible for coming out (We wouldn't have paid it anyway if he did). But I'm not sure why the repair guy couldn't tell that our oven was in fact gas, or why they would make the effort to come out to refuse service to us. Have no idea what this was about. But I can guarantee I will ensure our home warranty company doesn't use these guys again for us, or we don't use them again on our own.

They called almost immediately and said they could get someone out the next day. Two service people very friendly and courteous people showed up at the designated time. I was told that I had a bad roller and a problem with the ignition switch as was quoted 575.00 for the repair. The service was to be completed Mon with a window of 330pm to 530 pm arrival time. At 306pm on Monday received a call that the part did not come in, 20 minutes before scheduled arrival! Service was then scheduled Tuesday. Tech showed, on time, a different person Chuck, friendly and courteous puts on the new roller and ignition switch and the dryer does not work. He says he will contact the office and they will call. He then tells me that he thinks it's a sensor issue. He left giving me no estimate. I called the office after an hour of waiting to be told they needed to speak to the manager. Another hour goes by and they called to tell me the part cost "worst case scenario" would be 1200.00 . They would refund the ignitor switch because that wasn't the problem. I declined...a brand new dryer of this type is 1300...I asked to talk to the manager who is on vaca until next week! I had given them a check for 250 for the 125 service call plus tax and half of the repair... i would not recommend this company.

I also have a problem with the ICE MAKER on my 3 year old LG refrigerator. That also was going to be in the hundreds of dollars to repair. I contacted LG directly about my problems and was told the Control Panel on the dishwasher was under warranty?? Why didn't Nick tell me that?. A-1 was prompt a coming out, knowing they would collect their inspection charge. After that, no help at all. I did contact A-1 and explained about what LG had said, but I received an explanation that they would have no way of knowing about the Warranty on the Control Panel. That shocked me because when I did my research and spoke to them (Tracy twice) I had read that they were a local LG representative.

My experience so far with this service has been great. They called this a.m. to remind me they would be at my house between 9 & noon (just like the cable company, huh?). Called again on the way to verify directions to my house. Two technicians arrived and took a look at my ice/water dispenser. The senior technician was puzzled by the problem with the dispenser and said he would order a new circuit board and hoped that would fix the problem. Both of the technicians were polite and they left a company magnet and letter from the company owner on the kitchen counter. They said they would call when the part arrives to schedule the installation.

This morning the part was installed and the washing machine is back to working order. I appreciate the helpfulness of the tech, and quickness or the repair! *One note: The tech was great, but kind of threw his tools around/dropped them instead of placing them on our wood floor. This was just a little thing I noticed as I was slightly worried about scratching/damage. Overall a great experience with this company however, and he did a great job fixing it!
