I called today for a consultation. Despite it being a holiday week, I was quickly put in touch with a knowledgeable legal assistant for intake. She got some basic facts from me and regretfully informed me that the statute of limitations had passed on the issue I was calling about after about two minutes. I really appreciate how this firm did not waste my time and connected me to someone knowledgeable from the get-go. I also really appreciated that she expressed sympathy for the death in our family and for the time limit to sue running out. I called another firm earlier where a secretary spent thirty minutes gathering data from me and she did not know that my chance to sue had passed. She did not express any sympathy for the death in our family nor for any of the rest of the traumatic story that she documented. So I'm glad that I called Buckfire, they saved me a lot of time and I appreciate the sympathy from the person I spoke to. read more

I completed an intake over the phone and was told I would receive an email with additional questions to answer. After waiting several days and receiving nothing, I called the firm back and was again told the email would be sent. I still have not received anything. If the firm was not interested in pursuing my mother's case, it would have been much easier--and more respectful--to simply tell me that directly rather than leave me waiting for follow-up that never came. read more

Not only was I treated like an insignificant nuisance since my not at fault/accident in July '21, they've been sitting on my settlement for over 3 months. They are not returning my phones calls, I get texts periodically saying 'soon' and 'working on it'....Highly unprofessional and frankly pretty shady. Wow! This is a record for being totally blown off!! I sent in an honest heartfelt inquiry about the accidental death of my Mother; and did I receive empathy, sympathy, guidance??? No, I was blown off because my case obviously wouldn't have made the firm $$$$$. This is the same reason I didn't file a lawsuit when my Mother was injured; and eventually died from her injuries. Be cautious when hiring this firm to represent you. They will pull a "bait and switch" and you will not end up with the attorney that you initially consulted with. Instead you will end up with an inexperienced attorney fresh out of law school that will completely botch your case. You will be responsible for doing your own leg work to pull documentation from government offices, contact the witness and follow up on the status of information requested from the other attorney. I was injured in a construction zone on a road in downtown Detroit in July of 2012. I signed the agreement with Buckfire and Buckfire shortly after my injury. It took almost a full year before they did anything with my case. When I would call to inquire I was told multiple times it had been passed to another lawyer within the firm. Finally it found its way to Robert Lantzy, who I will give credit for moving on it. However, do to the long stretch of time between signing with this firm and actually having something done with the case by the time the city of Detroit got to determining what my injury was worth ($75,000) they were filing for bankruptcy. Had Buckfire and Buckfire been prompt instead of waiting a year to work on my case it would have been closed before Detroit filed and I would have been able to pay the medical bills instead of having to file for bankruptcy myself. Now I get nothing for my injury and there biggest concern is that with my bankruptcy that they will still get their cut. I now have not heard a word from Buckfire and Buckfire in almost a year. That seems to be about how long it takes them to do anything. Thankfully I have found a decent Bankruptcy attorney who is also trying to help sort through this mess and save at least a small portion of what I should have been awarded. read more
