Lots of bureaucracy, they will not let you speak to an actual lawyer even after you have signed the documents hiring them and given them your Soc. Also, the gatekeepers at the phone lines are quite rude once they have your paperwork. (They spoke rosily before that). I'd leave zero stars for this firm if I could. And if someone from the firm leaves a response to my review, don't believe a word they say. I had my attorney switched 3 times during the process of waiting for a hearing. I won my case, not because they are good at what they do. I won because my case was an undeniable win. 25 months after my case was won, I received my first disability check and a few weeks after that I received the first installment of back pay. I received a second installment of back pay in February. Now the SSA wants me to give them a check for $5,000 because they said was overplayed. The attorney who was completely unprepared at my hearing, Jason S is no longer with the firm (or so I've been told). So, there's no one to ask why I was overpaid. I'm sure the firm got their money though. That's all they care about. In the interim of all of this, someone at Levine Benjiman named Maurice contacted me with some very confusing information about Medicare. He made claims that if I took $160 less every month from my disability check, I would receive better benefits from the government. My disability check is now $1,300 instead of $1,460 and I've yet to determine what type of "extra help" I'm getting. That $160 that I'll be losing every month is going into someone's pocket at the firm. Maurice is a con artist who will spin you into circles and then tell you that you are stupid for not understanding why he's getting your $160 every month. Stay VERY far away from these people. It's a complete circus. They don't give a crap about their clients. They just want their cut of the money that you'll wait over 2 years for the government to pay you, and then they'll want to take another $160 a month from you for the rest of your life. read more

I knew I would love this firm when Gary Bimberg refused to take my case until I had gotten a denial letter from SSA. He didn't want me to have to pay if he did nothing. He told me to call him if and when I got said letter. The day I got it, I called and Gary took it from there. I got denied again. But we filed for a hearing. Before the hearing ever happened, the judge made his decision and approved me saying he couldn't understand why I had ever been denied. From beginning to end, I felt important. I was a client for Levine Benjamin with a Summer 2023 hearing date. Donald Busta talks well on the phone, but it feels like they spent far too little time on my case. I waited months between contact points with the firm and only discussed my case the day before my hearing. We only talked about how I should personally describe my case myself and a work history question. Be aware my medical history has thousands of pages, as I'm a 100% P&T VA-rated veteran. Not knowing the process, I thought everything would run smoothly. After my case was denied, I briefly talked with Mr. Busta about appealing the decision. I agreed. A day or two later, I called his office to request a detailed discussion about the appeal process and to go over the nuances of the case. The following week, I called to follow up. His secretary said she filed the appeal that morning. I was dismayed because I found out that the appeal did not outline any discrepancies between my medical history and the administration judge's gross misinterpretation of my medical data. For example, my court decision had language claiming that I was female when I was a man. It also claimed that I have had no behavioral health treatment when I have had extensive treatment, which is one of the primary reasons I am 100% P&T V.A. rated. During my call, I learned Mr. Busta was on vacation that week. If no notes were attached to the appeal, I noted that the process felt lackluster and lazy for the appeal. His secretary took it personally, stating she filed the appeal and was not lazy. She hung up on me. The following week, I had numerous medical appointments due to my deteriorating medical and mental health. This included severe S.I. When I was stable, I called the office of Levine Benjamin to follow up. I was told that Mr. Busta was in a hearing, and I asked if he was available the following day. His secretary said to me that I would get a call shortly. Two days later, I received a USPS-secured letter that my wife signed stating that I was dropped as a client due to the appeal being denied, and Mr. Busta was not confident in my case. I'm frustrated that I've wasted two years of my life on SSDI when, statistically, my life expectancy is much shorter than the average American. The day I received the letter stating that my case was dropped, I tried to call the Levine Benjamin office but was repeatedly told that my case was closed. I'm at a loss. My mental health symptoms are deteriorating. I honestly can not recommend the law firm Levine Benjamin at this point. Updated: I did have a 9 min conversation about my case with Mr. Busta after I sent him this review over email. Basically, all the time effort I put in is a wash. I would avoid hiring Mr. Busta. I'm a client of levine Benjamin . The original attorney assigned to my case left the firm. I had a hearing set for December 22 or January 23 that has came and went and I didn't receive an update from my attorney. After several days with no update, I contacted the office and was told that someone would get back to me. A few days later I received a call from a different attorney explaining that my previous attorney was no longer with the firm. This is a week or more after my hearing date. I asked the attorney why wouldn't they inform me of this information and he told me that it was mailed that day. Very unprofessional. He then told me about another hearing date set for January 31,23. I then received a letter a few days later explaining that I was assigned a new attorney as the previous attorney was no longer there along with a letter stating a hearing for February 7,23 but no information about the January 31 hearing. Today is February 15 and I have yet to receive any information on my case other then I have a control hearing on the 7th of February and that the receptionist would give the message and after getting the voicemail leaving a message. This doesn't feel like this is how a client has to reach out to the firm who is representing them. I can only rate them on my experience to this point and they are doing a horrible job communicating with me after being appointed a new attorney. And so far no rating eou be given or a negative one. I have to leave a rating in order to post this review. This has been a long ,mentally stressful and painful process for me and I hope with the appointment of a new attorney it doesn't continue to be this way. read more

I recently hired this law firm to represent me at a social security hearing and a month before the hearing I was informed that my original attorney was not available and I had to partner with a new attorney. I had a total of three conversations with this attorney one conversation was to inform me that he needed my medical records, the second conversation was to go over what to expect at the hearing, and the third converstaion was after the case was over I had a few questions about the case and he explained to me that he never recieved any communications from SSA. I talked to the paralegal more than I talked to him and I did not retain the service o the paralegal I hired him. The case moved slow at first due to filing during Covid-19. Seemed like months went by without word. Finally had a hearing on June 1 2022. The judge ruled in our favor. A month later the review board overturned the judge. We had a rehearing in February and we won again. My attorney Lorenzo was very polite and professional. Most importantly he won my case. But you have to watch out because they want try to take your whole check if they do get you approved after being there for the second hearing after they missed the 1st hearing by not showing up at all, they will bill you for even more then the 25% of your back pay for paper work processing fee's in other words they do not want to do no work but show up for the hearing and leave and get thousands of dollars for that then if they want you to get more paper work and they send for it You will have to pay them extra. Do not choose these lawyers! They do nothing but lie! I used them twice to try and get disability never in all that time did I ever meet or talk to the 2 men on their commercial like They say you will. They took forever and never were able to give me a good answer to my questions. The last time I went in front of the judge my lawyer was 30 minutes late and a different lawyer then I had been talking with. He knew nothing about my case and made us both look foolish. I did get my SSI with this firm, but I feel I was represented good at all, I was awarded the bare minimum, then they also blamed me for it say its what I said to social security office when I told them the same thing I told the office. I live in a boarding house and they made it sound like I live with some one. And also I feel like I did all the work, all the phone calls, never once did I get to speak with attorney always a assistant. I could have done all this myself. Very disappointed in this firm.
