I have lived in the area for 35 years and the best place to eat was always Buzz's-not anymore. Just had Friday night buffet-the gravy in the meatballs was gelatinous-couldn't even look at it. The always delicious chicken was dry. The hash brown casserole looks like it wasn't cooked. Very disappointing night-sadly, not sure I will visit again. Wing it Wednesday is a must if your craving wings, but they have changed it from unlimited to limited. Also Covid protocols are non existent at this establishment. We have chosen to go to other responsible businesses to quench our desire for wings. My wife is originally from the Buffalo Valley, so in the back and fourth between there, I've been to Buzz's twice. It's one of her grandma's favorite places to stop, and the food is a step up from the standard bar fair. The first time I stopped there I ordered a french dip with fries and an order of fried cheese curds for the girl. Her being bred to eat fried cheese (and still weigh less than half of what I do) meant she had no problems taking them down, I tried one, and it was certainly the best fried curd I'd had in my journeys to the midwest. The french dip was fairly standard, nothing was dry, and nothing disappointed. What really stood out was the second visit. My grandmother used to own a chicken delight franchise in Los Angeles about three ice ages ago, and I'd had the fortunate experience to have broasted chicken on a few occasions throughout my childhood long after she'd sold the franchise. If you don't know about broasted chicken, I've got a little knowledge for you: it takes less time to make than fried chicken, it's much much less fattening, it's juicier, and it's crispier. Basically it's fried chicken that's been banned from fried chicken competition for injecting itself with performance enhancing awesomeness. Buzz's nails their broasted chicken. Despite being a fish out of water whenever this tree hugging beach bum from Kommiefornia visits real life people, one bite and any transcontinental social rift quickly melted away along with the savory breading surrounding my chicken. I honestly couldn't tell you how good the fries or coleslaw were. I don't remember, and I don't really care. If you don't like the broasted chicken from this place, then I don't know how much I can really trust you. The staff was friendly, there was football on the tv, and the food came out hot and fresh. Since there's hardly anything in Mondovi, just go to Buzz's. It's worth it. read more

When my family visits Mondovi, we always end up at Buzz's for their delicious chicken. A nice thing about Yelp is that it can help out when you are in a strange town. It fits the bill well here. The chicken is broasted, but not greasy. It is moist, and is a local favorite. In fact, when I was back for my class reunion, the chicken served was from Buzz's. If you are from the area, you already know about Buzz's, if not, please enjoy it. The only negative is that like most eateries in the area, it is in a tavern so you will get the smell of old PBR. read more

We have been coming here for years and the food is always great. The Friday night buffet is easily the best around.

Great food, friendly bartenders, just a great place to go eat or socialize or both.

Huge fan of broasted chicken, it's on the menu, so I order a whole chicken with lyonnaise hash browns. Crispy broasted chicken skin with an amazingly moist juicy interior, yummy!! These guys got it going on and know how to broast a chicken. I don't see lyonnaise hash browns on the west side of the Mississippi. SO this was no brainier. The combination of onions, potatoes, and butter is worthy of a meal in it's self, and my portion was huge. It's came with a coleslaw that was crisp and had a mix of the mayo vinegar dressing. Almost wished they gave you more then a small scoop. But hey I ordered a whole chicken, so it wasn't necessary on my plate. I enjoyed a Leinenkugel Red Pale Ale only sold in Wisconsin and on tap. Paired amazingly with chicken and hash browns. My dinning companion had a Club sandwich. I reminded him that that is boring, "What? they have a great Club" is all I got. Then he disappeared to the gambling machines to lose $3. If I ever get back around this way I'll stop back in. I'm sure with the way everything tasted in my plate everything here is good. read more

The fried cheese curds were excellent, but definitely eat them while hot! Otherwise you're just eating breaded stryofoam. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was nothing to write home about, but definitely better than a stop at Mickey Ds. As a sometimes-a-tarian, I was pleased with my lunch overall. read more

Stopped in for a beer and nachos. The beer was cold and so were the nachos, so I told the waitress. She didn't comprehend cold nachos so I told her again and spelled it out. She didn't really get it but took the plate back to the kitchen. She returned a few minutes later and sure enough the small amount of meat on there was warm but the cheese and every thing else was still cold. I drank my beer and left without trying again to get the nachos right. read more

every time i eat here its just amazing and the even better the burgers are slended and so are the beer battered fries when i come in the waitresses are very respectefull and caring and when somthing goes wrong they take care of it right away. They bring out appetizers entree and any other food as soon as the are put in the window ready to serve. dont even get me started on the buffet it is all around amazing when they start to run low on any of the items they that item filled right away. The baked chicken and backed fish ammmmmmaaaaazzzzzing and i'd recomend to anyone for a try. they have shrimp freshly fried same to go with some of the best beer battered fried fish ive ever had if you like fish id absolutely have any one try. The salad bar has anything you can think of to go on a salad and it is really good. The atmosphere is filled with family fun, amazing smell of food and great music they have some games to play such as pool darts and a few slots machines really fun to play. As I sit and eat my meal the waiters make sure my drink is filled and everything is perfect to the customers satisfaction they will even chacnge the channel on the tv to make the people happy. the boss is very nice if there is a problem with your meal he makes sure that it is fixed right away. They seem fine. A bit salty, like all bar food. I wish they were not on board with shooting the pigeons. There must be a better way.
