Very sad you sit for 45 minuets and other people come in and get served before they ask you what you want to eat and drink.

I'm not sure what the rage is about this place. Maybe because Andrews has such limited options. We pulled up, no prices listed. I ordered the steak fingers. Service was fairly quick. $11 for the meal seemed high, but on par, I suppose, with all the other price gouging going on here. I paid with a credit card and there was no place to leave a tip... And apparently the owner refuses to make that change, which just tells me he/she doesn't want the headache and hassle of additional paperwork... Pretty lame, particularly for a "drive-in" with car hop workers. Now... The food. I ordered not knowing what I was getting, so when I pulled the basket out to a heaping pile of steak fingers, I was momentarily impressed. The French fries underneath were a bit soggy, but ok... The SALAD and toast located directly UNDER the fries...soggy and warm. Um... Yuck. The small container of gravy was either instant or canned... Utterly tasteless. The steak fingers had a good crunch, but likewise, were tasteless and bland. Even a little salt and pepper would have done wonders, or even some other spices. Unimpressed. read more

I had not been here in probably years until this past President's Day weekend. Now I remember why. The floor was absolutely filthy. When we walked in, we considered walking out. My wife and I went for lunch and shared the steak fingers. they were undercooked and had to send them back. Instead of making new ones, they just threw them back on the griddle and returned the original plate to us, from which we had taken bites. Not very sanitary. The restroom was very dirty and badly in need of cleaning. Don't let the quaint name fool you. The place was dirty and the food was not good. With so many great non fast food chain restaurants such as Little Taste Of Heaven among others that are both inside and outside of Andrews, I seriously regret giving this place another try. read more

Came here for breakfast on my way back to Albuquerque from Midland. Heard great things about their Steak Fingers, but opt'd for breakfast instead. Nothing special, but decent breakfast. Got coffee, but no creamer...the got my breakfast, but no ketchup. On top of that the dining area was pretty run down and kinda dirty. Knowing I was going to be on the road for a while I ordered up some Steak Fingers before I finished breakfast, couldn't pass up the opportunity, for the road later on. It took no joke, 45 minutes for them to bring it out. What I was hoping for a quick in and out breakfast (dining alone), but instead sat at my table waiting for over an hour, most of the time waiting for the steak fingers. I'll check this diner off of my list and will probably not come. Only come here if you are in no rush and are in good health. read more

Friends in Odessa couldn't believe I had never gone to Buddy's, so when passing through thought I would try it out. The steak fingers were okay slightly crispy and pretty tender, but they needed more flavor or just salt. The fries tasted like old grease, but if you dip them in ketchup or gravy you can't tell. Buddy's Drive In is the most amazing place I have been too. Buddy's steak finger are just so good that you can't stop eating them. The service was fast and the waitress was very nice she is very friendly and kind. The only thing I would wish for is that they make one in my hometown!! read more

Love Buddy's! We stop here every chance we get. Eat an order of steak-fingers in the dining room right out of the fryer, and a then get a couple of orders to go. Yeah it's a dive, that's part of the allure, but the steak-fingers are excellent and the portions are generous. The waitresses have always been nice and accommodating. They are always busy, though. Maybe the other reviewers that complain about the wait staff being rude actually expect their waitress to be at their beck-and-call throughout the meal. The ONLY complaint I have (actually my grandkids' complaint) is that smoking is still allowed at one table reserved for the locals. It's right by the entrance, so you have to hold you breath coming and going. read more

We enjoyed the steak fingers. They could have used some seasoning and the gravy is OK but definitely not homemade. Service was friendly but slow. The desserts were fresh and tasty. If I were passing through Andrews again, I would go back. read more

On the advice of a local I went there last night...never had steak fingers before so didn't quite know what to expect. Basically long tentacles of chicken friend steak. Came with fries and a side of white gravy. Very good comfort food - spent $15 but had enough food for two people. Go hungry or go with a friend! read more

This is probably the most famous place within 100 miles! Buddy's has the best steak fingers ever! If you get an order, two can share. Order an extra salad and an extra gravy. It's a very old place but that's the charm. Enjoy! read more

Buddys is one of the places in andrews you cant mess when u are in andrews it may not look like its much for the outaide but like the saying goes never judge a book by its cover you mught faw in love after all the way to the heart is with great food read more

Food was pretty good; Our group all had steak strips. But the customer service left a lot to be desired. The manager wouldn't even smile, much less speak. Being friendly is free lady!!!! She also did a lot of gossiping with some customers she knew. Definitely poor management. read more

Bad greasy food. Needs to learn about healthier and fresher food. I love burgers. But these are lousy and the waitresses are very rude and do not care you at all. Please avoid this place at all costs if you have to since the owners are rolling in their graves as I type this. read more

Buddys used to be great. I don't know what happened to them in recent years, but here's where we stand. Today I paid almost $17 for a large tea, a steak finger basket, and a tiny cup of Kraft Mac and cheese for my toddler. The Mac and cheese was a solid mass but at least it was warm. I made the order at 7:30 and they informed me that it would be a 45 minute wait. I pulled in at 8:20 and was completely ignored until after 8:47. I tried to call but they had already shut the phones down for the night. So I get home and of course the food is cold, except the toddlers boxed macaroni. There were exactly 7 fries, zero dressing on the "salad" which had nothing but iceberg lettuce. The meat was chewy and tough, and the toast was burned on one side and not cooked at all on the other. The tea was weak, but did taste fresh, so there's that. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. Save your $17 and go to Sonic, they might get your order wrong but at least if your food is terrible, well, it's sonic so your expectations were already low. And they give you ketchup without you even asking. read more

LOL when they say the best steak fingers...Old greasy, no flavor having tough steak fingers. Tried a breakfast sandwich and that was blah. Go with my boss to try a club sandwich that was a joke, 3 slices of bread, 1 slice of ham, lettuce, and tomato. I said I would never go back, so I said 3 time is a charm NOPE.
