Was repeatedly told over text message that my delivery was confirmed and a driver would call me an hour before. Instead I heard from no one for multiple hours, eventually someone from "customer service" made a lame attempt at trying to reach out and when I described the scenario never responded back to me. I got the name of this firm from Goodwill. We bought a new rug and wanted someone to take the old one. They suggested Buddytruk. I submitted a request. Received a call from driver/mover Cirilo within a minute or two, the driver said he was 25 minutes away. He arrived right on time. I gave him directions to get to our high rise. He a dolly and duck tape and had the rug loaded up in his truck within 5 minutes. The bill was the minimum charge. The rug was heavy--11 x 15. He managed it by himself. this guy was prompt, professional, polite, strong. Would definitely use him (and the company) again. Great experience. The driver/mover that fulfilled my job has been praised by others--completely agree. I had Cirilo and rate my experience highly. read more

Used for college student move in Austin. BuddyTruk was a good option for our basic needs. Our Buddy, Cirilo was friendly and professional, he showed up on time with all the tools needed to load a large sectional sofa and breakdown and load a bed that we moved into a temp storage location. Cirilo even went above and beyond, wrapping our furniture to protect it during the move. My other feedback is more related to the app/scheduling process. If you want to move an entire apartment, you would probably need to hire more buddies, since it seems that you get a buddy with a pick up truck, which is certainly not big enough for several pieces of furniture and boxes, that being said, the constraint within the app is that you can only schedule 1 buddy per move per BuddyTruk account, if you want to schedule more buddies for the same time frame, you have to set up fake accounts, this is a hassle - the desirable result would be to be paired with a buddy that has a large enough vehicle to transport all your items and perhaps request an extra helper within one single transaction. I would hire BuddyTruk again if I had a single trip in a pickup truck scenario. read more

WARNING: This company doesn't offer a reliable service. I used them once and it worked great - I submitted a request, a driver called me within 10 minutes and then did a great job, I paid in the app, easy peasy. Fast forward to last week when I thought hey, since that was so convenient last time, I'll use them for this furniture store pickup. Put in the request, got the confirmation, and waited. And waited and waited and waited. Fifty minutes later I texted customer service (they don't have phone/voice support). Then waited for them to get back to me. An hour and ten minutes after I placed my request, CS texted that they're 'backed up and can't give me an eta.' Super. So now we're stranded in the parking lot with our purchase. We waited another full hour - for a total of TWO HOURS of waiting for an ostensibly 'on-demand' service' - before giving up. Had to call a friend at work and inconvenience them. Lesson learned. Would not recommend. Poor customer service. Scheduled my delivery a couple days in advance and even if no movers picked it up, they should have been more responsive when i texted them. I figured the point of texting vs calling is its more convenient for them. They dont respond. Website also contains different error pages and needing two email addresses to schedule multiple buddies is odd and seems like it could be fixed to make it more convenient. read more

I bought furniture on Craigslist, installed the BuddyTruk Android app, and made a request to move the kitchen table/chairs home. My request was cancelled without any explanation after about six hours. Gave them another try because a neighbor had said they were terrific and my experience was unusual. So, we put in a request to move a sofa and were told after about 6 hours that "Due to the inclement weather, it may be a bit of a longer wait since most of our buddies drive pickup trucks.". While I do appreciate getting some sort of a response, the weather was near perfect that day with 0% chance of rain all day according to Weather.com. Perhaps their automated messaging needs to be tweaked. Regardless, I won't be giving Buddytruk another try. Too bad: good idea and horrid implementation. I bought a bed frame from Gage furniture but it was going to take about a week to get delivered. Ugh.. I didn't want to wait that long, so they referred me to Buddytruk. The employee explained that I could have it delivered within an hour or have it scheduled at a certain time. I checked out the website to get a quote and ended up creating an account to request a "buddy." Donovan gave me a call within seconds of posting! He was super friendly and made sure my frame was strapped on securely/wrapped up in blankets. Once I got home, he helped me carry all the pieces inside. Great experience with this company! Bought a very long and heavy tv console from Home Goods and they mentioned delivery with this company. My 16 year old got the app on my phone and within minutes someone contacted me for delivery. We didn't even have to wait in the store. Cirilo was our buddy and what a friendly guy! I have used buddy truck twice and have had a great experience. The buddies are extremely helpful and it's WYSIWYG(what you see is what you get). One thing to improve would be that after scheduling a delivery for a later time I got a notification saying that we received your request but there was no confirmation. When I reached out to find out what was going no one answers the phone you have to wait for a text back from some dude in California! He tells me the drivers are worried about the weather. I scheduled a delivery on Saturday, December 1. The store where he was to pick up my furniture is 4.9 miles from my house. They charge $1 per minute plus $1 per mile. My maximum charge should have been somewhere between $40 and $50. The delivery guy decided that driving 25 miles for 65 minutes was closer to my house than 4.9 miles. My charge came to $129 (about 2.5 to 3 times the estimate) because he couldn't locate my apartments. I even gave him the zip code which obviously didn't matter. I sent two e-mails on Saturday, one on Sunday, and two this morning without a response. I tried to call and they do not have phone support. As soon as I hung up on the call, I received a text response but when I told him I was disputing the charge, I received no further texts. I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card but it's still pending as of today and I have to wait until it's paid before disputing. I am so angry!!! I offered to meet the guy at the store and he said it wasn't necessary. read more
