Great, friendly, helpful, customer service. There were no dramas, no complications. Everything was…read moreso simple. I needed a car for a couple of days, while my own car was in the shop. I looked online for something cheap, and not too far from Adelaide. Many places won't put prices online, trying to get people to call them first, but Koala's prices were right there on their page. I rented a nice Hyundai for a measly $35 a day plus $15 insurance. Returning the car was just as straightforward, and the security deposit was back in my bank the next morning. I would certainly use this company again, and I highly recommend them.

Two friends and I decided it would be a wicked idea to road trip it to the Red Centre of Australia…read moreand because none of us have an outback faring vehicle we decided to head to Koala Car Rental for our transportation needs. We did A LOT of research into which company would be the cheapest, who offered the sort of car we wanted, and the easiest place to collect the car from. We turned our noses up at all of the major ones including Avis and Budget because of their prices and the fact they weren't crazy about having younger drivers (even though we were all of age to hire a car). And don't even get us started on Wicked Vans which are meant to be the most amazing company ever but would only accept our liver as payment because we couldn't afford the rest. So Koala was really easy to deal with and by far the best value for a long-ish trip to Alice Springs like we were planning. We were given a decent model car and they were very female friendly when explaining the terms and conditions. Located just west of the city, it was also convenient for us to pick up and they were one of the few independent companies that we found who let us take the car more than 200km from Adelaide. Make sure you check the car over before you take it of course, you don't want to be blamed for scratches or dents which were already in the car. And there is a hefty bond in case anything happens, but we got it refunded quite quickly which was impressive.

Delightful family run business specialising in budget car rentals. I've used them a bunch of times…read moreand have always been pleased. The cars are old, but run fine. It's about $35 per day, but can be a little more or a little less depending on what your looking for. They can pick you up from the airport or the city for free. Things to note: -You can't take their cars more than 100kms out of Adelaide -200 kms per day free -Utes and wagons available too Also, if your looking to buy a used car or you need some repairs done have a chat with them.

Don't get caught....!…read more I first hired a car back in May for 3 days and when I was paying and picking up the vehicle they asked for a credit card deposit of $500 made up of two separate amounts of $250 and they use this old visa swipe machine to get imprint only. 6 weeks later I went to hire a car again and same thing though I used my other credit card as a deposit this time. As I was called away for work I extended the rental. I arranged to drop the vehicle back outside business hours early one morning. I never heard from Kevin or Brook who run the rental side of the business. The outstanding amount for my rental was taken from my credit card. Not a problem at all. A week later I noticed there was two amounts for $250 total $500 on my MasterCard and I also noticed another two amounts of $250 totally $500 from my Visa card I used on a previous rental 6 weeks before. I called my bank who told me to contact Acacia Car Rentals. I was told that they found a small dent on the bonnet of the car and scratches on the plastic hub caps. We are talking about a Nissan Micro and I am used to a much larger car and never scrape gutters when parking. They saw an opportunity to defraud me and miss use my Credit Card details from a different transaction 6 weeks prior. Normally you would expect the carbon copy of customers credit card details should be destroyed after the rental contract is closed and full paid. It's very clear these back yard so called business people are very shonky. Stay clear and for the price of a Nissan Micro @ $50 per day with all these stupid restrictions you can go to Hertz or other major rental companies and get a new commodore for $42 per day. Also you know your credit card details will be safe with a professional company who take deposits/bonds using EFTPOS facility. STAY CLEAR AND IF YOU HAVE RENTED FROM THESE GUY's GO BACK AND ASKED FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD VOUCHER CARBON COPY BACK BEFORE YOUR DETAILS ARE MISS USED.
