Koala Car Rentals

Great, friendly, helpful, customer service. There were no dramas, no complications. Everything was…read moreso simple. I needed a car for a couple of days, while my own car was in the shop. I looked online for something cheap, and not too far from Adelaide. Many places won't put prices online, trying to get people to call them first, but Koala's prices were right there on their page. I rented a nice Hyundai for a measly $35 a day plus $15 insurance. Returning the car was just as straightforward, and the security deposit was back in my bank the next morning. I would certainly use this company again, and I highly recommend them.

We did A LOT of research into which company would be the cheapest, who offered the sort of car we wanted, and the easiest place to collect the car from. We turned our noses up at all of the major ones including Avis and Budget because of their prices and the fact they weren't crazy about having younger drivers (even though we were all of age to hire a car). And don't even get us started on Wicked Vans which are meant to be the most amazing company ever but would only accept our liver as payment because we couldn't afford the rest. So Koala was really easy to deal with and by far the best value for a long-ish trip to Alice Springs like we were planning. We were given a decent model car and they were very female friendly when explaining the terms and conditions. Located just west of the city, it was also convenient for us to pick up and they were one of the few independent companies that we found who let us take the car more than 200km from Adelaide. Make sure you check the car over before you take it of course, you don't want to be blamed for scratches or dents which were already in the car. And there is a hefty bond in case anything happens, but we got it refunded quite quickly which was impressive.

I'm feel really excited. We rent a car for 5 people, Budget got us a big car Nissan ,I don't really know the car type. We rent it one day from 9:00am-next day 9:00am , we don't have to rush time to return it in the same day, so it give me more time to sent my friends to their home, and I get more time to practice my drive skill in here. Because I didn't arrive right at the moment my reservation started, they said they 'gave my car away to someone else' and then had to take 30 mins to drive a car from the airport to this location. There were many other cars sitting there and I asked if I could just have one of those since they didn't have the type I had reserved, and they said 'every car is fully booked today, so we can't give a car away that isn't exactly what you booked.' Thank goodness that hotels don't give your room away if you don't arrive right at check in time - who knew that was a thing a car rental agency would do!

Don't get caught....!…read more I first hired a car back in May for 3 days and when I was paying and picking up the vehicle they asked for a credit card deposit of $500 made up of two separate amounts of $250 and they use this old visa swipe machine to get imprint only. 6 weeks later I went to hire a car again and same thing though I used my other credit card as a deposit this time. As I was called away for work I extended the rental. I arranged to drop the vehicle back outside business hours early one morning. I never heard from Kevin or Brook who run the rental side of the business. The outstanding amount for my rental was taken from my credit card. Not a problem at all. A week later I noticed there was two amounts for $250 total $500 on my MasterCard and I also noticed another two amounts of $250 totally $500 from my Visa card I used on a previous rental 6 weeks before. I called my bank who told me to contact Acacia Car Rentals. I was told that they found a small dent on the bonnet of the car and scratches on the plastic hub caps. We are talking about a Nissan Micro and I am used to a much larger car and never scrape gutters when parking. They saw an opportunity to defraud me and miss use my Credit Card details from a different transaction 6 weeks prior. Normally you would expect the carbon copy of customers credit card details should be destroyed after the rental contract is closed and full paid. It's very clear these back yard so called business people are very shonky. Stay clear and for the price of a Nissan Micro @ $50 per day with all these stupid restrictions you can go to Hertz or other major rental companies and get a new commodore for $42 per day. Also you know your credit card details will be safe with a professional company who take deposits/bonds using EFTPOS facility. STAY CLEAR AND IF YOU HAVE RENTED FROM THESE GUY's GO BACK AND ASKED FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD VOUCHER CARBON COPY BACK BEFORE YOUR DETAILS ARE MISS USED.

Hell, when I got in one of Cut Price ute's I was just get excited that I wasn't at scooter level on the road for once. I felt the need to wind down the window, grab an FUIC and stick on some high vis. The online booking service was incredibly easy and response via email really quick (call me a painful introvert but I love not having to deal with a real person for these kinds of transactions). Pick up and drop off was simple enough, just be wary of all the additional costs. I loved that they had sack truck hire there too! It was something I was dreading on buying and for $11 a day it was totally worth it. Cut Price is damn cheap and so was the ute I drove. The gearbox was weak, steering ordinary and the car smelt like a true Aussie bloke when I got in. But as I said, I like my vans and ute driving experiences to be rough as guts (while still getting me A to B) and if you do too then this is the cheapest and best company to go for.

Because our moving day required us to go to Pt Adelaide, Aberfoyle Park and Modbury, hiring a truck that we could control for the day was the best move we made. For only $70, (insurance extra) we hired a 3 tonne van with a hydraulic lifter that anyone with a Class C (regular drivers licence) licence can drive. We could pick it up from 8am, and we were there on the dot. The guys looking after us took us through how to drive the truck and took care to take photos of any existing damage, so we weren't blamed for anything afterwards. Turns out a 3 tonne truck looks small but can hold a lot of furniture. We only needed to do one run from each place to take back to our new home. The day went quickly and everything was made easy because we had control over the move. We were able to take the truck back first thing the next morning and had no trouble what so ever. It made our day incredibly easy.

I must say I was impressed with the convenience of this place, especially since it's right in the city on North Terrace. When driving past, you just follow the signs that lead you to a car park around the corner where you leave your car. There was heaps of space so no issues there. The first time was for a service and a rather urgent repair, this happened to be in the middle of the Christmas/New Years madness with public holidays all over the place. Speaking to them over the phone, they found a time to squeeze me in and, when the repairs ended up taking a bit longer than expected, they kept the shop open for me so I could pick it up after work and not have to wait until after the long weekend. Both times that my car has been in the shop they have called me during the day to keep me updated on everything that's going on. The second time my car needed a repair it was for a cracked exhaust and not only did they diagnose this while I was still there, but actually lifted the car up to show me exactly what had happened and how it would be fixed. I've never felt like I was being taken for a ride or left out of the loop and everyone I've spoken to here has been such a pleasure to deal with. Most definitely recommend it.

I had a look online into what I should have been paying the amount Ultra Tune quoted was almost 100% above the price Ford were offering as a fixed price quote. I figured if they were as good as the review perhaps it would be worth it. So I went ahead, got a loan car which is where the 2 stars come from. A few hours after dropping in my car I got a call several extra things all costing over a hundred so now my service was getting quite unreasonable in price. Some of the items should have been covered by the extra warranty I had on my car, Ultra Tune supposedly made a call but the information they came back wasn't even close to my warranty. I told them not to do any of the extra work, got my car back, sent my car to Ford for the next service everything fixed as expected.
