Great, friendly, helpful, customer service. There were no dramas, no complications. Everything was so simple. I needed a car for a couple of days, while my own car was in the shop. I looked online for something cheap, and not too far from Adelaide. Many places won't put prices online, trying to get people to call them first, but Koala's prices were right there on their page. I rented a nice Hyundai for a measly $35 a day plus $15 insurance. Returning the car was just as straightforward, and the security deposit was back in my bank the next morning. Two friends and I decided it would be a wicked idea to road trip it to the Red Centre of Australia and because none of us have an outback faring vehicle we decided to head to Koala Car Rental for our transportation needs. We did A LOT of research into which company would be the cheapest, who offered the sort of car we wanted, and the easiest place to collect the car from. We turned our noses up at all of the major ones including Avis and Budget because of their prices and the fact they weren't crazy about having younger drivers (even though we were all of age to hire a car). And don't even get us started on Wicked Vans which are meant to be the most amazing company ever but would only accept our liver as payment because we couldn't afford the rest. So Koala was really easy to deal with and by far the best value for a long-ish trip to Alice Springs like we were planning. We were given a decent model car and they were very female friendly when explaining the terms and conditions. Located just west of the city, it was also convenient for us to pick up and they were one of the few independent companies that we found who let us take the car more than 200km from Adelaide. Make sure you check the car over before you take it of course, you don't want to be blamed for scratches or dents which were already in the car. And there is a hefty bond in case anything happens, but we got it refunded quite quickly which was impressive. read more

Rental was relatively cheap. Quality of service is almost non-existence. Wasn't explained that the car didn't not have unlimited km during rental (but she written it on the contract, which I should have checked. So it is partially my fault). When we first got the car, heard some screeching sound during brake, check with the receptionist about it. She was extremely sarcastic and demanded me to brake and show her with her arms crossed behind our rental car. She said "so is the car safe for driving?", and "you worry too much". Bond money was return with 3 days, but extra money was deducted as we "exceed the km" and was not informed, nor received a receipt on the deduction. We had to call in, and the lady was not happy when we asked about what the deducted money was for. Ridiculous service, will not use them again. read more

Exactly how a car rental company should be. Friendly and efficient. I hired a car for 4 weeks in January/February 2019, while on extended holiday from the UK. No hard sell, no drama.
