Got multiple bids from several companies. Really wanted to patronize a local business. Superficially, it looked like other, big box businesses, were less expensive. Upon closer inspection -- not necessarily. For example, some only took down make and model of vehicle, not VIN number. Turns out windshields get upgraded, too, with vehicle upgrades. Roscoe Glass wanted the VIN, right from the start. Roscoe Glass quoted a price, explained process. Gracious. Zero pressure. Big box companies had some deceptive practices going on. Later some hounded me. (Wanna bet they sold my info, too?) After several days of checking out different versions, decided Roscoe Glass was most confidence inspiring. They had next day apptmts. Excellent. They had kept all the info from the first call. Nice. Took vehicle in the next day. Excellent repair. They explained windshield had been replaced before. There were some problems with how that had been done. As such, there was a small difference on the current windshield installation. Ok, thank you. Thorough. But now comes the magic. I go out to my vehicle. Front door will not unlock. Not with fob, not with key. All others open. Oh dear. What happened? Went back into store. A technician came and checked. He thought something had come loose. (Literally completely incidentally. Not their fault. They had done nothing on the driver side window.) They took the vehicle back into shop. They took the door apart, reattached whatever had come loose. Did not charge extra. Who does this any more? I will not go anywhere else for windshields or glass anything. Such a pleasant, high quality experience. Could not have been better. Customer service is alive and well at Roscoe Glass.

It was difficult to find someone, but a neighbor recommended this company. They knew exactly what needed to be done. The pergola had been in place for 20 years, but wasn't built to last much longer than that. This father and son came in, and spent a day installing three new posts, matching the original style exactly, leveling the beam perfectly, using concrete footings and painted everything to look brand new. They might be busy as great contractors are hard to find, but plan ahead and wait until they can service your project, and you will be glad you did. For reference, I sometimes visit my past construction customers from 30 to 40 years ago when I go back to CT, and my work still stands - my point is that I know what I'm talking about, and I'm grateful both to these guys and the neighbor who recommended them.

By lucky chance we met Liam as he left a neighbor's project. He agreed to "take a look". His proposal was everything we wanted. He removed drawers next to our sink, eliminating the need for additional plumbing. There was room for a dishwasher and pullout pantry storage. THEN moved the drawers to the outer wall and suggested a butcher block top. He also suggested a panel ready dishwasher, so the front matched the rest of our cabinets. We hired him on the spot. Then, we threw Liam a curve. A ReStore find for the butcher block, not only for the "island" but for our counter. An surprise fix Liam tackled was setting up the under-sink plumbing so our retractable faucet hose no longer snags on the pipes.
