Went to this location for rear brake issue. The gentleman was nice, and they said they would do a free inspection. Turns out had a bad caliper, so told will need rotors as well. When I was told $768, I thought, wow high, but things change over time. Not the case, each part 2 rotors, caliper were charged double O'Reilly cost, where the parts come from, so, invoice attached: also was charged labor per rotor 49.99. Then 99.99 labor for caliper, the standard brake pad cost cost is only thing close to legitimate. Caliper was doubled as well. I asked why so high, the gentleman said its to keep the lights on, its a new building, there are costs, so that we are for people that don't have a shop to refer to. Only reason I went was due to good reviews, worked with they years ago at old location. Service rep found me in the system. Unfortunately I was stuck, an inspection turned out to be mostly apart lol. These charges are ridiculous and bogus. I warn people to be aware in doing business at this location. There's a sign that mentions 17.9 % upcharge parts /supplies, no more than 29.99. That doesnt fit either. We'll see how this lifetime warranty works out. read more

My Subaru Outback had a massive brake failure while exiting the interstate after having work performed at the 37216 Budget Brakes. The driver side caliper bolt backed out and the caliper lodged in the wheel ruining it. According to the Subaru dealership, the only way that this can happen is if the bolt is not tightened to factory spec. At first, the manager a that BB location said he would help me file the complaint but then directed me to call the customer service number. And of course no one answers the phone or returns calls. First time customer and I will definitely be back. Steve and all the guys were awesome. I came in with an idea of what I thought was the issue, and turns out there was a cheaper alternative! As a young woman, you hear a lot of stories about mechanics taking advantage or assuming lack of knowledge about cars, so it's refreshing to know people who are honest and direct with the heart of a teacher still exist! While I was there, a situation that had the potential to turn dangerous broke out. Not only did Steve maintain a professional and authoritative demeanor, but all of the other guys and customers were able to feed off that energy to keep our heads cool and diffuse the situation. In the world we live in, it's unfortunate that we have to prepare for things to go south quickly. But there are good people out there who are prepared and can keep a level head. For now 5 stars. I went in to see what's up with my brakes. They inspected found out as I had suspected vacuum leak but not just a leak the brake booster, module and master cylinder needed to be replaced. They said they have 6 other Ford suvs this and recommend going to the ford dealer it would cost less with less issues but the ball park cost $1,500-1,700 thanks for your honesty. read more

My husband and I had to get back brake pads, all new rotors, brake booster, and a master cylinder today. These men did a great job on our van, and it's very safe and running good now. They are definitely worth going to for if you need these or other services. They definitely are more affordable than other places as well. What a bargain! $89 for a brake job?! That's unbelievable! Ummm...hmmm, it is! I have had my old Tacoma for 3 years. The only thing I have had to do is change oil and get new tires - until now. The passenger side brakes started grinding. I intended on doing it myself and bought the parts. I have changed brakes before myself on Hondas and such with no issue. Well - it seems Toyota in the early part of the 21st century chose not to use "floating" rotors. After watching a YouTube video it was apparent this brake job would be a little different. It involved removing wheel bearings and several bolts to remove them from the axle. I call a local shop - $239 - front only - not sure if that included rotors, but probably not. So I call Budget - $89 per axle - That's unbelievable!!! Wanting to just get front, but they check front and back for free. After about 20 minutes the tech comes out with the detailed list. Had I gone with their recommendation - my bank account would be over $500 lighter. Now THAT'S unbelievable. Obviously I told them I couldn't do that - the truck only has 125,000 miles and I drive it less than 8,000 miles a year. "Well we can do this for X amount of money." Nope - can't do it - put the wheels back on. "Well we can do this for X amount of money and not replace some of the parts with new ones." Nope - not gonna happen. Finally they offer to replace just the pads for $115.00. They were scraping, so I told them to do that. Guess what? They work great. I have used them in the past, but after they tried to use me - no more. Besides - THEIR COMMERCIALS SUCK! To top it off - I get there expecting to spend my wait time catching up on the latest car magazines. Well, I took a picture of their magazine rack - SERIOUSLY?! Can't praise these guys enough. We are driving from AZ to Chattanooga (& eventually NJ and back to AZ) for the holidays, and we randomlystopped in town when our front end started acting up. Not only did they help us figure out what went wrong, but the guys told us what could wait to be fixed in Chattanooga instead of trying to get as much $$ from us as possible. They got us fixed up and back on the road in reasonable time and were helpful, friendly, and patient, which is important since my boyfriend and I could fit our collective car knowledge in a thimble. They even gave us a breakdown of future work to get done. Horrendous markup on parts and service. $40 for two studs and lugnuts?! These guys will rob you without a ski mask and pistol--if you let them! And here I thought the most I'd seen for a rear brake job for one of our vehicles was ludicrous at $800. No, these guys wanted to charge for front and rear brakes and rotors, cv joint replacement and don't forget those two lugnuts and studs (that are suppose to come with the rotors, mind you) after being itemized to death--a whopping total of $1600+ American money, people! There's no way in HELL I'd pay that or them that much for that work on a vehicle I own outright! Shop around discerning consumers--but you can find a better prince than these shakedown artists! read more

They are not trustworthy. After 8 months my brakes started making noise. Took my car back and their warranty is only good for 6 months. 1 out of 4 new brake pads disintegrated. They must use mix and match parts. I would never give them my business again. read more

I've been cheated a few time but this was the worst. I worked at Goodyear as a break and alignment man for 5 years so I know how to do breaks. The break job they gave me barely lasted 10 months and the breaks started shaking. They charged me $360 for new breaks that they had already done for $400 less then a year earlier. read more

Top of the line rip off artist and even incompetent at that. I went in for a wheel alignment. After around a 10 minute look, the guy calls me to say that the front suspension is out of wack to such an extent that an alignment is not even possible-needs approximately $1750.00 worth of parts and labor. Next day I went to a highly recommended reputable shop The tech reported that the front suspension is in fine condition and I only needed an extra kit to allow adjustment for a badly out of line wheel. My mother took her van to Budget Brakes in Murfreesboro, TN for the free break inspection because she was going out of town. Well when they told her that her brakes are fine the Tech said your car won't start. My mother was like what it was fine the tech said its the starter. My mother ask if they put on starter she was told no they don't. But the tech said I have a guy out of Nashville that can do it. So the guy act like he had called someone & I came to pick up my mom. Within 40 minutes I was taking my mom back to get her vehicle. But then my mom was taking her car for another service only to find out that the starter was not put on correctly & then we find out that the tech that told her about this person Nashville did not exist it was the same tech that told her that her starter was bad. So the other business advised my mom that the starter was not put on correctly so my mom when back to Budget Brakes and after arguing with the owner saying they don't install starters she said I know but the tech that work on my car said he has a guy in Nashville that can do the work. Then the owner called the guy and asked him & he said yes I did now they saying something else was wrong with her vehicle. If your business is not putting on starts then leave it to the professional now my mom has to pay $644 after paying them $324 for a faulty starter. Thought my brakes needed to be replaced because my emergency light kept going off. The guys at budget brakes thoroughly checked my car and the wiring and told me it was just an issue with my dashboard (which they fixed) and didn't charge me a dime. Budget Brakes is like similar places-the ads don't tell the whole story. They advertise brake repair from $89.99, but there is a $14 fee for "shop supplies." And if you get the complete job, which includes turning the rotors, you may have to pay extra for wheel bearing seals, etc. K. Alexander was not too pushy, but he did try to sell me other work not requested. Rotors don't need to be turned unless they are damaged. In the end just changing the pads cost $104 plus tax. read more

What a great group of guys! We heard a squeaking sound and took our car in. It wasnt the brakes but a baring that had gone bad. We didnt have the full amount needed to fix the baring. The man at the desk made some calls and was able to bring the price down for us AND didnt charge us for any labor because he wanted us to be safe on the road. I don't mean to give them a bad rating but when I came in to budget brakes hoping for a low price to fix my brakes; I left with a bill for over $600 dollars. I should've researched it more to find out if what they charged for labor and parts were reasonable but even more, if all the stuff they replaced really needed replaced.
