When I simply asked if it was possible to pick up my reservation early, she responded with a very flippant "NOPE." And asked me to call the McKinney location (again, I did, I was simply routed via the phone tree to Grapevine). She then blurted out the number quickly and rudely before hanging up on me. I would highly recommend NOT renting from this location. This was an absolutely awful experience from start to finish. When I arrived, there were 15 people in front of me, and it took nearly two hours to get through the line. The process was excruciatingly slow, and there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency or organization from the staff. When I finally got to the front, the employee told me, "You better hurry; all the cars are being taken." I couldn't believe it - after waiting two hours in line, of course, the cars would be disappearing. This level of mismanagement is unacceptable, especially for an airport location where efficiency should be a priority. Save yourself the hassle and choose another rental company. I prepaid to pick up a car in Dallas. When I got to the rental center at 3 pm, my pick up time, there were only 2 employees working the general line. After waiting about 40 minutes, the line didn't move, and the customer that just got her car walked by me and said it took 4 hours! I cancelled my prepaid car and since it was after 3 pm, no refund! I have spoken to customer service and they said they requested a refund for me. I hope to see it, but this was a real hassle. Unfortunately I did not read the yelp reviews on this place before booking a vehicle at this location. They will force you into purchasing their insurance and make you feel like a criminal until you do. I was told the insurance would be $60 total for a two rental, but was overcharged $120 due to "roadside coverage"/ "vehicle protection" / "insurance" charges when I returned the vehicle. The Owner/Operator of the location, Katie, is very deceptive and looking at the reviews of this location it seems like they run these scam charges quite often on others. They don't even pick up the phone and at this location and just gave me the run around when I asked them about the charges. I hate to give 1 star because the effort given was equal to zero, but after reading some of these reviews, my situation may have been good fortune! Made a RESERVATION for a car rental to be picked up on 11/11/22 @ 10:30am at this location on E. Dallas Rd Grapevine. I received a couple email reminders - "RESERVATION REMINDER", "Pick Up your car @ 10:30", "YOUR CAR IS WAITING FOR YOU" and so on. I show up at 10:30 to get the car. The not so friendly lady behind the counter immediately tells me there are no cars available and she doesn't know when she will get returns...maybe by noon, she says. I tell her I have a medical emergency and have to get to Austin, which is why I made a reservation for a car. She says they aren't really "reservations" or a guarantee that you'll have a car to rent. Basically, your reservation is a suggestion that you might get lucky and rent a car at some unknown time. I asked her if there were other cars available. First, she told me there was an SUV, but it would cost more. I said, can I take the SUV then at a discounted rate? No. She then changed the SUV story to other people being in line to get it before me (I was the only person in the store, so maybe they were in line virtually?) and then later, the story became that I'd need a major credit card for the SUV anyway, no debit cards. I was obviously upset with no options, no customer service, and no effort being made on my behalf. I said the emails all say "RESERVATION"...her response was it must say somewhere in the contract that it isn't really a reservation, but she was unable to point me to that section of the agreement. I asked to speak with someone above her, but she's the top dog at that location...lucky me. If a reservation cannot be met, some effort should be made to contact the customer and let them know. None of this happened. In fact, the opposite did with the multiple emails telling me to come get my car. As I was looking at my rental info on my phone, I told her I'd have to cancel the reservation if she couldn't even give me a time when a car might be available. I then looked up from my phone and asked how I would even know when a car came in and she said, "Well, I just canceled your reservation. You said you wanted to cancel." So basically, if you actually need a car at a set time/date, I would recommend going to any other rental place but this one. The owner/manager couldn't have cared any less, couldn't have made any less effort, and doesn't seem to need your business anyway. She was super happy to cancel it for me. read more

The car I got from them was in unacceptable condition to rent to customers. Empty washer fluid, old rubber on the windshield wipers (so it skips and leaves streaks when used), overdue for an oil change, and a damaged fuel door that couldn't properly close. Giving two stars instead of one because I'm not sure if they could have made things better had I complained directly. Other than the fuel door, I was already off the lot by the time I noticed, and the issues weren't safety-critical. However, if this is the standard by which they maintain their vehicles, I would worry about safety issues lurking. read more

During the conversation I asked how far they were from DFW airport and was told to take Terminal D to a train(they even specified D as in Dog)and that it was a 2minute walk from there. That is not the case! It's Terminal B and it's more like an 8-10min walk, with no sidewalks and construction all with your luggage in the heat! I Booked the reservation online since they wouldn't over the phone, using my card but under my husbands name and when he went to pick up the car they said he couldn't because the card was under my name and wanted to charge him! I asked why they couldn't put the deposit on our credit card like we always do with rentals. What a mess! Not helpful whatsoever or accommodating! This place is terrible . I've rented from here multiple times and this will be the last time I rent from here . They charged me almost $ 170 for a cleaning fee on top of what I had pre paid online for my rental . Supposedly it smelled like dogs and there was dog hair . We don't own a dog or much less let dogs in a car so I know they are making stuff up just to steal from people. The guy on the phone , Montana , was rude and would not let me speak . I have received rental cars from this location that are dirty at pick up and I don't even make it a big deal and yet they say they don't give out dirty cars . Future renters: Go rent at enterprise or elsewhere, this place is terrible and not to mention their customer service is crap. My main issue was that I was overcharged by close to $800 and after a week, still have no call back regarding the problem. Don't rent from Avis. I finally created a yelp account because of this location. My husband and I travel a lot. We have rented several times from this location. Never has it been a great experience, but this last experience is the deal breaker. I rented a vehicle for over a week. The vehicle wasn't properly cleaned upon pickup, but that isn't a deal breaker. It was new and recently serviced so I went for it. We returned the vehicle at another location expecting an additional $300 charge for that. I did the math and my total charge should have come in at roughly $860-$900. I was hit with a $1550 charge days after the return. Montana at the front desk assured me that I would have a refund. The issue was that the return location charged me for mileage, but I was already paying a daily rate. I thought that sounded odd. Why would the return location change the way my original charge agreement processed? Since he was reassuring that the mistake was on their end and things would be handled, I agreed to wait 7-10 business days for my refund. I walked out of there with no reference number for my refund and I had to ask for a print out of my receipt that ended up having nothing on it about a refund. Today made 11 days, I called customer service to ask and they had zero evidence that a refund was even attempted. I am not the first person to use this term to describe this location's customer service DECEPTION!!! They are stealing money folks and it's pretty evident after looking at the reviews. I rented a truck on a Saturday morning which took about an hour to get me the keys from time I walked in the door with a reservation already set up. I really needed a rental car at last minute since my car had issues starting and was being towed to the dealership until I could get a loaner for free from the dealer. I booked a rental thru Sams club since It compared the best rates from all rental companies. Initially my reservation estimate was about $123 and booked it. Before going to this location, I did look up the reviews for this place. I was hesitant in coming here based on the reviews but I took a chance since I know everyone's experiences are different. Upon arriving, it wasn't busy at all. It is a smaller older place but it didn't seem too ghetto. The lady who helped me is Jennifer. I really liked her. She was in Bussiness mode and was straight to the point. She wasn't slow and knew what she was doing. When she gave me papers to sign for my rental, she did talked fast but I didn't mind it as long as I knew what I was signing. Before I signed, I did skim read everything before signing. The price was $10 higher than my reservation online. I told her about it and she immediately didn't ask no questions and went ahead and price adjusted it to the correct amount. She was very prompt and knew what she was doing. I really liked that. It took her about 5 mins to fix it. I was amazed at how fast I was there in and out. Also, I was given an suv for the price for a sedan. I'm assuming they only had that was available. I didn't mind cause I needed a bigger vehicle anyway for my kids. We rented a car from this Budget location in Grapevine on East Dallas Road. The employees made sure we got the best rate available. They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The car was in excellent condition and we will definitely rent from them again in the near future. My husband left his glasses in the car and before we drove back to our house which was 10 minutes away, they called to let us know they found the glasses. Great customer service. Prepaid!! a rental from this location for a Family Spring Break Trip! Despite being notified by email two days prior that my SUV was ready...it was a whole other story when I got there. What first caught my attention was the " couldn't care less" attitude of the manager behind the desk as several customers were standing in line. He continued to talk on the phone, and never greeted the customers or bothered to say "be with you in a minute." When we were finally waited on, I was told that my SUV had expired tags, that that was what the airport sent over, and they didn't have any others so I would have to "take it as is." I was shocked that Budget was going to rent me a car that was illegal! They pulled it around front, and when I saw it I was even more upset. This "thing" had 30,000 miles...dings all over the windshield, and it was filthy. I suspect they tried to give us a vehicle that was being retired. I immediately called the 1-800# and I have to say the lady was courteous and she told me exactly what to do. I rented from the Grapevine location, and then promptly drove to DFW Airport location to swap for a safer model. Ironically, whiIe following behind this behemoth, I also noticed the brake light was out! So, not only would I have gotten pulled over for expired tags, but also for a brake light! Oh, and the manager did tell me not to worry about getting pulled over. It would be Budget's problem!!! After 3hrs. I was able to swap this jalopy with a legal and less mileage SUV. The staff at the airport were very helpful and had compassion! They gave us a free day in the computer, but do you know that the Grapevine location didn't credit our account? We had to call 1-800 again and they immediately credited it. Needless to say, we won't be using this location again. I checked one star...but that may be stretching it. read more

I rent weekly from Avis for business. Literally 40+ weeks annually. I have rented from this location twice as it is semi local to me. My latest rental will be my last at this location. As a pathologically loyal Avis renter, I am used to great service. The staff at this location actually made me feel unwelcome and burdensome. I was overcharged on rental return, politely asked for an adjustment and was told it would have to happen later as they were busy. Rather than argue, I simply called customer service and received immediate and hospitable assistance. The truck I picked up on Saturday no AC I followed up on Monday with Katie Mgr. on Monday and she advised that she was aware the vehicles AC was not working based on a follow up call from the previous renter after I had left. They indicated vehicle had full tank of fuel when actually had between 3/4 and full I drove the vehicle 50 miles added $17 worth of fuel 6.8 gallons and the Katie the manager indicated that was about right. Vehicle also had 2-3 inches of play in the steering wheel. I would recommend you look elsewhere if you are needing to rent a truck. read more

Reserved a truck and trailer for a one way trip from Grapevine to Florida on Nov 9, to depart on Nov 27. On Nov 26 I was called to be told they did not have the equipment I had rented and had a confirmation of having and in spite of me making a physical trip to their location to confirm everything up from with them about 2 weeks ago. Reservations and confirmations from Budget mean ABSOLUTELY nothing. With a cross country move there are many moving parts hotels and etc. Talk about a kink in the plans. It sucked.
