We were shown our parking spot and taken to our room, then given some recommendations for dinner and visiting Devil's Tower. The room was comfortable and had enough space to walk through with our luggage, unlike most standard hotel rooms. Beds are comfortable and there's FOUR pillows. Truly appreciated! Stayed at Arrowhead for one night so that we could visit Devil's Tower. The town was small but had a little variety to it. The hotel was easy to find, and impossible to miss! Very brightly colored building had a unique and appealing appearance. The staff was very friendly and made food recommendations for us as well. The room was very clean. Immaculate, to be exact. Not a single item was out of place and you can tell this hotel is well taken care of. The towels were even folded up to look like animals, which was really cute. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was also quiet at night too, so it was very easy for us to get good sleep. Breakfast options were available in the morning, which we did enjoy. The hotel is old and outdated, but it appears they are trying to keep up with the chains. Their fake flowers out front were amusing. The room was clean with a "swan towel" on each bed and "elephant towels" in the bathroom. Those were the highlight - along with the amazing shower head with the best water pressure we've had this trip! I also like the laminate flooring between the two area rugs under the beds. Fresh watermelon, cantaloupe and muffins were provided for breakfast. You could also heat up breakfast. All in all, not bad for the price. read more

The was a cute hotel with spirit. Owners Bill and Will were very nice. The towels were made into swans at the foot of the beds and had candies tucked into them. It has been remodeled, and while done so on a budget, it has style and spunk. The only disappointment was no coffee in the morning--in the room or office. We were only there long enough to shower and sleep then hit the road, but we'd stay again. Give it a try!! read more

This is second year we stayed at Arrowhead Motel, before the Sturgis bike rally, the owners Will and Bill are great. Older motel but very clean rooms and in great condition. They have area outside when you can hang out in evenings weather permitting. Owner are very proud of hotel and one is always on property if you need anything. Will be back again! read more

This hotel does absolutely everything to make you feel like they are not a budget hotel, but their price makes them a good deal for this location: the queen bed is comfortable and has 4 pillows, the over-sized shower head gives you a great blast of water for a terrific shower, the bath towels are luxuriant and absorbent. In addition to all that, there is a mini-fridge and microwave in the room, and a decent-quality free breakfast is available. The rooms are sparsely furnished and small, with only a couple outlets, but these aspects were not a problem for us. read more

Best place I stayed in the Black Hills Area. Visited 7/16/17 on my way to the Black Hills after a full 9-hour day of driving through Wyoming with a friend. I came in with some trepidation, as the low price and stories of mediocre motels in the area seemed suspicious. I was pleasantly surprised. While the motel certainly looks like it was from the 1960s, it had also been recently spruced up. Staff in front were friendly, taking the time to lead us out to our rooms. There were two beds, a table, a bench desk, an air conditioning unit, a TV, a microwave and a refrigerator. All seemed new. The towels made in the shape of animals were a cute touch, as were the chocolates and welcome letter. Bathroom has been freshly re-tiled, and has a European shower with an expanded tub. Bed was comfortable with enough pillows and I slept well. Morning has a free continental breakfast in the lobby, with fruits, dough nuts, coffee, pastries, juice, even some sausage muffins (that need to be microwaved). Bill was in front and was a friendly guy, giving us some advice for additional lunch options, talking about things in town, and some new information on visiting a lookout point nearby. Sundance is a nice, quiet town, close to the Black Hills and close to Devil's Tower. All-in-all, I don't see what more I could ask for $70 at the height of summer. read more

Its 2:30am and I have drove over 1000 miles straight from Las Vegas Nevada to here and I left at 2am yesterday morning so that I could make it to a very important appointment in North Dakota. Other than gas station food and 2 one hour long car naps I have had no breaks...... Did I mention I'm traveling with my 6 year old Autistic son and our 2 cats?.... Anyways I am saying all this to say This hotel is Freaken awesome! First off I rang the doorbell and waited for less than a minute before someone awesome came to the door with an amazing attitude and a great smile. The host thanked me for coming in and was extremely polite. I was checked in quickly and then I noticed they had nice jewelery for sale for a very good price and so I bought a beautiful watch for (8.00) :) such a great deal! After I was done shopping in the lobby I went to my truck and this awesome host met me at the room and opened the door for me! Then asked me if the room was ok for my son and me. I was shocked how nice it was and how warm it was. It felt good being that its 14 degrees outside. I expected a cheap hotel with cheap service and cheap decore maybe a possible bed bug problem (((a major fear of mine))) but NO this place is VERY CLEAN !!! I know I look crazy and stressed out after this long drive but that didn't matter. I was treated with great respect and I feel so welcomed! My son has sensory issues so the fact that the sheets are white really show that the people who run this place launder their linen. Not to mention the light fixture in the bathroom is absoultly beautiful and the shower head is nicer then the one I have at home. I don't have enough nice things to say about this place. I am so thankful for the service and the accomadations. They even have candy and a thank you letter next to a towel swan on our bed !!!!! More positives: 3 locks on the door for extra safety Flat screen tv Magical spa shower head The curtains smell like laundry soap Comfy mattress Mini fridge and microwave Quiet heater Pet friendly but clean you could never tell their pet friendly!!! Wow! yes, they have air conditioning but no heat in room or bathroom. There are no outlets in the bathroom at all! They had a spaceheater put in the bedroom area which was plugged into an outlet along with a lamp,refridgerator, microwave! We pre-paid for 2 nights and checked out after one night(unrefundable) Room was freezing cold as it was 26 degrees outside. When we left clerk (Bill) was very rude to us! Stopped here last minute at the end of an awesome roadtrip. This place was inexpensive which was our main draw to it, and a nice low pet fee, but was also very peaceful and the room was uniquely decorated. The owners Bill and Will were so friendly and the little property was well maintained. Easy walk to the couple local places we went to. AWESOME place to stay near Devils Tower. Along with being very close to Devils Tower(27.3 miles) you are about 1 1/2 hours from Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument. If you like, you can go I 90 east to 85 south through Deadwood SD (45 min away) to 385 south to 385 which connects with Rt. 16 to Mt. Rushmore then to Crazy House back up 385/16 to Rt. 244 east to Crazy Horse and Crazy Horse is approx. 30 min from Mt. Rushmore. If you are wanting a nice quiet place to go to after a tiring day, this is the place. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and the shower here is wonderful (see pic). There is a charging port on the night stand (see pic) and at least two other power strips in the room. This place was recently renovated and it shows. Approx. $80 a night was also great to see so we stayed 3 nights instead of one. There is a big BBQ grill you can use, fridge and microwave in room. The air conditioner and TV both have remotes. Yes that is correct. If you are hot or cold in the middle of the night you only have to turn off or on your air conditioner from your bed, how awesome is that. It passed all of the wife's (that's Penny for those who do not know my reviews) expectations. The owners were great people and in the morning there is a continental breakfast with coffee, OJ, pastries, those two packs of mini sausage and biscuits and a couple other microwave breakfast items. Bill and Will the owners were more than helpful. They have owned the hotel about a year. Call them direct and save a few bucks instead of using booking dot com. We would have saved about 20 bucks by dialing direct. 1-307-283-3307. There are also things to see in Sundance and Bill can tell you a story or two about the Sundance Kid and a few other stories. There is the Hole in the Wall which Bill and every local will tell you, "I have been there, but can not remember where it is." Have a great time and enjoy this place. read more
