The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. We then left the hotel for dinner and on our return to our room we found a ladder set up in front of our room's door. Upon further inspection we found that our room was flooded with over three inches of water from a broken pipe. The maintenance crew helped us get our possessions together. We were told to go to the front desk for room reassignment. Upon arriving at The desk we found out that the flooding affected a total of ten rooms and that they had no other rooms nor could they find anything in the area. Front desk staff did try to help while always maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor during a difficult time. They earned all available stars.

This hotel is pet friendly, thank God. I haven't been able to get ahold of my boarding facility, so I couldn't just leave my dog in a house with no heat as we dip into the 20s. They will clean your room every couple of days but they missed us one day and they said it's because in the morning we had to do not disturb on. Their breakfast is OK it's not much more than a continental and in fact there's no pastries of any kind or anything like that there's a few muffins. We stayed an entire week and nothing really changed on the buffet. The only kind of fruit is are a whole apple or maybe a whole orange so there's no cut up fruit. And I'm only bringing this up because they mention on their website about this excellent breakfast and it's nowhere near that. The staff is super friendly. The pool looks pretty darn small but if it was winter time I'm sure kids would enjoy having that opportunity to swim. I probably would stay here again, but I would go to the store and buy my own things to eat in my room as opposed to there breakfast.

The last time we came, they took great pains to help us get a (very hard) reservation at the student-run restaurant in the same building. They are also very knowledgeable about the area. The really good breakfasts are served at whatever time you want, either directly to your room or in the very nice lounge right next to the rooms. Why stay at a much more expensive and impersonal hotel when you can have a relaxed and quiet visit and save a bunch of money at the same time?
