Filthy run down drug hotel. I wouldn't let my dog stay in this place! Only gave it a one star because zero wasn't an optio.

Royal Inn - It does blow cold-ish. Highlight of my stay.

I must say this is one of the nicer places I've stayed at for the budget price. The front entrance…read moreis very welcoming and clean. No trash in the parking lot. Nothing that would sway you away from staying here. The owner is very friendly and willing to accommodate, got me checked in really fast the rooms are very clean no odors, lingering. Full size TV with HBO channels, working refrigerator and microwave big enough bathtub to soak my legs in clean mattresses and sheets. For the price you will not regret staying here if you're ever coming through Sparta, Tennessee, make sure and stop by for a night

This place is in serious need of attention and upkeep. Our non-smoking room had stained sheets with…read morevisible cigarette burns, which was concerning right away. We checked the bedding for bed bugs (thankfully didn't find any), but the mattresses are clearly very old and worn out. The floors were also quite dirty, with debris and leftover food from previous guests, which made the overall cleanliness feel very neglected. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only motel in the area, and it feels like that lack of competition is reflected in the high pricing for what you actually get. We booked through Booking.com and would have been charged for the full stay if we canceled, which made the situation even more frustrating. To top it off, when we left in the morning, there were police officers and crime scene tape outside. I don't know what happened, but it definitely added to the uneasy feeling about staying here. Overall, I would strongly recommend looking for alternative accommodations if at all possible.

I will start by saying that this place is great! My wife and I visited recently for a weekend…read moregetaway in the off-peak winter month of February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The initial booking interaction with the front office manager was excellent, and she went out of her way to make sure we were familiarized with the property, how to get in and out of the coded gate, and where to find our documents/keys, etc. as we were checking in late upon arrival. The cabin was beautiful, if not a tad outdated in the typical "Gatlinburg mountain-style" motif, and was settled nicely by itself without an immediate neighbor, so we felt very comfortable, secluded, and able to fully relax - the ideal weekend getaway environment! What was even better was the pricing. Our cabin was a 2 bedroom, 3 bath, fully stocked kitchen with all appliances, dishware, silverware, etc, and a living room area with 2 couches, a lounge chair, including a flat panel with tv access, and all across 2 stories. Everything was very well cleaned, the loft area was beautiful, and even had an in-room whirlpool-jetted tub. Everything they said they'd do, they did. Great service, nice location very close to the Fall Creek Falls State Park, and within 15 mins either way of the nearest town for additional options. Overall, we'd most certainly visit here again the next time we're looking for a hike along the beautiful falls nearby!

The hotel is very nice, our room was very spacious and clean with unbelievably comfortable beds and a quiet yet effective air conditioner. After settling in and…read moreputting our son to bed we realized the television didn't work, the toilet didn't flush and there was dog food on the floor of the bathroom. We called the front desk and had to move to another room on another floor. Very inconvenient and they offered no discount for the inconvenience. Breakfast was not well stocked and we ended up going elsewhere for food. Just before 9:30AM I went to make myself a coffee and the person cleaning from breakfast grabbed the creamers as I filled my cup which was rude and ridiculous. Even if breakfast was ending he could have let me cream my coffee. We were going to stay again on our way back through town but definitely will try a Hilton instead. We have been strictly Marriott users as I plan soccer travel for a group and plan business travel frequently but I've been urged to switch to Hilton brand for a better experience.

When either of us took a shower, (try as we might to prevent it) water pooled on the floor and out into the small foyer of the room. We took a total of two showers because we stayed only one night. Checkout did not afford a chance to notify the hotel of the problem. The person at the desk was working hard and we did not interrupt her.

I am currently staying at the HI, and it's one thing after the other with this damn place!! 1st, they booked us for Thursday-Sunday, when I specifically asked for a Monday checkout. Get here and they charge me an extra $163!!! Then. Every single time I leave the room, when we get back in the evening, my damn keys don't work!! And they blame it on ME!! That's I'm placing the close to my cell phone or mobile device of some kind!! I literally held them in my hand, and placed them in the glovebox of the car!!! They came to clean the room, but left us no toilet paper. Now if I want TP, I have to walk down to reception and get some!!! Lady, I gotta poop! I ain't got time to walk down there and get it!! Overall this experience has been absolutely horrible!! They really dropped the ball on this one! They ruined my experience with Tennesee. We are just here for my sons wedding, and they've made it miserable!!! 0 stars if I could.....
