The only thing that kept me from giving this business five stars was the bathroom. The beds were pretty comfortable, pillows were fluffy, and the air worked. Fantastically! All of the lights were soft white, and added to that comfortable ambience. The bathroom honestly was lackluster, with tarnish and mold And a toilet that ran for the majority of my visit. On the other hand, the service at the front desk was absolutely wonderful, the girl that worked there during my stay was very pleasant and kind. The breakfast was amazing. They had miniature scones, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, and other hot breakfast items available each day. Did I mention they have pumpkin spice waffles right now? Not going to lie I was super excited! The pool is closed at the moment, but the indoor workout room did not smell like a nasty, old, rotten jam, it was actually rather pleasant, and all of the equipment was well-kept! Definitely debating coming back here and hopefully they will get their bathroom situation figured out. Paid $217 for 2 queen bed room. Pool had debris floating in it. Wife skimmed it herself. Still didn't swim as there was green slimy looking stuff in bottom. We were in room 106. Let me start by saying I appreciate this place after a traumatic stop at the Candlewood suites where I saw a roach. I checked out and made a bee line for a trusted Hilton property despite the cost. I hate leaving negative reviews but was pretty disappointed in this stay. The room door was gross - handprints all over it, it was clear it had not been cleaned, and the room smelled disgusting. We paid over $500 for two rooms for one night at this hotel. There were so many disappointments and problems with these rooms. We chose this hotel based on Hilton and Hampton Inn reputations. it was a mistake. For the money spent, there was nothing at all about the rooms that called for that price. One room had a tv that volume was not adjustable. one room had an a/c unit that could not be adjusted. Both rooms had very poor water pressure in the sink and non regulating water temp in the shower. Water was either too cold or too hot, no in between. The refrigerators had no temp control and were barely cool. There was no microwave in either room. Bedding toppers were fitted so they just covered the bed surfaces. This left both sleepers in the king size beds pulling for coverage from the other sleeper. The curtains on the windows did not pull shut. There was a shade on the window but left several places for light to come through making it difficult to sleep with the light. The bathroom was furnished with only two bath towels, one hand towel and 2 washcloths. only a partial roll of one ply toilet paper. Yes I could have gone to housekeeping or called front desk. But for the prices paid for these rooms I should not have had to do that. All in all I feel was robbed of a lot of money for a room I could have gotten just about anywhere. I will not rely on Hilton or Hampton Inns reputations ever again and will certainly choose another location for my next stay in Cookeville TN. read more

This Hampton Inn is unfortunately not like almost every other one in the nation. They think that since they are the only Hilton property in town that they can charge anything that they want. They do not honor the government rate and do not care if you are a loyal Hilton Honors gold member. They would rather make an underpaid government employee pay extra out of their own pocket just to stay at their hotel. Which is insane when you consider how every other business was reaching out to help federal employees during the shut down. Even though Marriott Brands are not what I favor, they honored the government rate and were very helpful and pleasant. Too bad this place can't compare. read more

For many years I traveled for business, and I have stayed at more Hampton Inn locations than I can remember. They are most always great. This location was just what I expected from Hampton Inn. Conveniently located just off I-40, it is situated near numerous restaurants and shopping spots, many of which are within walking distance. The hotel was exceptionally clean - from the lobby to the rooms. Everything was very well maintained. The room we had was a king with a walk-in shower. Very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom and the shower were large and the fixtures appeared to be recently updated. The staff was amazing! I checked in via the Hilton Honors app, and upon arrival the gentleman at the front desk greeted me by name and did not even need my credit card. Everything was already set up and ready. He also was very helpful when we asked some questions about restaurants in the area. My only complaints were not the fault of the hotel. Due to COVID-19, the pool and fitness center was closed, and they didn't offer hot breakfast. Overall this Hampton Inn, like most, offered a clean, comfortable room at a good price. read more

The hotel is either brand new or just remodeled. Very clean, up today Decor and finishings. Polite helpful front desk/ checkin employee. I travel and spend a lot of time in hotels. This is the best Hampton I have stayed at. Hilton as a brand: I've received better service from the last 3 Hampton inns I have stayed at then all of the Marriott hotels I have been too and I'm Platinum elite with Marriott. I've stayed at this location more than a dozen times within the past year. I've received the worst costumer service ever. I will never stay at this location ever again. Even thought I've been here numerous times, $50 is placed on hold for incidentals, and there Is no room service or room bar. I'm still waiting for the release of my money for over 30 days. When I called to request my funds be released, I was tested as if I was lying about my own money. The worst customer service was provided by the lady at the front desk. She treated me as if I was a liar and told me my funds had been released without even looking into my complaint. She wouldn't give me the number to the corporate office. BEDBUGS at Hampton Inn Cookeville, TN! In November, 2021, we spent one night at the Hampton Inn in Cookeville., (3rd floor). We moved rooms three times due to 1) hair on the sheets in two rooms 2) Hair and what I now know to be bed bug casings in the second room 3) Blood on a pillow. I had the hotel clerk, Ronald come up to the room. I handed him the pillow with blood and asked if they had even cleaned the room. He stated "We don't have another room to give you" and "I don't know what that blood is." Because there was no other choice on a Saturday night at 10 pm I reluctantly stayed until 6 am. Upon arriving home, I realized I had bed bug bites on my arms, shoulder, chest, and legs. My doctor confirmed the diagnosis. I spoke with the General Manager, Ricky Cherry several times. He stated he had closed off the room and called Orkin. After 4 phone calls, 10 days later, he won't take my calls. I reported this to Hilton Inc. who told me to contact the hotel directly. Beware of Hampton Inn particularly at this location. I am a Hilton Honors member for years. Hampton Inn has decreased their standard since the pandemic began. If I could give them zero stars I would. My last phone call I told the clerk Megan about the bedbugs. She responded "This is the first I've heard of this." I said "I'm going to hang up and write you a negative review." This is perhaps the best hampton inn I have ever stayed in. This is saying a lot bc I travel 9 states and have stayed at tons of hamptons. Everything from the friendliness of the staff to the selection of toiletries is superior here. It has a full gym with multiple TVs and free weights. The best part of all is the tv channel selection. When you travel a lot this becomes and important asset! It is within a stones throw of every chain restaurant in cookeville and a short drive to good local fare. One of the nicest Hampton Inns that I have stayed in. I suppose it helps that it is fairly new, but overall stay was perfect. The rooms have tall ceilings and are very spacious. Love seat, full size desk, etc. The decor could not have been more inviting, and the bed and room were spotless. Gym set up was awesome, with multiple machines and also on the spacious side. Location is right off the interstate and next to various restaurants that are within walking distance. Large continental breakfast and solid service. I have been a Hilton Honors member for some time and have stayed in multiple Hilton properties. Hampton Inn is normally a very safe bet to be clean, accommodating with pleasant staff. But in times of a pandemic, they also need to be concerned about the safety of their guests. The Hampton Inn in Cookeville, TN is not! Despite Hilton having posted on their website all of their staff will follow rules including wearing masks, the staff at this location did not. Even when I asked them about it, their nonchalant attitudes were that they didn't have to so they would not. With guests coming from all over the US, they are not taking into consideration what they are picking up and what they are giving off in terms of COVID 19. Even WALMART in this town required masks. I felt that the safety of their guests was not a high priority when compared to the comfort of their staff. I will not stay here again! read more

Understaffed...rude and ineffectual front desk agent...We booked a room for Friday night before our son's TTU graduation well over a month in advance. 2 weeks before the event, we learned of another person coming in that would need a room. Knowing rooms would be at a premium that close in, I called the hotel directly at 521pm and explained to the front desk that we needed another room. He said he was going to place me on hold, then the line went dead. I immediately started calling back, and the phone rang with no one answering 11 times, then disconnected. No person, no machine, nada. This happened 4 more times, then on the 5th time he answered the phone. I asked what happened, he told me he tried to transfer me to "reservations", and didn't answer the phone the other times I called because he was "busy". When I told him again what we needed, he asked for our last name, he brought up the rez and confirmed the first name, and said no problem, he, added another room to our reservation, everything is fine. Sooooo, we get there, go to check in, and lo and behold there was only one room on the reservation, and there is nothing he could do, he didn't remember talking to me (even though I remembered him quite well.) Luckily I had my phone with me and showed him the calls and times to the hotel. No apology, just"we are sold out". I asked to speak to the manager, he just pointed at the wall with her contact information on it. I called her cell number, and left a message for her to call me back. We were standing around trying to figure out what to do, and the manager called the front desk, spoke with him for a few minutes,and the agent handed the phone to me. She was apologetic, unlike the desk clerk who never once apologized, and said she would fix it, either by finding a room there by giving us one that was reservedbut not guaranteed by credit card, or by putting us up in another hotel if the front desk clerk couldn't find one. She also told me that she had instructed her agent to also apologize ( which NEVER happened). After hanging up, the front desk agent picked up the phone and called a couple of hotels, unsurprisingly that were fully booked. A few people trailed in looking for a room and were turned away by the desk agent. He seemed gleeful with a look of mirth plastered on his face with some of the folks. I mean, he should have have some help on such a busy night, but his total lack of customer service skills was unbelievable. But I digress. After the second attempt to call other hotels failed, I called to his attention that other properties was plan B, plan A was to find a room there. He was unable (or unwilling) to do that. In the meantime my wife, seeing how this was going, got on her phone and managed to find a room in another hotel 1/2 mile away. She told him the name, and he called and made the reservation. When we got home, we find that they have double charged our credit card and Now the manager won't return our calls. So long story short, be careful with this property. I've happily stayed at dozens of Hampton Inns in the past, and this bad experience has really put a bad taste in my mouth for the chain. read more

Unreal.. in a good way. Upon coming up the drive I was a little nervous because the sign is outdated but as soon as I walked in, I was like what, is this a Hampton? This location was reopened about 7 months ago after a year of renovations. Absolutely phenomenal hotel! Staff above and beyond friendly, modern and updated decor, the normal Hampton breakfast, etc. I would stay here again and would recommend anyone else to stay here too! We stayed here passing through town and it is very nice aside from the slightly rude girl at check in. I booked over the phone over a week in advance however when we looked online inside of a week prior to our stay there was a cheaper rate showing. When we arrived, I very nicely mentioned this to the girl at check in and she said we had to book a week in advance for that and have AAA. I noted we booked over a week in advance and had AAA. She shrugged her shoulders and huffed in exasperation stating how we couldn't get that rate and again mentioned the week in advance. I politely stated again when and how we booked and questioned if it was a matter of booking online vs phone. Luckily the manager came around the corner at this time and she rolled her eyes prior to walking over to relay the situation. He was very understanding of the confusion and gladly adjusted the price to the lower rate. He was very nice and professional. Though it sounds like I was pushy, I honestly was simply questioning the difference in price. From the get go the checkin girl was rude. The manager was so nice and personable. The rooms were nice and very clean! I am easily grossed out by hotels but I never felt uncomfortable. Everything was clean and the decor was so modern. The beds were so incredibly comfortable. Fantastic hotel. Very nice, very updated. The hotel staff is friendly. I've stayed in a couple other hotels in Cookeville, and this one is the best. The only odd quirk it has is that you have to insert your room key into an electronic slot by the front door if you want to use the lights and tv in the room. I've stayed in lots of Hilton owned hotels for work, and I've never seen that before. I guess it's a way for them to save on electricity when you're not in the room. If you want a room the same temperature as the outside air temperature, stay here. They have a air handler system that turns on only when you place your keycard into a reader just inside the door of the room. It was not particularly hot the day of my stay, but it took forever for the room to get comfortable. I am all for saving energy, but this is ridiculous. The owner of this hotel franchise is saving money at the expense of his guests' comfort. Consider staying in Lebanon or Crossville at their Hamptons. Both nice hotels. read more

Very nice! Stayed here Christmas night. Very clean and comfortable. They had complimentary makeup remover, along with other toiletries. Breakfast was excellent- good scrambled eggs (not rubbery), juicy sliced sausage (kielbasa?), little French toast sticks, oatmeal with different toppings, waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, and of course different cereals and breads/ bagels. The coffee was good, too. We were very pleased with this hotel and will definitely consider staying here again, as it is a little over halfway between our house and my parents'. read more
