An absolute horrible experience. I had rented a full size 3rd row SUV for a road trip to Florida with the family. I need a full size ride for 5 passengers and luggage for our 10 hr ride each way. Seven weeks in advance I made my reservation on a Yukon Denali XL. My reservation was made and confirmed online. A few days prior to my pickup date Budget called to reconfirm my reservation. When I went to pick up my car it wasn't there and the clerk at the desk said she didn't expect it in. No reason why, other than it wasn't in and she did not anticipate it coming in that day prior to close. No apologies, no offer to contact another location. The only other option was to put me in a 13 or 15 passenger sprinter van. We had to have a ride that day because we were leaving early the following morning. The van we got stunk like a frat house. Half empty beer cans inside, trash strewn around. The van was horrendous on the highway. Drove terrible at highway speed. Front end shook terribly. The whole family was miserable riding to and from our trip. This was a miserable experience. I hope to never deal with them again! read more

We reserved a mini van in March 2026 for a trip we had planned in May. When we went to pick up the vehicle, we were told that a van wasn't available and all they had was a Kia Telluride. The Kia had been sideswiped and wasn't really clean but we accepted it anyway. While on the interstate we noticed a sound coming from one of the tires and shortly after the tire blew. It was frightening. We were able to pull over to the shoulder of the interstate only because we were lucky enough for a young man who was behind us pulled over and allowed us to pull in front. He helped my husband change the tire and we continued on our way. But we had a long way to drive still to get to our destination. We worried the whole way whether that temporary tire was going to safely get us to where we were going. That put a damper on our whole trip. We had to end up driving almost an hour away from the cabin to exchange the car for one with better tires. That took a whole day of our time that was wasted. We will never rent from them again. We purchased the extra insurance also but received a bill from Budget when we returned home charging us for the tire. What a way to do business!! This is the worst management team I have ever worked with. They took money out of my account. They was to reimbursement 7 to 10 day did not receive call or email saying it wasn't going to happen. Now they tell me it will be 20 to 30 days before I get my money back by check. This is bull. I will never give business to them again and will not recommend them to anyone else. Customer service team is not helpful. This location is at Plantside Drive Louisville KY. If you reserve online don't expect to get what you order. That is what I was told by the manager. I had a family emergency in Massachusetts. I reserved my first vehicle with enterprise but because I did not have a chip in my debit card they would not rent to me. I then went online and reserved a car with budget. I forget her name, but the woman at the counter did everything she could to get me on the road within am hour of me getting there. I was truly blessed that day and thankful that she went above and beyond to get me home. read more

I have rented cars from this Budget location many times and I have been mostly satisfied with the service and the cars. There have been a few exceptions (like the time the customer service person called me an asshole because I didn't want to take the car she initially gave me because the check engine light was on). But even considering that episode I have been mostly satisfied. Until my most recent rental. Based on my most recent rental I should give them 1 star but I'm giving 3 stars because of being mostly satisfied in the past. This time the customer service person (someone I had never seen before) was completely inconsiderate of my needs (remember I was the customer in this transaction) and she was rude. If you decide to rent a car from this Budget location be prepared, you may have to deal with an inconsiderate and rude customer service person. read more

Absolutely the WORST rental place in this city. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The ONLY thing right that they did was answer the phone and given the service we've received TWICE from this location, I'm not really sure answering the phone should be attributed as a positive. The 1st time they sent us out with a moving truck that they said had been all checked out and ready to go. In actuality they had not cleaned it AT ALL. Trash, moldy leftover food left in the back stunk so much we hated to put our furniture back there for the two day trip. We picked it up during the day but we left around 2am. When we started it up and turned on the head lights we realized it had a head light out. Something that couldn't be handled at 2am. So we had to call someone when we arrived at an out of town hotel when we stopped for the evening. Even when telling the office it was obvious they did not care. We are loyal customers so we thought we'd give it another shot. Ordered another truck a week in advance to move some stuff for our elderly mother who is moving to our location. Got a call THE NIGHT BEFORE we were scheduled to pick it up to tell us that they didn't have a truck at that location. When my husband complained about the lack of professionalism and customer service, the agent told him it was "no problem" he would arrange for my husband to pick up at another location that was 30 MINUTES AWAY!!! Ridiculous! When my husband started letting him know that this was unacceptable, the agent kept telling him to "stop talking and listen to him (the agent) and that it should be no big deal to drive to another location to get the truck." WOW...just, WOW! If that wasn't bad enough, my husband drives the distance to the new location early the next morning, picks up the truck, makes it halfway back before he realizes he can't get the air conditioning to work and that there is something wrong with the engine so he has to pullover in a parking lot and call them to come pick up their crappy truck. Horrible... HORRIBLE experience from beginning to end, TWICE! Do NOT bring your business here. If you do, do it at your own risk. They are not here to provide you a reliable service, they are only here to collect your money. read more

This company actually recommended that my family find another car from one of it's "competitors". They failed to provide transportation after a 6 month reservation and canceled the day of the trip. Take the advice given by their representative "Jasmine", and give your business to their competitors, because Budget neither wants, appreciates, or deserves your money. Really great customer service! They helped us find a car trailer in Louisville even though they didn't have one at this location and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. The lady on the phone was very pleasant and very willing to help us. read more
