They then recommended a handful of local places to have the tire and wiper blade shipped to, showing what the installation cost would be. After checking out reviews I chose Tim's. I spoke with Tina at Tim's, who was very nice snd patient with me as I told her this was my first time using Tire Rack and Tim's. She explained how it would work. I got notified that my tire was delivered a day later and got an appointment a couple of days later at my convenience. The shop was modest in size compared to the dealership where I am used to going. The bill was also modest in size and no surprises from the price quoted by Tire Rack. The waiting area was quite pleasant, Like Tina. There was coffee, tea, fresh fruit, cakes and candy. Tootsie Roll pops among the goodies. I will confess to my age when I say that I enjoyed watching their "MeTv" which was playing a childhood favorite: Perry Mason. I even recognized the theme song at first which caught my attention. The work was done quickly and professionally. I recommend Tim's highly as well as Tire Rack. A good combination to help you beat the BIG dealership bills!

They disregard my request to put the tires on the Front, after I specifically said I need them on the front. They put the tires on the back and REFUSED to put them on the front as I requested and told me I just need to buy 2 more tires for the front.

I needed an oil change and for a newly purchased used car and my mechanic is closed on Sat. The…read moreservice was $100. A little pricey, but ok. In the waiting area I overheard a worker (on speakerphone) tell a cust his battery was "low" and needed replacing. The cust said install a good one. The worker told him that battery would cost $560+ it would be extra because it was not in stock. The customer was shocked and apprehensive. I decided to get my inspection done. After the inspector comes to the small waiting area filled with customers to tell a man his car failed inspection for wipers and tires, I decided NOT to get my car inspected. (After reading some other reviews, evidently it's common to have tires and wipers fail at this business. I told both workers. While I'm waiting the guy who failed was discussing the price for new tires. $1100+ for 4, not including alignment. He repeatedly was ignored when he told the guy he wanted a tire price "down the middle". He ended up only getting 2 tires for $860+. Later, the inspector comes to the full waiting area to tell ME my brakes are 1 and 2 points from a failure. She literal was trying to embarrass or frighten me into getting my brakes done. Even though I told her NOT to inspect my car she took it upon herself to do it anyway? Complimentary or not, this is NOT how you do things. I thanked her for info and continued waiting. Then, the young guy behind the counter is now off the phone and yells across the the room, "Why I'm not getting my brakes done? "What was I going to do?" Maybe he thought I had no options? I told him I would be taking my car to my own mechanic....I don't like these types of overpriced, hustling or intimidating tactics and I will not be returning.

I said, Pep Boys doesn't have valve stem caps? With a condescending/ monotone robotic response, we're service only, go up the street 15 mins to the Broomall/Marple store.. Normally I wouldn't make a big deal out of this but how hard Is it to be polite and show some customer service? I Just moved here, I had no clue PEP BOYS has retail and service only locations. Maybe a big sign out front that says service only location would be a good idea.. God forbid some poor soul goes in the store and ask a question and or asks confused.. If this is how the employees act when you walk in and ask for a simple valve stem cap, I can only imagine how you're treated when you need serious service. Take your money elsewhere.

They took it upon themselves to want to take out my air filters to show me how bad they were. The technician apparently did not know that the cabin air filter on this model is accessed through the glove box. Instead, they attempted to force access through the passenger footwell, resulting in the structural insulation/silencer panel being torn down and frayed. I found the panel sagging onto the floorboard with the mounting holes completely blown out and a metal fastener pin left on my floor mat. They attempted to hide this from me by covering it with my floor mat. They also told me the filter was more expensive due to the labor, ie them not knowing where the filter was located. When I returned to the lot to ask for a repair or a refund for the damage, the management looked at it for two seconds and told me "it's not going to get any better than that." They flatly refused to replace the damaged part (Mopar Part #68479544AA) or offer a refund. The interaction quickly turned hostile; I was spoken to rudely and told to leave the lot. I have photos showing the torn panel, the debris left behind, and the improper "fix." If you care about the interior of your vehicle or professional customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
