This place :-( I really wanted it to be good, but unfortunately it's not. The service was cordial but extremely slow and inattentive. My traveling experience has taught me not to be very picky when it comes to service so when I have a problem with the service, it means it's really bad...Especially for the prices. The food was the worst part though, the tapas were flavorless and the steaks came out tasting horrible. We had them cook our steaks and now I see why the majority of people around us ordered their steaks with the hot stone method where you cook it yourself. I'm convinced they don't have the facilities to cook a steak properly otherwise. My rib eye steak tasted like it was cooked on a flat top with old oil/grease on it, so it had a burnt grease taste to it. How do I know the taste?? Well as a teenager I worked in a restaurant and cooked on a flat top and I can tell when the flat top isn't cleaned properly to cook on it. Massive dissapointment. Also we never got our "three sauces" that are supposed to come with our steaks, none of us did. My brother ordered wine, we had to remind the waiter TWICE over the span of the entire meal. The fries had this Zaxbys-like seasoning on them like a fast food place (Zaxbys is a fast food spot in the American South)...I mean the fries were well cooked but at a joint like this all they need is gold ole traditional salt my friends, don't try to get cute with them. The pepper cream sauce was horrendous...completely flavorless. The only thing that tasted good was the mushrooms lol, I mean just the mushrooms. Maaan for the price I simply cannot recommend this place in ANY capacity. Not for Tapas, not for entrees, not for drinks. read more

There are no words. This place is beyond magnificent. We stumbled in here by accident because we saw all the bottles of wine and thought, "Gee, what a great wine selection." And then we saw the menu. Saturday evening after visiting the Christmas market and imbibing a few gluhweins, we were starving and ready to sit. Many restaurants were full and we had not made reservations, so we tried Buena Vista. The place was absolutely packed. We had 9 people in our party but the manager motioned us to two small tables that had just became free. Now, like I said, our party had nine people and we were told "the other two tables next to them will be free soon." We all crowded around the empty tables and we all felt like bullies, waiting for the group of diners to finish. Very uncomfortable! I actually apologized to them. They were kind and finished their beverages and left. The menu looked interesting, full of various tapas, meats and a salmon dish. We ordered several tapas for the table as well as several drinks. The waiter did not bring some of the tapas and acted mad that we asked. Believe me, the bill was more than enough to pay for his frustrations. Our food was ok, nothing amazing. The best were the sauteed mushrooms, which were better than the salmon. This restaurant was conveniently located next to the Christmas market and Galeria. If it wasn't, I am not sure how well they would do. I wouldn't return. read more

Buena Vista is awesome! We visit this "buena" place regularly since years. This place offers excellent service, in a great atmosphere, with amazing food and fantastic selection of beverages. After taking our order, the drinks and food came fast (always). We got one of the last two empty tables inside (they have a huge area outside). The place is always busy especially in the afternoon till late night during the week and mainly at the weekend (to make sure to get a table especially with more then two people you should book in advance). The price category is high but for this excellent service and awesome taste totally reasonable. Even though some people wear casual clothes its a classy place. Great for a romantic dinner with this cosy light and delicious wine. read more

Good ribeye steak here. It's cooked on a hot stone. Very tender, juicy, and delicious. We shared the steak and some cold cuts (Serano ham and salami) for starter. Filet steak + lava stone. We went here hungry, and ready for steak. My boyfriend spent two years living in Frankfurt, and I had heard many stories about his visits to Buena Vista. It did not disappoint. I had the 180g filet steak with a baked potato (and quark*) along with a side of peppercorn sauce. I chose to cook my steak myself at the table on a lava stone. What a fantastic idea. Every bite is sizzling hot, and cooked just the way I liked it. The meal also came with a trio of sauces. I have no idea the names of each, but all three were equally tasty. As I am a sauce aficionado I also thoroughly enjoyed the addition of the peppercorn sauce. The steak was a giant chunk of meat, and the quality was outstanding. I am use to Alberta beef, and I have no issues saying the quality was on par. Great value (considering location), big portions, lovely staff (hvala lijepo!). *maybe this is obvious to others (and those who frequent Germany) but quark is a delicious white chilled sauce, pretty much equivalent to sour cream. read more

Oh well I should have known that we probably won't get good Spanish tapas in or from a Germany restaurant. The majority of the food was not cooked fresh but reheated in probably a microwave. The only item that may possible had been cook fresh were the potatoes. We ordered the For Two Tapas for $27 euros. Not a bad price but probably worth a third based on quality a maybe half based on quantity. The wait was long and their wifi didn't work if you sat outside. I would not recommend this establishment to others. read more

Good tapas central Frankfurt. Good value. Very good tapas, decent wines, often crowded but the kitchen knocks out the plates pretty quickly. Service is good. Reasonably classy ambiance so could be a date place (but kinda loud). The Chorizo (in Sherry) and the Pulpo are to die for. Get those. Tortilla de Patatas only midling. read more

Had a lovely dinner at the Buena Vista in the heart of Frankfurt. They accommodate groups well and have large food and beverage menus. The tapas plate for two was huge with a wide variety of meat, seafood and vegetable offerings. Quality food and good service made for a great meal. One warning, don't sit at the tables against the side windows during the winter unless you are very cold because the floor heating seems to run extra hot on winter days and can be a bit uncomfortable. read more
