We ordered the Italian sausage penne pasta. There was maybe 4 pieces of sausage and not very much pasta. It was overwhelmed with onions and jalapeños and so much sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs was the same. A little meat and too much sauce. It was disappointing and we're hesitant to give them another try. The establishment is very loud with a boisterous crowd. I headed off across the Stateline (trusting my usually reliable Yelp directions) and found myself In beautiful and very rural MS. With the exception of a tire shop and an occasional mailbox there was nothing but trees and wildflowers. The directions told me to park on the highway and continue by foot...WHAT??? I could hear the banjos!!! I continued over the hill another 300 feet and there right on the highway was the little store. (Relief)! What I found inside wasn't the highest end selection of wines and beers but a beautiful proprietor named Rita. She was so delightful that I stayed and visited with her for over an hour. While I was there, several of the locals stopped in...not to buy anything but to tell Rita what was going on in their lives. She was kind and encouraging and I was struck by her beauty; inside and out. I'll be on the road home In a few days all stocked up, but you can bet next time I come to Red Bay, I'll take a little trip up to Russellville to see Rita.

I called about it said I could return it and I did thinking it was simple mistake on someone covering the exp date and me not removing all the stickers prior to buying. The older woman who checked me out said "well it was on the sale rack" as in I should know better? I still didn't consider having a place sell jars of food that far out of date. With that statement and the tone of her voice I felt maybe the date was covered intentionally to be deceitful? I wasn't even upset about it but felt hostility from the worker for returning it. Not sure I will be back to shop here due to this negative exchange and really disappointed in something that was an easy fix.
