We just moved to Florence and wanted to give this restaurant a try. We placed a pickup order through Door Dash because ordering through the restaurant's website was not available. When we arrived at the restaurant we were informed that they ran out of sub bread for the meatball sub. We changed our order to the spaghetti and meatballs. The staff were friendly and helpful. Now for the cons...our order was incomplete, which we should've checked prior to leaving. They left out the 2 salads that we ordered. The food was not that great. We ordered the Italian sausage penne pasta. There was maybe 4 pieces of sausage and not very much pasta. It was overwhelmed with onions and jalapeños and so much sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs was the same. A little meat and too much sauce. It was disappointing and we're hesitant to give them another try. The establishment is very loud with a boisterous crowd. The food is fantastic and plentiful. The atmosphere is friendly. Service is attentive and helpful. One of the most important things for us is the Health rating. Owner Bennett insures that The Rising Crust's ratings are always in the upper 90's. It shows in the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. We drove from Athens to eat here. Tried this place out again. This time they were open. We came in (party of 3) on bingo night. We had a good time but the food was lacking. Baked Zita-had a weird taste Pin wheels-they were really good Fried Ravioli-tha bomb! Cajun wings-not great at all. Husband and I really enjoy the pizza. The crust is just right. Not too thin, not too thick. The only thing I would change is that they put too much cheese on the pizza and use too much oil...or maybe there is so much grease because there is too much cheese? But you can always say easy on the cheese! I can't rate the service but they are super nice at the drive thru! We get takeout because it's a small place and my ears are too sensitive to be able to be inside when they have live music, but it's a plus that they do have it!! read more

This place has a nice interior and friendly waitstaff. The cheesy garlic bread was super yummy and was the highlight of our evening! The calzones are humongous and can easily be split between two, mom had the chicken bacon ranch but wasn't really impressed with it. I had the spinach pizza pie and thought it was good. Brother had the cheesesteak sub and he didn't really enjoy it. Don't go on Bingo night unless you like loud and obnoxious older people at the table next to you. They were obviously tipsy and one kept whistling shrilly for no reason at all. The older man thought he was funny and kept heckling the number reader. PS. Disappointed with tonight's experience. Usually the food and waitstaff are great. Unfortunately tonight we came in, got seated, and waited 25 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order. Once our drink order was taken and our drinks were brought to us we ordered and then waited. Understandably it will be a little bit of a wait because it's a Saturday night. We continued to wait just to be told 40 minutes later "sorry we don't have that." Extremely disappointed in the service and attitude of the server along with the excessive wait time just to be told we couldn't even get our food. read more

This is our favorite Sunday afternoon landing spot. The pizza is always great with amazing crust. We also enjoy the pepperoni pinwheels and lasagna. We got our order to go, so I don't know much of the atmosphere, but the food we ordered was great! We ordered 2 calzones, one meat and one chicken bacon ranch, mozzarella sticks, a Caesar salad and a meatball sub. Everything in our order was correct and hot when we picked it up. Never again will I ever eat at the rising crust as our pizza wasn't cut the the lady who took our order was absolutely rude and when we picked up turned the pizza completely sideways and when I called and spoke with a manager he proceeded to let me know it was our fault that the pizza wasn't sent out that way not worth $25 for ONE pizza read more

The Rising Crust is tucked away in the corner of a mini strip mall. We almost drove past it, but I'm glad we didn't. Pizza is a fairly good choice for food the night before a marathon race, so we stopped in for a pie and a drink. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in, but I never got the glass of red wine that I requested with my meal. Husband had a pepperoni and bacon pizza, and I got a personal size double pepperoni. It came with a literal pool of grease, which I sopped up with a handful of napkins. We bought some antacids at the Walmart near our hotel as a preventative measure. Still, it was tasty, and I would happily eat there again. Rising crust is one of the best pizza places in Florence. Their pizzas are amazing they have a Number of different sauces to put on their pizza not just pizza sauce butter and garlic olive oil white marinara and so on. They don't have just your typical cheese they put on they have a five cheese pizza that is to die for their toppings are always fresh. But my wife has ordered the baked ziti and it was very good. We were actually very impressed with the amount of food you get on your pasta dish. So we heard on the radio that our favorite little pizza joint was having a great musician or two in for the night to kick off Handy Week! Of course we had to head down and check it out! Not only is the atmosphere awesome as it is normally but it was even better with the fantastic music. I love seeing one of our favorite places doing such great business. You would think that because they are so small it would slow them down on service, heck no! They were still banging out pizzas, beers, and appetizers with no problems. I hesitated to come here after reading a few reviews but what a mistake that would've been! This little gem is such a wonderful little pizzeria. My first visit I had The Informant pizza. It was loaded with fresh veggies and meat. It was far superior to your "everything" pizza. Tonight's pizza was The Mussolini; chicken, artichoke hearts, spinach, Alfredo sauce, Asiago and feta cheese. It was amazing. Last but not least, the servers here are WONDERFUL! I've always had great service with each visit. Kudos to the hiring manager for quality staff. If you're on the fence about coming here like I was, you should really give it a try.
