Excellent coffee shop located on lower level of a historic building in Gothic quarter of Barcelona. My Capucinno was exceptional where it had a great balance of expresso to milk, with a rich creamy top that was just so tasty. The quality of the coffee drink with the ambiance of the setting, big exposed wood beams in the ceiling that tie into the stone walls, made for a nice memorable experience of my Barcelona trip! As a tip, After checking out the Barcelona Cathedral head here for a coffee break as it is pretty much around the corner from it. read more

So refreshing after a lot of meat and seafood-heavy local fare - we came twice, before and after visiting the Sagrada Família! We enjoyed the green minestrone, green juice, spinach and pea tarts, and veggie flatbreads. Some of the hot foods weren't quite reheated enough, but the freshness and flavor mostly made up for it. Great location, though the food is no better than a cheap cafeteria. It faces the front of the Sagrada Familia, making it an ideal spot to get sip of café con leche while enjoying the view. The coffee is decent, though I wouldn't recommend the food. I ordered the pasta, of which they simply took from the display and heated in the microwave. The lasagna was drenched in oil and inedible. Likewise, the focaccia was very bland and difficult to chew. This place is great for a quick pick me up/light snack, but don't expect a filling meal. read more

Not the most authentic Spanish food I had on this trip but definitely some flavorful food - and the strongest sangria to date! Have to admit the view of the Sagrada Familia was also pretty amazing while staying out of the heat and sipping on ice cold, strong sangria. While this is a chain, they definitely have a wide variety of food and drink choices. The service is fast, and the atmosphere is comfortable and very cozy. I found Buenas Migas listed on a site for "great cafes with WiFi near Sagrada Familia" - and despite the WiFi not working properly, we really enjoyed our late morning visit. We posted up at a table and enjoyed some espresso, and eventually a few of their pizza/flatbread pieces as a late morning snack. The place was relatively empty (it was mid November on a grey Saturday morning), but I'm sure this place gets super crowded during the nicer weather. We found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food & coffee was great, too. read more

Just lovely. We came to Barcelona for the famous landmarks but also for the food experience. We got them both here! They have a wonderful selection of Focaccias and a wonderful selection for desserts. We ended up ordering a pitcher of sangria which doesn't taste like anything I've ever had in the States and some of their tasty focaccias. Grab a cup of coffee or a pitcher of sangria and just sit and watch all the people go by in Gotic City. read more

A superb collection of sweet and savory food items. Solid coffee products too, we had a cappuccino and espresso. Very rare to have a good food place in a busy tourist location but this is definitely one. Whattay location for a place. Has a better view than most, if not all Michelin star restaurants out there. It was raining cats and dogs when we were inside the Sagrada Familia and we could easily cross the street in a few seconds to get here because we were dying of hunger. We stopped here one day for lunch as we walked around the area. We purchased spinach quiche, a salad and plain focaccia. Everything was DELICIOUS, especially that quiche! The food and 2 bottles of water was only about €12, so on top of being delicious it was a great bargain. Went back for dinner a day later on got the lasagne this time... it was a slice of HEAVEN!! Great café! Definitely a favorite. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. Service was a bit slow, but not excessively. I had pesto pasta for lunch--marvelous and perfect portion. My friend had a 'bombs chocolate' (chocolate cake) and it was very dense and rich--nothing special but delicious nonetheless. Bonus for American tourists--this café allows for take-out coffee, though with such a lovely setting and directly across from Sagrada Família, it's worth taking your time for the meal! read more
