Great steak on tuesdays. They have 15$ steak deal with chips and a salad and it's one of the better steaks I've had in brisbane. Ambience is wooden furniture bar style. Feels casual and well designed. Typical themed pub. Kept very clean the few times I've gone. Great deals on weekdays. I would say come after work or on lunch breaks. Starters - Chicken Wings (Wet - Sriracha & Garlic) - The Chicken Wings were nice and juicy but the flavour was totally different and I didn't get what I was looking for. Wings were a bit sweet and I never got any Garlic flavour but the Ranch dressing and celery was delicious!! Not a fan. The wings I saw were complete with drum, flat and tip. I've only seen this in Texas, Dallas specifically where it was a gimmick, huge wings with about a full chicken worth of meat on each. I have if course seen it in Australia, it shouldn't be called Buffalo wings, those are flats or drums only. This all being said, I didn't even bother with the wings. I had a chicken sandwich/burger which I enquired upon (called "Big Bird")- was it a chicken breast? To which I was told it was. It was not. It was thigh like I've seen at many places, claiming the best chicken burger. It was poor... If not terrible. Not sure where the Buffalo sauce came from. Or Buffalo fried... Whatever that means. Just be safe people, import some Frank's red hot. This was not that... From what I could taste. Service was fine. This has nothing to do with service. This is about claiming a USA experience but not even coming close. Popcorn chicken was also thigh, maybe a bit of breast off cuts but mostly thigh. I was disappointed. Was really excited about heading to this place on the first night. Went with some friends from work who are more than familiar with the wing offering around Brisbane. We couldn't get a table at the restaurant so we had some drinks and wings at the bar. As most of you would do this used to be the location of the Belgian Beer Café, a really great old building. New owners had a great chance to do something really cool with the interior but alas it's hardly changed. With the way it's laid out its really not going to work and verge on uncomfortable once you get a Friday night crowd in here, but that's not the real problem. Wings here were terrible, verging on average! We tried 5 of the 19 or so flavours, of which could be described as weak (buffalo) mediocre (dry garlic) burnt (cola salt toffee) and underwhelming (BBQ). But by far the worst were the pictured "hellhound bad boys". After the bland buffalo wings we thought the next level of hot, but these were biological weapons of mass destruction. I can normally handle hot with the better of them but these were stupid. With any luck it was first night jitters, but I woulda thought they'd start with a bang, not a whimper from the seasoned proprietors of Mighty Mighty. Not heading back in a hurry. read more

Top burgers, fries and fish n chips. Nice decor andfun games. Good beer and cider. Fun place to eat.

The venue's nice and spacious, with tones of light blue and brown. Great for groups. The service is pretty good. Food usually comes out in about 15 minutes and the wait staff always seem to be in good spirits and friendly. The chicken wings are cooked well. Nice and tender. Flavour-wise, my favourite would have to be the chipotle and garlic salt (so far). It's super tasty. Their hoagies are quite amazing as well. The Southern Gent is delicious, with a yummy buttermilk slaw, soft bun and fried chicken. The onion rings and sweet potato fries are hands down some of the best I've had :) Will definitely be back for more. read more

My American boyfriend who loves his American beer and wings keeps taking me here. I am surprised at the very low rating as this place is not too bad. I wouldn't come here if I wanted a proper sit down dinner as 1) it's difficult to get a table if you haven't reserved one and 2) the menu is quite small - consisting of mostly wings and hoagies (some kind of sandwich) and fries. However if you just want a light meal and a wide choice of American imported beer, this would be the place to go to. I have been there twice - it's always lively and the service is reasonably fast. Just a note - the chicken 'wings' are very small - about the length of your index finger and comes in a multitude of flavour both wet and dry. Of the ones I've had, I thought they were all well flavored - some better than the others but not anything super special. Definitely don't get the super chili ones ....my boyfriend and his colleagues had it and he told me they were in a lot of pain the day after .... read more

As disappointed as I was to hear of the Belgian Bier Cafe closing, I was excited nonetheless that there was (albeit another) American-themed establishment opening. We went for a work dinner last night, with a party of 6, for food and drinks. I hadn't chosen the place, but always love trying out new places. The menu is very disappointing for vegetarians or anyone who doesn't want to consume a whole day's worth of calories in one plate. I do suppose this is kind of fair - seeing as it's main fare is chicken wings, and Americans aren't the healthiest bunch. But if you can have a half dozen different meals of every meat surely it's possible to have more than one substantially sized meat-free item on the menu. Luckily though, the Cured Butternut Squash main was delicious, so they are somewhat forgiven (supported by their Jalepino poppers which were a solid 6.5/10). The quinoa and kale mix was divine and could have been a smaller meal on it's own. The wine and beer list is extensive, and priced similarly to all other bars in the city that cater to the city suits. All of the staff were polite, efficient and a pleasure to be around. All in all though, it's pretty lackluster. The Bavarian Bier cafe left some pretty big clogs to fill - but as I said before, ANOTHER American-themed restaurant (that will surely fail as soon as this phase passes) isn't too much to write home about. read more

Very friendly staff. Not sure why the have Coors on tap, that was odd. We were there on vacation and the staff set us up for the rest of the trip by suggesting places to adventure. I had the steak special which was cooked correctly and had a delicious flavor. I would definitely go again due to the great staff and food. read more

Unfortunately the new buffalo bar doesn't stand up to the supposed American standard Ordered the "Philly Baby" served on a stale seeded role with it was generally just warm to cold in some parts not like a traditional Philly cheese steak sandwich. Lacking cheese and the fries came cold. I addressed the matter with waitstaff hot chips were delivered with an apology soon afterward I've certainly had better Philly cheese steaks in America with a far cheaper price tag too. Friend ordered the fish role that too was so heavily battered you had to eat mouthfuls of batter the entire way. Beers are great but bring your credit card. Our team went here for our xmas lunch. There were 20 of us on a Tuesday and were placed on 3 tables, some of us facing others backs. We had 2 gluten free staff who pointed out to the waiter how the "gf" labelled meals on the menu were not in fact gf. One of them ended up with plain grilled chicken with no flavouring and a corn cob. They gave her coleslaw as well which she had to return as there was dressing on it. You get the drinks at the bar yourself, which is one of the problems when you are in the middle of a row of 4 people against the wall. I can't speak for the alcohol but lemon lime bitters were $4 each. The food was a disappointment. Most of us ordered the wings. Sitting next to someone who ordered the lemon pepper while I had the jerk, we pretty much saw it was exactly the same except for what they sprinkled onto the wings. As far as I could tell, they hadn't tossed the wings through the seasoning as it only seemed powdery top side. The wings were dry, not at all juicy or tasty. Served with my 8 wings were a few very sad looking strips of celery. The number of strips were under 10, and they were cut into a variety of odd shapes. Come on, even aunty May catering for a chips n dip party knows how to cut celery sticks. We had all arrived by 12.05 but at 12:50 our boss got up, left her money and went back to the office, unserved. Half of us had got meals by then. A number of us then got up to leave and the two guys who had ordered ribs, two lots of wings and something else were just getting their meal. They ate what they could quickly then asked for take out but were told it was not really permitted but they would ask the kitchen. I was somewhat appalled by that. If they were going to not be able to serve us on time, and not permit take out, they could have refunded the boys for having to eat after most of the group had left. I'm sad to say, it's quaint and clean, it has friendly staff, but there isn't anything there for me to go back to try again. read more

After reading an article in the Newspaper of the restaurants imminent opening and hearing about what they were to have on offer ...wing flavours galore with American craft beers on tap. Count me in. Now, if you aren't aware of the old Belgian Beer Cafe and its location. It's a good spot, a pity that the Buffalo Bar didn't endeavor to increase street signage with an initial drive past making me guess whether this was in fact the location. As for the interior, no change here. Just the same, retaining some of that awkward fixed table seating with the odd bar table and stool. If you want a quieter atmosphere you'll have to mosey on outside. Higher than average bar food prices with the Hoagies and wings priced in the mid to late $10 range. My choice: 'The Texan' hoagie with Bacon, Cheddar and Chives wings accompanying. I was unfortunately let down by them both. Bread to Meat ratio far too high on the hoagie and the dry rub being more of a 'nibble' size with the aforementioned flavouring sprinkled on top. The service raised my star rating with both great bar service, food coming out quickly and still hot (hadn't been sitting on the pass dropping to room temp) I didn't leave hungry but I also didn't leave satisfied either. read more

We were greeted by a lovely girl at the outside bar with a smile and a hello. I thought well this might be alright. Boy was I ever wrong. The waiter was arrogant and impatient, he scratch his privates and then placed cuttlery on the table. He rubbed his crotch on my wifes cuttlery and also pushed me out of the way to lean across the table for another guest. I could go on and on but all you really need to know, is we ordered the sandwiches, they took about an hour to come out to the table, they got the order incorrect, they forgot to order one of the sandwiches, they charge premium price. As for the quality of the food, I could of gotten a subway foot long in 3 minutes that tasted better for half the price. No apology was made for the incorrect order, no appology was made for the missed sandwich, just an response which pretty much equated to "Oh well, Shit happens". Went here purely for the MacDoggy and hubby was definitely not disappoined! The sweet potato fries we ordered with it were delicious as well. Unfortunately for me, being gluten and dairy free there wasn't much for me to choose from without being a pain in the ass, so I went for the Chicken salad. It was a decent sized serving and the dressing was delicious but I was slightly disappointed with the lack of chicken in it (I would take a guess at 1/4 of a chicken breast). Overall is was good for a novelty treat and the atmosphere is fantastic. A longer than expected wait time considering how quiet it was and the food ordered, but friendly staff and filling and well priced meal made up for it. read more

Ok so 4th of July party is a nice gesture but at least hang up the flags the right way. Also when you order a full order of wings and you ask for two types of wings they make you order 2 half order that combined costs 4 dollars more and then only come out with half the sides.... Came here as I was being taken out for lunch and looking forward to it, unfortunately for me. Orders were taken reasonably quickly by a very friendly waitress, but food for the 4 of us took almost an hour. The fried smoked chicken was disgustingly dry and there were only four small pieces. The potato salad was good, but again, a very small portion. We ordered fries and onion rings as a starter, yet these came out about 2 minutes before the mains. They would have been nice if not for the thick layer of salt and seasoning on them, it was sickening. We persevered though and ordered dessert. By this time the restaurant was almost empty, yet it took over half an hour for 3 desserts to come out. The sweet dog was awful. Bun too sweet, ice cream had too much fake banana flavour and there was no candied bacon. The cherry bombe Alaska had no cherries, though the cheesecake ice cream special was reasonably good, but had a very sweet sauce on the bottom. Overall an extremely disappointing experience (my second here). Won't ever be back. read more

The food at this place is awesome! Went here Friday night after work, great selection of beers and cocktails and tasty treats. Ordered the beef brisket and onion rings, melt in the mouth deliciousness - more than enough to share with my lovely wife. Great service too, no waiting and reasonably priced. read more

I came here with my mother to stop in for some American beers that we were missing during our trip, and wow, we should have just walked right out. The service wasn't very good, and it was during a hurricane on a weekday. There was no reason for service to be so poor. The drinks were alright, but I've had better drinks for better prices elsewhere. The atmosphere is like a wannabe Applebee's, not impressive. The outdoor area is oddly structured and indoor seems very closed off. Some of the people who were talking to us were making us quite uncomfortable as well, and there was no security to make them leave. It seemed to be a popular place, but I haven't gone back since nor do I plan to. read more

I was so looking forward to visiting this place - what a disappointment! At least four of our drink choices which were on the menu weren't actually available - maybe they should use a blackboard instead of a printed menu. Plus $12 a schooner is really pushing the goodwill. The buffalo wings were a joke, especially if you've ever been in the States and had the real thing. Expensive at $12 for 8 or $20 for 16. We wanted to order 16 wings with half one dry flavour and the other half another dry flavour. Told we couldn't do that since it was too hard for the chef and we'd have to buy two 8x orders at $12 each. It's only an extra 4 bucks but it leaves a bad taste. When the wings turned up they were exactly the same only with different flavour sprinkles, most of which didn't actually adhere to the wings. Of which wings were extremely small & scabby. Plus the space is extremely noisy. It was only moderately busy but the level of background noise is excessive. I won't be coming back and will be recommending to friends to not bother. read more

I am not the type of person to complain... Ever. Being a server in the past I know how challenging this job can be and that things are not always your fault, but you have to take the rap for it. However, tonight was the utmost awful experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. The second we walked in there was a sour vibe from our hostess/waitress. We needed to ask a question about the menu before sitting and she just had zero patience for us. It was one question lady. We were seated in the dining area, granted there were 8 of us (big parties are annoying, yes) but there was no reason for us to be treated sourly. We sat at our table for at least 20 minutes before being asked for our order or even drinks. Meanwhile the table next to us who was sat after us already had their order taken and drinks delivered. Once our order was taken (at this point we had been sitting at the table for probably 30 minutes) we still waited 10 minutes for our drinks to even be delivered (cokes people it's not that hard). So now we're at 40 minutes waiting in total, thus far. We did not receive our food until an hour and a half of sitting at the table. We discussed leaving (something I would never contemplate but with this service I was ready). NOT ONCE did our server come over and apologize, keep us updated or anything. In fact she didn't come to our table once between taking our order and bringing our food. Finally we asked about it to which she told us that it would be up next.... Yeah right, another 20 minutes went by. FINALLY we got our food. AND IT WAS COLD, Tasted mediocre, my chicken wings had blood in them, my friend's steak which she asked for medium was practically still breathing. Such a disgrace. When we complained about all of this she said she would talk to her manager. Which we saw her do. To which then he didn't even come over and apologize for the food, terrible service, wait, etc. We got zero apology from him or staff. When it was time to pay we weren't even offered a discount we had to ask for one. Which when we did the waitress looked at us like we were crazy! We just waited 1.5 hours for undercooked cold food!!!! I am appalled. Honestly the worst dining experience of my life will never return and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more
