Was really excited about heading to this place on the first night. Went with some friends from work who are more than familiar with the wing offering around Brisbane. We couldn't get a table at the restaurant so we had some drinks and wings at the bar. As most of you would do this used to be the location of the Belgian Beer Café, a really great old building. New owners had a great chance to do something really cool with the interior but alas it's hardly changed. With the way it's laid out its really not going to work and verge on uncomfortable once you get a Friday night crowd in here, but that's not the real problem. Wings here were terrible, verging on average! We tried 5 of the 19 or so flavours, of which could be described as weak (buffalo) mediocre (dry garlic) burnt (cola salt toffee) and underwhelming (BBQ). But by far the worst were the pictured "hellhound bad boys". After the bland buffalo wings we thought the next level of hot, but these were biological weapons of mass destruction. I can normally handle hot with the better of them but these were stupid. With any luck it was first night jitters, but I woulda thought they'd start with a bang, not a whimper from the seasoned proprietors of Mighty Mighty. Not heading back in a hurry.

The venue's nice and spacious, with tones of light blue and brown. Great for groups. The service is pretty good. Food usually comes out in about 15 minutes and the wait staff always seem to be in good spirits and friendly. The chicken wings are cooked well. Nice and tender. Flavour-wise, my favourite would have to be the chipotle and garlic salt (so far). It's super tasty. Their hoagies are quite amazing as well. The Southern Gent is delicious, with a yummy buttermilk slaw, soft bun and fried chicken. The onion rings and sweet potato fries are hands down some of the best I've had :) Will definitely be back for more.

Ok so 4th of July party is a nice gesture but at least hang up the flags the right way. Also when you order a full order of wings and you ask for two types of wings they make you order 2 half order that combined costs 4 dollars more and then only come out with half the sides.... This place gets one star for the beer selection and one for the cute bar mades.

Oh my complete goodness!!

Busy today - just before Christmas, but great food. The corn was freaking amazing!! Cool atmosphere. Enjoyed the meal and drinks

We called ahead to book a table, though when we arrived we realised that it was more of a fast food establishment than a restaurant. The waitress was very friendly, she provided us with the menus and explained how we needed to go up to the counter to place the order. She recommended that we try the Pit Master Pack, since we had not eaten there before. This goes for $59.95, and the two cans of soft drink ended up costing a good $7. The Pit Master Pack consisted of ribs, quite a few buffalo wings, hand pulled pork, coleslaw and fries. It is a good serving for two people. I am not the biggest chicken wing fan, though enjoyed them, apart from there being a bit too much sauce. We chose the cheese covered fries, though they weren't that great, we probably should have gone with the plain fries. The food was nice, though far from mind blowing, which made the pricing hard to justify. We left a bit unsatisfied in terms of how full we were, and how much everything cost, even with the voucher. I personally wouldn't visit here again, it is not for me. I would only recommend this establishment to someone who was really into buffalo wings and ribs.

Seriously, the food here is not cheap. BUT - it is bloody good. When our order arrived my eyes drank in the beauty of my pulled beef roll, while hubby rubbed his hands with glee over his chilli hot dog and loaded fries. And the first bite made the pain of the cost fade away- amazing. Well worth it! In fact despite being hungry I I couldn't eat the whole thing as the servings are generous. When this joint first opened there were lines out the door and long waits, but we were one of only three diners at lunchtime today. The cute checked tablecloths and mustard with ketchup on the tables adds to the US of A atmosphere, the only downside to the location on a nice day is being serenaded by the traffic on the main road. Two thumbs up for the food. My wallet is still hurting but at least I'm so full I won't want dinner tonight.

The name 5 Boroughs is inspired by New York's five boroughs, which are Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. The name is an interesting choice, since most Australians wouldn't know what a borough is. Moving on to the food, I have eaten here twice so far, and enjoyed both the 5B Chicken burger and the 5B Hot burger, which contains grass-fed Mandalong beef. The food is in a similar price range to Grill'd, though I would say that the burgers are a bit smaller. Both indoor and undercover outdoor seating is available, and as the premises are licensed, this would be a good place to go with mates on a weeknight or on the weekend. Plenty of parking is available at the Stones Corner Village parking lot.

Never again will I slum it through the drive thru of a golden arch for a cheeseburger fix. This was the real deal - there was even coleslaw on this puppy. The bun was toasted to a crisp perfection, the right balance of ketchup to mustard and a meat patty that had some oomph to it. Carolina Kitchen is a family business owned by an expat from South Carolina, Mike Perry, located on a quiet suburban street in Coopooroo. Already there is a massive following on their Facebook group, with regulars and new comers singing their praises for the Buffalo Wings and BBQ Ribs. Both times I've been for a Saturday lunch, we've booked to save us a table. The place fills up quickly, so if you have more than 2 people, I would definitely suggest booking ahead of time. The BBQ ribs are so juicy and covered in sauce, and the Buffalo wings pack a punch with the original spicy sauce. Dip the wings in the blue cheese dipping sauce to cool your mouth. They have a wide variety of different flavoured Coke, Dr Pepper and Fanta - flavours you don't usually get in Australia. Cherry Dr Pepper tastes like sugary baby Panadol, but I love it! For a serious feed you can either go with one of the Hoagies - a sandwich on a long, Sub roll - or a burger "All The Way". That means everything including onions. There's cheeseburgers, chicken burgers and hamburgers, as well as Hot Dogs. Unfortunately, during my last visit they didn't have any Pie for sale, but quite often they will be selling a Pumpkin, Cherry or Pecan pie by the slice. I did manage to place an order for a Pumpkin pie to take home for Christmas. $30 for a whole sweet pie - traditional American style Pumpkin pie!

When we looked at the menu for Roasties or mouths were watering as everything sounded amazing. Ribs -chicken - rolls - flavour fries - American sweets and drinks, it all seemed amazing, despite the low-high varying prices, but sadly as most things seem, it was too good to be true. My company and myself ordered the pulled pork, country styled chicken, and the Philly cheese steak roll and New York flavour fries. The first downfall, the meal sizes were rather small, they did not seem plentiful at all as if there was an attempt for the meals to be sophisticated in a restaurant people would go to for greasy delicious food. Sadly the arrangement didn't work. On a positive note the fries came is large portions and we're definitely the standout. The New York fries came covered in Cheese-wiz, sour cream, bacon and shallots, it was amazing and they were delicious. Besides them getting cold rather quickly, they were amazing and I would gladly order them take-away in the future. Sides that came with meals were not tasteful at the slightest unless you had peculiar tastes, and again were in extremely small portions. I feel harsh leaving such comments on a place with such high potential but I can only be honest. Roasties is an American BBQ restaurant with amazing potential and a great looking menu. If portion sizes can be adjusted, prices can suit food quality, and food can be hotter, then Roasties can definitely be an amazing restaurant.

I really enjoyed my breakfast, as the chunks of medium-well smoked salmon complemented the saltier zucchini fritters (they were a bit too salty). The poached eggs also balanced out the saltiness of the fritters, and the creme fraiche was surprisingly a tasteful addition. Greaser's shtick is, well, a 50s American greaser bar. Think of the kind of place James Dean and the Fonz would have a beverage. Between all of us, my group of friends ordered everything off the menu. I ordered the fried chicken. The coating was KFC-like but with interesting spices in it - I think it may have been dukkah. Unlike KFC, I didn't feel sadness and regrets afterwards - it was really delicious. Serves generally American food and drinks? Check. Craft beer? Check. Much edgier barstaff than you are? Check? Down an alley? Check. Johnny Cash on the stereo? Check and check. I wanted to go because I wanted to try it but with some recent rock bottom experiences with other bars in this vein I kept expectations set to low. There is nothing particularly original about Greasers. American food stopped being a revelation a while ago, and frankly is starting to grate a little. Bloody Marys and Picklebacks are having a real moment right now so people are slinging them at you anywhere you go. And craft beer? You can now actually get it with breakfast some places. The fact that these are everywhere does not in any way diminish their appeal. I like burgers, I love bloody marys, and I enjoy brine more than is entirely reasonable. And these offerings are made all the more appealing by Greaser. The space itself is lovely with ample couch seating and booths, elegantly low lighting that isn't seedy and the mid-century music that is curated rather than cloying. Special mention must be made of the staff. During our visit they were uniformly incredibly polite, attentive and very very pleasant to deal with. Knowledgeable about the drinks behind them and able to mix an excellent cocktail. These are the sort of staff we should see more of and who should be clutched like rare diamonds by bar owners. Special shout to the woman with the tattoos and undercut. She mixed what is easily the best bloody mary I've had in Brisbane. Served on bourbon with plenty of hot sauce, this was living and this was living well. Greaser also has a top flight tequila selection which is really great to see. It's wonderful that more places are experimenting with tequila and incorporating it into more than shots, which is a really barbaric way to treat a drink of such complexity. One of our group hailed from Mexico City so this was a blessed relief. My ex is Mexican and nothing says 'Australians are completely clueless about soft racism' than taking someone's national drink and letting bogans punch it until they fall over Here the reposada is served in appropriate glassware and all is good. The troubles with on-trend establishments are just like the troubles of any other establishment, poor staff, wrong price point, sub-par offerings etc. The problem is when a venue is also tricked up there can be a gloss over it that keeps people coming back for no particularly great reason other than to be seen to enjoy themselves. Greaser suffers for none of this. This is a bar that is serious about being a bar. All venues need an edge. But as more and more venues in Brisbane slide from creative to kitsch it is deeply refreshing to see a venue like Greaser that maintains an interesting point but does it with a laser like focus on great service, great décor, great drinks and great food. It's a real credit to the group behind this venture. I'll be back. A lot.
