They brought in fans and drying equipment immediately and worked after hours without hesitation to prevent further damage. From the beginning, it was clear this company operates differently. Russ is one of the most honest people I've come across in the construction world. He's been doing this work in Colorado Springs for decades and has never strayed from his values- he fights for the customer and takes every job personally. Hunter, our project manager, communicated clearly throughout the process, and Bert helped keep the momentum going when the schedule got tight. Their labor crew was respectful, hard-working, and took real pride in the job. They weren't just there to clock in- they were there to help. No mess left behind, no attitude, just solid work from people who care. Buffalo Builders is a true local company. I had a kitchen fire recently and Buffalo Builders was reliable, fast, and so helpful for me and my family. They were able to ozone my house to get rid of all the residual smoke and they rebuilt everything above and beyond my expectations, really making my dream kitchen come back to life. Shoddy work on a fire restoration/remodel. Kitchen cabinets hung uneven, poor tile work, grout is extremely dirty (they sealed the new grout dirty), interior doors cut too short, hole in kitchen counter top by sink. Overall very very poor quality Craftsmanship. Charles at Buffalo Builders told me everything looks the way it does to include the dirty grout because "they remodel back to original prior to the fire"...I said, oh even assuming the dirt was present, huh"???? I cant argue with stupid so here is my review instead. read more

On Fathers Day, we were hit with a horrible hail storm that caused flooding in our basement. It was literally raining from the ceiling in one of the rooms. Buffalo Builders was at our house within 4 hours of the first call (this was on a Sunday) with fans and dehumidifiers. Shea and Robert checked on the room throughout the week to ensure that there wasn't damage or mold. We are so thankful for their hard work and knowledge. read more

My experience with Buffalo Builders has been nothing but professional. Russ is a local contractor who has assisted the community for decades in its needs of disaster restoration. I wouldn't trust anyone from out of town to repair hail or flood damage after a big storm. Buffalo Builders has been around and will continue to be here, unlike so many of the carpet bagging, fly by night outfits that pop up when disaster strikes southern Colorado. Terrible! Scam! Dishonest! This company was recommended by my insurance company. I had a simple deck replacement job. No changes in the footprint, or design. I was told 6-8 business days with good weather. 1. The job took six months to complete. 2. My untrained eye caught many mistakes and outright shoddy work. 3. The scam coordinator Jack never responded to calls or questions. 4. After they finished, I could not get them to send a bill; this was later discovered they billed the insurance for DOUBLE the quote. 5. They never sent the warranty in the mail. 6. The scam owner Russ tried to bill for work never agreed in the contract; he never returns calls. PLEASE never do business with these dishonest, deplorable, and dangerous people. RUN away! read more

Buffalo builders was recommended to me by my insurance company after my house had terrible water damage. If you are unlucky enough to be recommended this company, run the other way! Buffalo builders was the 2nd worst contractors I've ever worked with; for the worst, see my other review for the worst. Jack, Mike, and Russ are the most unprofessional, scammy contractors I've ever seen and had the displeasure of working with. They took 6 weeks after the damage was caused to even start work; when they finally started work, they started putting up sheetrock without insulation! I knew enough about construction to know that there needed to be insulation behind the walls. When I complained to them about this, it took them days to even acknowledge there was a problem. That was how most contact with them went - I would call and it would go straight to voicemail, and it'd take days to get in touch with them, even for something as important as this. They never reply to e-mail. I started to realize something was fishy, so I went and did some research; I found that they hadn't even pulled a permit for the work they were doing. City of boulder municipal code 10-7-2(b) requires that any construction modifying more than 500 sqft have a permit be pulled; buffalo builders was being negligent and unlawful by doing a job this large without a permit. When I confronted them with this, they told me that "that's not the way we interpreted the law"; and this point I was done with them, and fired them. Then the real fun started - they sent me fraudulent bills which included double charges for things, as well as for work that was done without a permit; after pushing them for over a year and involving my insurance company, they finally sent me a signed form agreeing to the charges they had reported to the insurance company. I sent them a check, and as soon as they received it (in spite having a signed form agreeing to the charges!), they sent me another bill. Lucky for me, the state of Colorado doesn't allow them to place a lien as it's been more than 6 months since they completed the work. We used Buffalo Builders for mold mitigation and construction/restoration after our house flooded. One of the main reasons I chose BBI was due to its DKI membership. The mold mitigation team came the day after I called. Trevor led this team. My husband & I agree that Trevor provided the best customer service we've ever received from any company - which is saying a lot! Trevor communicated with us thoroughly and often about every aspect of the work. His team was efficient & friendly. They were all respectful to each other and to us. It was amazing! That's how company's should behave when they come into people's homes. Charlie led the construction team. He is a hard worker and affable. His team did inadvertently break some items during the remodel, but replaced them. Their work is good. The only thing that keeps me from ranking BBI with 5 stars is the length of time it took the 2nd team to complete the work. I believe they are so swamped with work that they get backlogged. But I'd rather use a great team that takes longer than a poor team that will do substandard work quickly. I highly recommend Buffalo Builders, Inc. I hope we never need them again, but if we do, I would call them immediately! read more

Buffalo Builders helped us during a very stressful time. It was Mother's Day (so a Sunday), and our basement flooded due to a sump pump failure. Insurance did not cover the damage. BBI showed up ASAP with a dumpster, and they began the long process of clearing out the carpet, cutting drywall, boxing valuables, and throwing away ruined items. They did not leave that first day until everything was cleared. We have a son with respiratory problems, and they knew that we were worried about mold. They sprayed an all natural product to keep it from growing. We had fans and dehumidifiers running constantly. The project manager checked in frequently to check the level of dampness. It took a long time to dry out, and they were honest about that from the start. Once the work could continue, they found a drywaller who could match the texturing that remained on the walls. The house is old so there aren't many people who know how to do the old texture. Our space is better than it was before the flood. We are very happy with the communication, the quality of the work, and the level of professionalism provided by BBI. read more

Terrible, Do not use these guys unless you like brutal frustration. We had some water damage from a hot water heater that leaked. The first Project Manager (PM) I spoke with said they could get started right away which was good. Of course we have great insurance (State Farm) so all would be covered other than my deductible. They had no problem getting right on the job, to tear the shit out of my house, but I had been down this road before. I was told the remodel work would take about 6 weeks after start to begin but I know how this works, because, I have experienced it once before. They had the demo work done in about 4 weeks so I asked if they could get started sooner, no answer from the PM in charge of the remodel. After multiple calls to his cell phone, texts, and e-mails, I called the office. The useless PM was in his office!!!! Was told that the original date of 6 weeks would stand. I asked to speak to the Demo PM, was told, "He no longer works here." Couldn't get an answer as to why??? Was he fired for stealing stuff from homes, better job offer, did he die, it was a total secret. Very disingenuous, I mean if he got a better job tell me, right? Even the workers, (whom I bought lunch for) refused to speak of it, smelled of a cover up. Days went by, no workers. Again, cell calls, texts, etc. Again I called the main office and they had 2 guys come out the next day. Took forever for the work to get done. I made some simple requests which were ignored (I.E., put a drain pan diverting future leaks to the crawl space under the new water heater.) The rebuild PM was a JOKE. I can't express this enough, a TOTAL joke, the Invisible Man. Never came out for a final walk through. And guess what? The bill was exactly what they projected to my insurance, they couldn't (would not) shave a thin dime off the bill, insurance money I guess they believe. The ONE, and the ONLY highlight is that the reconstruction guy, Drew, was a hell of a guy. Hope he gets a job with a better company, these guys suck. ZERO stars. read more

Hit by a major storm with tennis ball size hail. Broke both skylights and damaged roof and vents. Happened about 10 PM. The crew was out and working on sealing the leaks by midnight. Very efficient and courteous. Arranged to return in morning to reassess and plan repairs. read more

My basement bathroom had water back up that flooded the bath room and part of the hallway. Buffalo Builders (BB) were there within an hour and started getting the job cleaned up. Then they suspected asbestos and brought in a company right away to remove all the asbestos which turned out to be walls and tile flooring in half the basement. BB Team foreman Don brought in a team of very good, detailed oriented professionals that made the whole experience easy, comfortable and seamless. Drew, Cody and Viola did an awesome job laying down the new flooring, installing beadboard, carpentry and painting. Angelia, Maria and John were the best packing and moving team I ever worked with. They were very fast and organized, they completed in one day what any other team would have taken days to do with no breakage. I can't say enough about Don and his team at Buffalo Builders, they are my go contractors from now on because I know the job will get done right. read more

Incompetent absolutely Incompetent, april 2014 hailstorm, USAA recommended Buffalo Builders. As advised I went with Buffalo Builders, they replaced my roof. NEVER EVER go with Buffalo Builders. NEVER. Now May of 2015 my roof still leaks, and as we progress in time and as I have dealt with many of their employees now they are becoming more and more rude to me on the phone and in person. As if I am trying to cause them problems. My roof still leaks!!! It has been almost a year now and every time it rains I have to wonder if my roof is going to give or hold. Most of the time the roof leaks and then I have to deal with rude and non caring employees. Do not EVER go with Buffalo Builders. EVER. read more
