It's wonderful for an education and has rated number one for many years in the parochial high school element. They've lost their personality. It's all about maintaining status. My daughter chose this school for the wrong reasons. It's cool location. I prepaid her freshman year and was beset by calls from her guidance counselor saying that she is just not up to par. She is not good enough to stay. No offer of reimbursement for tuition paid...just remove her. Also, her purse was taken. Nardin not responsible. The agnst that this small school caused was long lasting. Her lost purse, sans cell fone and personal touch cafeteria card, was returned albeit 4 months later. Guidance counselor is long gone, I believe her sole purpose in life was to bother individuals. Her office, in the lower part of the building, was the smoking lounge when I attended. Cool school, be careful.

My biggest issue with this place is that I prepaid the tuition, It wasn't excessive however I've started receiving emails - not intended for me- from parents who are requesting money back because they and their children did not attend. Odd. My daughter was informed that if her children even exhibited a slight tendency towards sickness......STAY AWAY!!! The lunches are horrid, and I don't think they serve real food. Kids here are always fighting, yelling, and no maintained order. (Because nobody really cares if a student is injured or not.) The bullying was NON-STOP, I had to endure kids calling me names, and my friends (who luckily dropped out of the school) had to be aggressively pushed around like they don't matter for several years. Kids are literally HOMOPHOBIC and could not even handle sitting next to a person who was "gay." The transportation? Inconsistent. The buses pick you up so late, and I know that because I once went home at FIVE when school ended at two. The principles don't know anything, and no counselors either. Whenever there is an issue with bullying or harassment (Which I've been a victim of) The principle doesn't do anything to prevent it, even though it's his job to mainly protect the school, and there is no help to go to. No counselors, no social workers or anything. No staff team members and last I remember, no security. You were probably alone if anything happened in that school. And I know that because I know the principle personally. You are probably no where near safe anywhere in the school anyways. The teaching curriculum is just... confusing? Teachers don't teach, kids don't learn, no progress is being made and report card averages plummet anyways. And that also leads to exams and advanced classes, which is I have not heard of in a while. The 8th graders mostly don't take regents is what I heard, but why??? They just move on? No tests? Or assessments? No one is even administrating them. No one cares enough to even request them. Not being able to have an available bus to pick up our child at least 6x's this year bringing them home past 5:30, when school is out at 2:20 is wild. When there is an issue or concern and brought directly to the principals attention and he either does NOT respond as their has been serious concerns about the violence and not feeling this is a safe place for our child. As an adult who went to this school personally as a child, this is heartbreaking. The standards have fallen. With being said with what we have experienced in the past 7 years at this school, my husband and I have decided to remove our son from Discovery Buffalo Public School #67. Kids deserve to go to school and learn and be protected!!! #67 needs to work on that. Respectfully, A parent who cares about the well-being of their child!
