Wilson Heights Park - July 2020, they didn't put the awning up this year probably because of the Pandemic & park closures

My friend, Dan L., was recently at Wilson Heights Park. He was getting some exercise around the…read moreneighbourhood and found a small yarmulke (kippah) on the ground. He decided to place it inside a little free library at this park. I loved how cute the little free library looked and I'm a fan of these libraries (one of my cool pastimes that I have picked up during this pandemic) that I decided to check it out last Sunday. I drove along Allen Road and it was easy exiting off the Wilson Heights ramp to get to this park. I parked on Dresden Road and walked over. This park is ideal to sit on one of the colourful Muskoka chairs and read a book. Alternatively, it's the perfect setting to eat lunch. It's surprisingly quiet and pleasant. The little free library is one of the better ones out there. You can look at all the books without opening the latched door. I had a duplicate cookbook that I wanted to add to this library. I placed it between the yarmulke that was still there and the Fifty Shades trilogy that was available. It felt weird and funny. There were a few people out and about. I took a bit of time to walk around the park. It's smack in the middle of a residential area. I'm glad that I dropped by as I was heading over to Vaughan from downtown Toronto. I look forward to coming back to check out the park again and see what books are available at the little free library. Perhaps I'll bring my lunch. (363)

Next 'best,' park within…read morewalking distance? the Faywood Public School school yard; there's a picnic bench & a cement basketball pad. It's quiet, but hardly green enough to do any good as a 'green space.'. What a shame this neighbourhood is park-wise.
