Decided to go to BWW today instead of cooking and even though they were SEVERELY short staffed, it was evident that the employees at this location were a great team! Wait times were a little long but absolutely worth it! Food was fresh and fantastic as it usually is. Mary, the manager on duty was kind and helping her staff wait tables, clear tables, answering the phone, all the things! I unfortunately didn't catch out waiters name but he was phenomenal as well. The bar tender helped with waiting tables as did the gentleman in the host position. Absolutely will be back!!! read more

I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with a buddy for unlimited wings, says they're open till 1 and it was around 11:30. We were 10 wings in and the guy said I forgot to tell you but our kitchen is closing I can bring the check. We had to pay the full $20 price for 10 wings as we watched the rest of the workers all eat wings together. We were not informed that the kitchen was closing and we would not have done the unlimited if we had knowledge of that. We went to the Ames Buffalo Wild Wings today after calling to make sure that we could watch the a Iowa State Women's basketball game ( also the Men's that was being played at the same time) We were very disappointed! And we weren't alone!! Apparently they only have Direct TV and therefore the men's game was preempted by a golf tournament and the women's not available. We were able to watch them on our phones because we were able to stream. The question is: how does a sports bar , especially in a university town, not have other means ( ie streaming) in order to watch the games. ( I checked with some other local sports bars and was told that they have satellite tv but also stream games.) That being said, our service ( by Josh) was beyond question . He was excellent. I was seated, and 20 minutes of waiting I had to get up and ask a server if I could place my order. I wonder how long I would have waited before someone came to my table if I didn't walk up to an employee and ask. So I placed my order (10 wings and a water) 20 minutes ago and the wings are still not here. I won't be back. I placed a call into the store just to check and see if they were still open. The hostess answered the phone, gave me her name - Ali, Allie, Aly - and I simply asked if they were still open. Menus change, times change; it was 45 min before close. I get it. Late and you want to go home. But when the person asks "just wanted to know if you were still open" and there was a pause and then a hang up. I call back, say "uh hi you just hung up on me" and the little princess goes "....pause....ok" and I said "Ok, you just hung up on me" and all she says is "ok." I laughed and then had to explain to her that menu prices, times and everything is changing so I just called to check. I know it's late but I don't appreciate getting hung up on." Hands down the worst Buffalo Wild Wings I have ever been to. I am 26 years young and have been going to bdubs weekly since I was 12 years old . I have travelled all over the country eating bdubs at various stops through 20 different states in the past 6 years. I recently moved to Fort Dodge and I have ordered here 2 times in the past month since moving from Illinois. Both times I have ordered pickup through the app and both times me order has been completely wrong. I ordered wings and fries and get a burger both times? The third time o order today and I check my bag at the checkout as the waiter gives me a disgusting look. And guess what??? Order was wrong again.. Also if your order says it's going to be ready at a certain time just show up an hour later and hopefully it'll be done by then for you!! And to make matters worse The rude lady proceeded to try to give me a $10 gift card when my order was $52 TOLD HER I'D rather have the food I ordered all out at the same time. i only gave them 2 stars because i am assuming their food & drinks were that of the lovable ankeny location. i wouldn't know though, so don't take my word...we weren't greeted. us & another couple stared at each other for a good 8 minutes before a server came by to inform us the dining room was closed. i checked this app before coming in to check availability & clicked the reserve button. it said there was available seating. we were told it if we could find a seat to do so - we couldn't so we were told to wait. no one will be moving anywhere as the entire bar is stacked full with people who have already been served & aren't going anywhere due to the game. frustrating but understandable during the game season - just should have the ability to open more seating for those willing.. the stars & reviews from years before are still accurate today. really disappointed. read more

we went to the Ames bdubs in a Saturday at 2:15pm they had some tables full nothing that I would consider busy. We were greeted and sat asap. we waited patiently for about 20 minutes then I found a waiter to ask if could be waited on. We waited another 10 minutes ( not sure why we didn't just leave) then we did get waited on FINALLY. the drinks were brought right away. But..... the food was a different story. Once we received our food it was cold. Asked for a the manager and explained our visit he didn't really seemed to concerned. We got free fries out of this awful visit. The first time I came here was about six years ago and I had a great experience. The food was amazing and the staff was super nice and prompt. Fast forward to three years ago, and they gave me food poisoning. I was meeting up with some friends at the bar and I asked the waitress if I could order some wings. She seemed a little disgusted and gave me a dirty look for a few seconds until finally saying "sure." It didn't take long for them to cook my wings and she kind of just dropped the bowl on the table and walked off, didn't say a WORD. Next thing I know it's 4AM and I am in the bathroom spewing my guts out. I called the Iowa food poisoning hotline. I'm not sure if anything came of it but I sure hope so. TL;DR - The order was messed up, the kitchen staff is seemingly terrible, and on top of being messed up, it was like eating crumbs. Man.. I hate to be that guy that only leaves a review when the place is bad, but man this experience was awful. As far as time, I wasn't paying attention. We showed up at around 22:15, they close at 01:00. We were greeted fine, sat equally as quickly, and waited a few minutes for our server. It's a slow day, so they closed one half the restaurant. They've got two servers and a bartender on, not sure what the kitchen situation is like. We ordered our food fairly quickly as well. One of us got a Burger and fries with a snack wing, the other a 20 piece boneless. For the boneless wing there was blue cheese and celery ordered. They forgot the celery and gave ranch instead. I should've gotten a picture of the sauced bread crumbs, but I wasn't initially going to complain. $22 for a 20 piece boneless that was very little chicken and very much breading. Needless to say, seeing as all the chicken is frozen and easy to sort through, I was impressed at how lazy and inconsiderate the kitchen staff is. As for the burger, it was just fine. Good flavor, well cooked, no problems there; the fries tasted like they had been left out for the last 20 minutes, but that happens. Mistakes are made in the food industry, and I'll be the first to admit I've made plenty. As far as the speed of our order, the party that came in after us got served all of their food before us... and got the same food as we did. When it comes down to the order being messed up, I'm not sure who to blame. It's a simple game of telephone from us, to the server, to the kitchen staff. Our server was just fine and I harbor no complaints towards them. They were plenty attentive and, though a little distracted, tried to stay on top of things as much as possible. If I could give this location zero stars it would be fitting. I ordered a classic chicken wrap with crispy chicken, ranch, and no tomatoes. This comes with a side as well. I was charged extra for a side and the worker rang up my order as a "crispy chicken wrap plus tomatoes and a small fry" It was repeated back to me as I had ordered it so I thought nothing of it. When I picked my order up to go I opened it when I got home. I have never had to go food as bad as this. The chicken amount in the wrap was not even equivalent to one single chicken strip and it had tomatoes on it. The sauce was blue cheese on it and I had ordered ranch. The chicken in the wrap and my french fries were freezing as well. Everything was wrong with it and it wasn't even enough food to fill a child. I have had the classic chicken wrap before and it was plenty of food when made correctly. Very disappointed and won't be giving my service to this location for awhile. read more

If you want somewhere to watch a game and drink, this is probably your place. If you are like me though, and you want to eat food while you watch a game, I would go elsewhere. My husband and I arrived, were seated, and brought our drink orders promptly. The problems began when the two tables who were seated after us (both also groups of 2) received their food before we did, even though our orders were all taken at about the same time. Our food was brought out immediately after the game ended. When it arrived, both our orders were room-temperature. When I went to dig in after our server was nowhere to be found, I realized we were never given any cutlery or even a napkin. My husband was able to flag down our server to get us forks, but after dropping them off and quickly moving on, we were left without any ketchup to eat our room-temperature fries with. All considered, I ate cold food which came immediately after the game finished (coincidence, I'm sure) and had to wait even longer to eat it until I could find someone to give me a fork. Staff working..mostly students are terrible & have no service skills at all---we get it, you don't care about your job--you are a student & this is short term! As we sat in the parking lot I called to check on the order status---the rude girl working (Maya)---looked for the order & told us it has not even been started yet!!!! Remember it's already been about 52 minutes since we placed the order & were told an hour total? This was absolutely ridiculous & it took about another 30 minutes to finish! If I could give zero stars I would. I have been coming to this location for about six years and never had an issue. I worked in food service so I never get upset with staff because you never actually know what's actually going on. But, unfortunately what happened yesterday is something I can't let go. I ordered a to go order of 20 boneless wings and 10 traditional wings and cheese curds. I waited an additional 20 minutes for my order; not the issue. When I got home to eat, I opened up the cheese curd box, and there is 9 curds. I was thinking for paying $8 I would get more curds for the dollar. Then, my significant other opened up one of his traditional wing boxes and when I tell you, it was entirely covered in feathers. They were everywhere. It astounds me that no one noticed, or maybe no one cared. If it helps make you care, he is a recovering stem cell transplant, so this could have possible made him sick. They've got 20 crappy beers listed in the menu, 20 more crappy beers listed on the drink guide, and they always have to go check what good beers they have. Later the manager stopped by our table to see how everything was, and we talked with him about our concerns, and he actually listened to us. He explained that the beer selection was a corporate decision, but also said there was no reason that each table couldn't have an accurate and current beer list. I've came here multiple times, and received shitty service. They hand the food out one by one, and get food out to people after you quick and easy. The servers are very rude, and have no compassion for their business nor job. The food was cold when coming out, which makes no sense, due to having to wait 25 extra minutes after my significant other received their meal. Ordered boneless wings, 2 different flavors with ranch and fries. I received one flavor, no fries, 2 ranches with one having burnt residue in it. Charged me for my fries, as well as 2 extra drinks? Poor ass service, poor ass food. Will not be coming here again. I recommend wing stop if you want good service, short wait, and games on the tv. Fuck this place. Dirty table, after employee wiping it down (still crumbs and a package of wipes?) servers not paying attention. 0 stars if I could.
