Very unpleasant customer service experience today. I am 67, broke my leg last year and have trouble standing for long periods. I entered the restaurant behind a man and woman and stood in the waiting area. There were 2 people at the bar and one guy sitting at a table but no hostess, waitress or bartender to be seen. After about 5 minutes, I called out "Hello, is anybody there?" Eventually, the waitress appeared and asked the woman in front of me if we were together. The woman said no, that she was there with her son and then, in a very loud, nasty voice, "I wouldn't have screamed at you like she did", looking at me. The waitress turned her back on me and took the woman to her table without greeting me or acknowledging my presence. Not enjoying the vibe, I left. Get it together people. read more

Went here with family for lunch a couple of days ago. Wonderful food! Philly burger was very good. I had the chicken quesadillas. Had big chunks of chicken in them. The Buffalo pork tenderloin was done right just the right amount of spice. The Buffalo chicken tacos were the best we ever had. The food was served hot and fresh. Mike is a fantastic waiter. Big restaurant, I like the sports decor. We will be back and bring some friends also. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Nice ambience. Service was slow my first time just for a burger and fries. On Monday lunch dine in I ordered a medium well ground chuck cheeseburger and received it well done with warm fries. On Wednesday's lunch I ordered bigass tenderloin and onion rings thru a regular customer and coworker whom picked up and they were hot and fresh. Wednesday dinner I ordered a Cesar salad and received old lettuce mixed in with so called fresh lettuce. I called the restaurant to report this issue. This is unacceptable and is the reason businesses lose customers. Lettuce is the cheapest thing you could lose a customer over. I'm so disgusted with the pride people have in preparing and serving orders to customers risking salmonella poisoning. Since 1 out of 3 meals was fine I won't be so low as to give you 1 star. Restructure, retrain and you may see your customer base and ratings grow. read more

Just got in from Utah, brought an elderly friend of mine to see his hometown after 30+years. Stopped here for the tenderloin. The sandwich was huge and tasty. The fries were amazing! Their homemade ranch was yummy. Michael was our server. He did an amazing job, the food came out really fast, and was reasonably priced. Ambiance was cool vibe. Great experience. Not bad atmosphere, and service was good. It was not award winning prime rib. We travel and eat all over country. It was good but nothing to drive back for. Side salad with Prime Rib was nothing but lettuce and a tomato wedge. No cheese no croutons. Nothing. I had the wings. Not cooked all the way but close enough to eat. The place was nice. The Philly was good but it was bland. It needed seasoning. It looked incredible but just missed. The French fries were awesome and their ranch dressing.... Maybe the best I've ever had! My experience would've been a little better had there not been flies constantly trying to land on my food. My waitress was very nice, but I only saw her a couple of times. She was very busy but I still expected a bit better service. My wife and I moved here recently and I've eaten there 3 times. It is the best restaurant in Fort Madison, but being from Texas makes you a hard person to please when it comes to food, because we have good food in Texas. The Nashville Hot wings are the best wings I've ever had, but that's where the exceptional ends here. When I ordered steak, it was still juicy and cooked well to medium well, but the flavor is barely above average. The side salad wasn't even cold. Sorry, but salads are only good if they are "fresh out of the fridge" cold. The portions are actually surprisingly big, so no complaint there. Just wish the flavor was worth the price you pay. For $30, that steak better top anything Texas has to offer, and what I had does not. I'll keep coming back every once in a while for those wings though read more

I was here in June, for the first time after learning about the food from a friend. I read through some other reviews on Yelp - and was instantly hooked! I was the only person in the restaurant when I walked in, as they had just opened at 11. I started with an order of their cheese balls, yum! The wings were large, juicy and had an amazing flavor! The French fries were so crispy and delicious. I believe my total was around $20ish, and it was well worth every penny. When in the area, I will gladly stop back in and eat! Being an Illinois resident, I'm pretty glad to see a location in Monmouth, which is closer to me. read more

It is a special so it only comes with fries and a side salad with the special....and I understand that but I was NOT ALLOWED to order steam broccoli.????? Huh??? It was my 1st time going and there not like any other restaurant. If you hungry you better be ready for a giant meal my favorite was the chicken with a salad they gave me 3 huge pieces of chicken and a salad enough to feed 3 people. I've seen the moth clucker, horseshoe tenderloins, and there order of BBQ chicken wings. Awe it was so good and the service was Awesome? Everyone listened to what you wanted to have and they made sure before you left that you were satisfied with everything. If I had the funds heck yeah I would go again!! LOVE this place. Before 61, we used to come to this location when it was Bennigans, then Chandlers. 61 BLOWS those places away. We love coming here whenever we're in town. Love their Tenderloin Sandwich!! It's huge! I never leave here hungry. Seating is never a problem when we have come here. Very welcoming staff. I like the fact they carry more than just pedestrian beers one might expect at a grill/bar especially in Iowa. This place is legit. The vibe is cool too. No screaming brats climbing the walls. Good sandwiches and wings, but their salads need to be resuscitated. I appreciate a good salad and am willing to pay for a fresh, quality salad. I wish the owner would go to The Hawkeye in Keokuk and order an entree salad, to see the enormous difference. I'll still go to Buffalo61 for a tenderloin, but not much else. read more

We were truly excited to see this extension of The Buffalo in Burlington open in Ft Madison, but, as we've seen over the years, they can be hit or miss unfortunately. The staff is professional and courteous and the tenderloin is tasteful and enormous! We have had some negative experiences as well, as simple as overcooked prime rib, cold side dishes and poor timing with appetizers and entrees. Maybe we're just picky. The manager has made our tab right when the faults are obvious, and we will give them more opportunities to hone their hospitality skills. read more

The context is that this is not a dive bar & grill and yet not trying to be casual fine dine dining. The kids loved the menu selection and the portions were huge. The prices are cheap for what one gets. The wings are very big and the buffalo tenderloin was a giant. The prime rib was great and appeared to be a lot larger than 12 ounces. Not as good as the orgional Burlington location: Went there 4/7/2018 our waitress was Kelsey. Brought my husbands beer forgot my water. Got my water a bit later. No plates or silverware brought with our appetizer. No napkins brought either. I got up and got some from the bar. Burgers/tenderloin brought. Again still no silverware. Asked a different waitress because ours was no where to be seen. Other waitress got us silverware. Had to ask a different waitress to refill my water. Our waitress never did. Our waitress never offered refills or a second beer for husband either. Yet again had to ask ANOTHER different waitress to get us our check. Food was okay. Service was terrible. Not friendly not attentive AT ALL. I'll forgive a waitress on a busy night for not being super attentive. But even if we weren't offered refills silver ware + napkins are a MUST when you are served food. Checking on us would have been nice. Customers shouldn't have to get napkins themselves, flag other wait staff down to get a knife to spread the container of mayo you were brought for your sandwhich or wait a long time sans drinks to finally get fed up enough to ask someone else for the check. Probably won't go back to this location, it's a shame because the Burlington location while not as nice interior design wise had better service and our food was served at a hot temperature vs Ft. Madison's room temperature fries. I had higher hopes for this place. read more

It took awhile to get seated and to get someone to wait on us but once we got our table and a wAitress, the meal was good. I got the tenderloin sandwich as recommended by my dining companion and it was good. The fried pork tenderloin was hanging off the bun and was so big I had to eat it with a fork and knife. The appetizers were ok enough. I had a fairly larger group at the bar, we took up half of it. The bartender service was horrible. There may have been 2 other people at the bar when we showed up but it still took 20 minutes to be asked what we would like. Each round we had to wait quite a while to get severed the bartender just disappears. They had a special of buy 1 get 1 free but evidently that only counts if your bartender remembers. We were shorted a few drinks as the bartender said we didn't have any coming. My recommendation is to not go to Buffalo 61, head some where with better service but if you do find yourself there get a table vs sit at the bar. I think the service would be better. Always get the free drink with the one you purchase as the bartender is just challenging overall, maybe its there strategy to sell you one and then say you dont get a second. Decent enough food but there menu is comprised of almost exclusively fried food. The breading they use is way to thick and usually way to overdone. There steaks are alright but not the best in town. The quality definitely does not match the price. They have potential but they need to step there game up. I am open to going back but my expectations are low. read more

Got an order to go a couple weeks ago. It was terrible. Used to love going here before covid. Our cheeseballs were burnt, onion rings were soggy, fries were cold. The tenderloins were very salty, tasted like Lawry's seasoning salt. The breading completely fell off one of them. And they forgot an entire entree. Really too bad....used to be good! read more

For an appetizer we had a half order of beef nachos and they were amazing. She had the buffalo chicken wrap and I had the tenderloin sandwich. Both were good however I'm giving it 3 stars because I really can't stand a restaurant that already charges higher than average for a meal then turns around and wants 50 cents for a little cup of bleu cheese and a 1.29 for ONE extra bun for the tenderloin . I don't like feeling like I'm getting nickel and dimed at a place. Also their kids meals were alittle on the high side at 5.99 for each kids meal, and they were out of milk. Love this place! The waitresses are always friendly the manager/owner when around comes by and checks on every table. The food is phenomenal in my opinion and is always prepared to my liking. They do whatever is necessary to please theirs guests every time we have come in. read more
