Went in to have punctured tire repaired. Sat in the waiting room and after a while tech came out…read moreand tried to upsell me a brake flush. I did not ask for any diagnostic work to be done and he didn't even mention the tire, which was the reason for the visit. I left with the tire repaired but not much trust in such a blatant attempted upsell. Family member recently make appt. online for 2 new tires and state inspection. Appt. confirmed by phone 1 hr. ahead. They arrived to be told that no inspector was available so no state inspection. Upsold them an alignment (which had been done at dealer 2 mos. prior), and once again tried to upsell the brake flush. Do not trust these folks. If you go, be very clear as to your needs and be sure you to tell them to not do any diagnostics not directly related to your purpose.

Had brake inspection. Mechanic was super nice and said only rear brake shoes needed. Front desk guy…read moretalked to me like I was an idiot and tried to scare me into spending over $1500. They already over charged for the brake shoes so there's no way I was going to let him railroad me into things I didn't need. They did find a crack in one of the axle boots and front desk guy said that there was no way my car would pass the state inspection with it like that. I've never heard of any NC inspection station looking at the cv boots/axles when completing a required annual state inspection. When I got the cv axle replaced by my local mechanic, it was less than half of what they wanted to charge. That so called "free" brake system inspection isn't actually free folks! You're paying for it many times over with what they try to strong arm you into doing. And if you're a woman...you will be treated like you are a clueless moron. I may not be a man but I've done about 90% of my own vehicle repairs, by myself for 35 years. Hope you find this helpful when making the decision as to where to take your vehicle. God bless.

They told me I still had about 1/3 of the pad left, and they would tell their friends or family to just keep on riding on them and they have plenty of life left. Basically, they could have easily charged me for something I didn't need and I would have had no complaints, but instead they sought my best interest. That's hard to find in our day. They put one on and only a couple hours later the tire blew( more like crumbled ) because it was dry rotted, while he was driving it. Luckily nobody was hurt , but check the comments for the picture, this could have went really really bad on the highway and with an inexperienced child driver. We called and they said they would absolutely not refund us or even give us half back but if they had the right size tire in stock they would give us a replacement but of course turned around and said they don't have that size tire. So basically we are out of luck.

I wanted to go to Firestone because I knew they would be open on Sunday so I called AAA and had my car towed to this location. When I arrived the man at the counter was super nice, he had my car assessed right away, and informed me they would have my car ready that same day. Absolutely amazing! I was only planning to be in Hickory overnight so I opted to leave my car overnight for pickup Sunday morning. They called me Saturday evening to let me know all was good and my car was ready. I picked my car up Sunday morning and there was a different guy at the counter. He was super nice and even showed me the bent pulley that caused my serpentine belt to remove itself. Nobody wants their car to break down, but thanks to this Firestone it was actually a great experience. I highly recommend this shop!

When time came to pay, the disingenuous sales associate Jimmy insisted the rotation happened, which it did not. I was charged $275 (which included a 15% discount for using my Firestone card) for the oil change, and new filters, plus a tire rotation (which never happened) ?...They must be crazy!I was standing at the observation window during the service, precisely because I wanted to make sure my request was executed. Long story short, I believe Firestone is more concerned with servicing fleet vehicle it has contracts with, then servicing the local community. I will not ever go there again, and will discourage anyone I speak with about my experience, and to go elsewhere...Took my Lexus 470, which has similar oil capacity to Strickland brothers and was charged $90 (with a coupon)! that makes way more sense.
