Had brake inspection. Mechanic was super nice and said only rear brake shoes needed. Front desk guy talked to me like I was an idiot and tried to scare me into spending over $1500. They already over charged for the brake shoes so there's no way I was going to let him railroad me into things I didn't need. They did find a crack in one of the axle boots and front desk guy said that there was no way my car would pass the state inspection with it like that. I've never heard of any NC inspection station looking at the cv boots/axles when completing a required annual state inspection. When I got the cv axle replaced by my local mechanic, it was less than half of what they wanted to charge. That so called "free" brake system inspection isn't actually free folks! You're paying for it many times over with what they try to strong arm you into doing. And if you're a woman...you will be treated like you are a clueless moron. I may not be a man but I've done about 90% of my own vehicle repairs, by myself for 35 years. Hope you find this helpful when making the decision as to where to take your vehicle. I absolutely love these guys. I still have free services under my warranty at the dealership, and I choose to pay the guys at Mr. Tire instead of getting the services for free. Theyre personable, friendly, honest, they know me by name, and their techs/mechanics stop to talk to me before servicing my vehicle to find out what I'm experiencing first hand. Then they stop me after working on my car to update me personally. So we're in constant communication. They're respectful and helpful. As a woman, especially, I'm accustomed to shops trying to take advantage of the fact that I may have limited knowledge; but I've not experienced that here. I have several mechanics in my life that I consistently run the information by, and whom agree with the diagnosis that's provided and the suggested/performed work. Bottom line: I trust them. This place broke my ignition switch key. When I asked them about it they told me it is a normal thing that happens and there was nothing else they could do about it. I contacted their work great and she told me to make sure I speak this to everyone they offered to pay for my replacement but I had to pay for it upfront and then prove to them that I paid for it then they would reimburse it supposedly.After spending almost $700 on a set of tires you would think they would treat customers a little bit more respect in this not recommend it for anyone read more

I had a tire blow out on the interstate. So I changed to the donut tire and limped it to Mr. Tire in Morganton. I got there and since they were closing in 20 minutes, I called to see if there was anyway they could sell me a tire, but was told no because they were closing directly. I know this might seem like a trivial complaint, but my family and I have bought tires here for years. Never, ever again. read more

Had an 8 am appointment for diagnostic and warranty work (at the Morganton, NC store) to be done (warranty company is Silver rock). after 9 am and still not having my car looked at I was told supposedly they were waiting on authorization from warranty co. that was a flat outright lie. I called the warranty co, and no one had even called them, and they have to do the diagnostic before they call them and the staff knows that. by 11 am they still had not looked at my car and again lied blaming the warranty co, they still had not called and then talked down to us like we were to stupid to know how a tire/repair garage is supposed to work. Ron was the employee and his card says he is the asst. mngr. Not a place to do business especially if your a female. When I asked for the keys back and told him I was leaving he cam back and had damage/broke my key fob by jerking off the tag from the corner of it. read more

Since Greg left this location has gone downhill drastically. It is obvious that for continued business this company relies on coupons and not good service. I visited them for low cost brake quote and found they offer a lifetime warranty on the brake pads BUT NO WARRANTY ON THE ROTORS OR CALIPER OR BEARINGS that inferior brake pads will destroy. This is a classic scam. First brake job is cheap but when you bring the car back for the lifetime brake pad warranty you will pay thousands of dollars to repair rotors, calipers, and bearings.
