The teachers dedicate their time to each child and the best thing about it is that it is more of a one on one teaching system, each child participates and learns while having fun. A daycare shouldn't be a place where a child just sits there and doesn't learn anything, when they are that little is when their brains absorb more information and thus each parent should take advantage and see what your child is capable of, you will be surprised, I know I am and its the best investment you can do for your child's future. All the staff members are so accommodating and keep me updated during the day so it feels like I'm not missing out on a thing! (Extra bonus points for tolerating a very hands on first time momma!!! The first few weeks were hard (mostly for me), but the teachers and staff at Shalom made the transition process seamless. After 10 months at Shalom, I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. The safety precautions they have in place ease my mind each day when I drop Jack off; and the joyful squeal of "school" or "April" (his teacher's name) as we pull up in front of the building lets me know how much Jack enjoys his days there. His teachers have taught him to say "more" in sign language, to draw and paint, to sing and dance to a variety of kids songs, and to play nicely with his friends. Shalom is a warm and caring environment - from the top down. The Directors, Michele and Providence, are warm and welcoming and clearly care about all of the Shalom families. Miss Yvonne and Mr Howie have a safe, fun, clean and extremely nurturing day care center! Learn and Play Levittown was also awarded Best Dar Care on Long Island beating off big corporate day cares with deep packets and a HUGE franchise behind them so that alone is a true testament to the great job they are doing! Organic food served daily. Extremely flexible and the cost is phenomenal! I would have more kids just to be able to send them to Learn and Play Levittown.
