She was required to wear a helmet at school and was in physical therapy prior to starting Honey Bear. After much collaboration with her physical therapist and teaching staff, Infant and Toddler teachers adapted to her needs and helped her graduate from the helmet and physical therapy. As a staff member who works at Honey Bear, I have not only seen my child grow, but I have seen many other children grow through the love and compassion of qualified teachers and staff, who make us feel like a family.

I then reach out via email and hear nothing for a few more weeks. After three weeks, I finally receive a call from Cindy informing me the spot had been filled as she was waiting to hear from my wife and I regarding the enrollment. Are you kidding? If that were that case, then why not reach out to us before filling a spot? Why not provide a simple call or email or anything? She says it was our fault for telling her we needed to think about it during the tour as this was on her notes. I can assure you she took no notes during our visit nor did she even remember my child's name when she called. As you tour the facility and speak to Cindy just ask yourself is this person organized? Is the place well run? Again, I can't speak to the care of the children here, but, after this experience I will be sure to keep away. I don't trust a disorganized person to manage the care of my child, the most precious thing in my life. I'll search elsewhere. You might want to as well.

As a first time mom, I was hesitant to start going back to work and to have her start going to daycare. Mrs. Luni and her wonderful staff set me at ease when I would leave her and I knew my daughter was not only in great hands but also learning and making new friends. I have watched my daughter transition into each classroom as she got older and adjust to her new teachers. Each staff member has always been attentive and have gone above and beyond to let me know how my little girl is doing while I'm at work. I remember for my daughter's second birthday, Melissa, the assistant director, let my daughters father and I use their break room during my daughter's naptime to start wrapping her gifts and preparing for her birthday party at the school. They even offered to help us and took pictures of the party for us. I have very few regrets in life and one of them was taking my daughter out of the school for a short period of time. When I moved to Westport I had taken my daughter out and placed her in Pumpkin Preschool of Westport. After three months, we came right back to Creative Minds because of how unhappy my daughter was in that horrible school. ( Please do not send your kids to the Pumpkin Preschool of Westport!! they care more about their money than they do about your child's well-being and care). I know better now than to ever make this mistake again. As soon as my daughter started going back to Creative Minds, it was as if she never left. She was smiling again, she remembered the friends she started with in the infant classroom, and we got to work with Luni and her wonderful staff again! They belittle, mishandle and sometimes ignore the children. I saw on live video, One of the teachers blocked her face with her hand, while a child was crying in front of her. I understand challenging behaviors can be frustrating but it's never your job to apply force to anyone's kid. If your goal isn't to make a difference in the early stages of development, then this is not the place for you and you should not be working with kids of any age group. There are teachers who witness this treatment and do not speak up. The twos classroom consists of Andreana Stevenson, Angelique Clark and Jasmin Cardona. Sometimes Chantal is in these classrooms and she also should not be around children, she has fallen asleep while on the clock. The cameras aren't monitored enough by management, they do not pop into classes enough.

Good evening, I am writing as a deeply angry and disgusted…read moreparent. Today, when I picked up my son Leonardo, I was informed he had SLEPT ON THE COLD TILE FLOOR because he was "hot." That explanation alone is UNACCEPTABLE, but it gets worse. He was WET when I picked him up this afternoon--his hair, his pants, his coat--completely soaked. And when I asked why, not a single staff member could give me an answer. "I don't know" is NOT an acceptable response when a child is returned to their parent in that condition. The lack of accountability, the carelessness, and the indifference are beyond disappointing--they are DISGUSTING. As someone with experience working in multiple daycares and schools, I know that if a 3-year-old refuses to sleep on a cot, you don't allow them to lay on a cold, dirty floor like an animal. You comfort them, you redirect them, and you provide care. The fact that this didn't happen is a complete failure on your part. Even a dog gets a bed. My son deserved far better than this. And yes, I will say it--had Leonardo not been a young Black boy, I believe this situation may have been handled with more compassion and urgency. He was neglected. There's no other word for it. Let me ask you this: How would you feel if you found out your child took a nap on the cold floor? Or picking him up wet and not exactly given an actual clear explanation ? If he was uncomfortable, if he was upset, if something happened--WHY wasn't I called? As his mother, I should have been informed immediately. Instead, he was left in that condition, and no one took responsibility. This is not just poor care. This is unacceptable. This is disgusting. This is neglect. His teachers have been phenomenal and so patient with him. Special thanks to Mariah and Diamond who had him in toddlers, Amy in Twos and Alyssa and Rachel in EP. Our son needed Birth to 3 services and all of the teachers adopted the strategies needed to help our son grow and thrive. They were even flexible with us about our continued enrollment after summer 2023 which gave us options as we planned for our son's transition to Pre-k and allowed us to breath a little. I don't understand how this place is so highly rated, and cost such a high amount for the amount of compaints I received from my wife when picking up the kids and from my 3 year old herself. Ranging from my daughter crying to me about "writing the WRONG way" because she is left handed and being forced to use her right hand, to the teacher (Ms.Nicole specifically) not allowing her to use her blanket during nap time because she didn't want to sleep and was cold. This place is not nearly worth the amount of money it cost. Not to mention just the bad business aspect of it as well. I took a week long vacation, informed them I was going to be gone for the full week and my kids would not be attending that week and was still charged for the full-time service charge. I can understand charging me part-time for the week because I was still taking a roster slot, but not the full time charge, that's just bad business in my opinion trying to squeeze every dime out of their customers. On the note of charging your customers for every dime possible, during the one on one visit where they go over every aspect of the school they inform you of all the during school activities they do. Ranging from soccer, sports, dance classes, cooking classes and tons of great sounding things to get your children's creativity flowing. What they don't inform you of is they charge you for these classes extra, and pump it into your kids so they come home begging to do these classes. They also have a no discipline rule and rarely inform you when something goes wrong. My daughter was smacked in the face with a toy and came home with a large black eye and I was not given an "accident report" until I exclaimed my concern her eye upon picking her up. My children were only in their care for roughly 6 months and it was a terrible experience. If not for my promotion at work and allowing my wife to become a stay at home Mom I would not have kept my kids there and would of returned to a smaller situation that is more hands on like a home daycare. I can not stress enough how much parents should avoid this place! I've never put a review on Yelp.com before and made an account just to warn parents of this place because they should be aware of it. It's not a good place to put your kids. If even ONE customer decides not to participate in Kindercare because of this review then my 15 minutes writing this was not wasted.
