Do not hire Chris. He promised us a new porch (3-season room) in 6-8 weeks. 6 MONTHS later the project is still not complete. 6 months of nonstop delays, excuses, and broken promises. At some point during the project we found out that he still hadn't ordered the Eze-breeze windows even though he took our money for them 2 months earlier (specifically called out in the contract)... Absolutely ridiculous. We've later heard from multiple neighbors about similar issues and delays. Seems to be a common issue with him. read more

Chris Hand is an honest, trustworthy, reliable contractor. I discovered him in a desperate time of need when another contractor had pulled out of my already planned deck project. Chris agreed to complete the project even thought my timeline was tight. He suggested materials that were better and more quality options then I had originally planned. I was using composite decking with an aluminum railing. He coordinated all inspections and took care of all the little details. Great results, certainly worth the money. Above all, Chris and his crew do beautiful work. We talked to a lot of contractors about building a 3 season room and a deck to replace our existing deck. Chris was not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive either. But he was very thoughtful, making sure we truly got what was best for our home. While he is the owner, at heart, you can tell he is a craftsman. He did not simply make a deal and then left the work to his crew. He was here. He and his crew made a real effort to minimize disruptions and were very nice to my wife and kids. We are thrilled with the results. Now is Chris a great communicator? This is the only area for improvement. Chris is great in person, but there were some communication breakdowns. We did expect them to be working at times, where we found out they were waiting on materials. But Chris took full accountability, he doesn't make excuses....and who do you want building an addition for you, an orator or a craftsman.
