I hired Greg to renovate a half bath that had a toilet that leaked, damaging the sub floor and…read morehardwoods in the hall. The first red flag was Greg's cartoonish quote for work. Greg is a smooth talker and made it seem like it would all be good. He said payment would be due upon completion although there was no mention of this in the "contract." Turns out "Remove vanity and install custom vanity" means ripping out the large existing vanity, sink, and huge mirror and then popping down the pedestal sink THAT I BOUGHT. Period. Red flag #2: When I asked Greg about the massive drywall damage, he said "Is it in the contract?" The agreement does say he does not cover drywall repair, but this was literally left in a demo state. On Day 2, while the entire floor was ripped up with the crawlspace exposed, Greg asked me for a check. I said I planned to pay him with a credit card and it would take me a few days to move money around to give him the equivalent of cash. Day 3 he walked off the job claiming non-payment. After I calmly explained that I could not be in non-payment because no payment was due, Greg came back the next day like nothing happened... All of the insulations under the half bath was wet so it had to go. Greg did not want anything to do with replacing it. I went out and bought insulation and installed it myself. Either Greg or his plumber, Drew, cracked the first sink basin during install. Luckily Home Depot replaced it with no questions and Drew came back and installed the new one. Drew was actually great. I did all of the leg work for the return, so don't expect Greg to actually stand by his work or take responsibility for mistakes. Greg made it clear he does not do hardwood floor repair and I was fine with that. Turns out, my hardwood flooring guy discovered that there was a strange strip of plywood sub floor installed to fill a gap that was not actually supported. We found out why when he pulled it up. See photos. Don't expect structural repairs to actually connect to other structural members. Don't expect your tile OR subfloor to be level or flat. Don't expect a professional job.

I contacted NHRC and Greg came out the next day for a consultation. He quoted me a price that I thought was very good for the entire bathroom remodel. Greg and his other worker were very efficient and even though we ran into a few issues (old plumbing and uneven walls), Greg was able to troubleshoot the issues and did a fantastic job with this renovation. We are very happy with the tile installation by S-Tile in our two-bathroom remodel project. When we…read moredecided on the tile we wanted, the big box store sent out their measurement person who had never installed floor tile in his life. I had questions about where cut the 4" waste pipe so that it laid flush on the floor and how to trim around the tub and vanity. He simply told me, "Not my job". After two measurements, and numerous calls to the company, we decided to find another installation company. That's when we found S-Tile on Yelp. Nimsy was very professional and knowledgeable with the installation process. She offered to send an installer out to measure the next day. They sent not just an installer to measure; they sent the person who would do the installation. Alex was great. Not only did he answer all my questions but also told me he would help to ensure the waste pipe was cut to the correct height. He made the measurements on a Thursday, and I got the quote that day. And S-Tile's quote was half of the big box installation. Alex started installing the tile on the following Monday and completed it on Wednesday. The toilet flange sat flush to the floor with Alex's help determining where it needed to be cut. The finish around the tub and vanity are exactly as I asked that it be left for my trim work. We could not be happier with our new tile installation as performed by S-Tile. I would recommend them to anyone wanting an easy process and professional installation.
