For Bar Faire, this place is legit. I always get the Paisanos (homemade chicken tenders) and the onion soup makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The staff are very friendly and the regulars clearly love them caskets always busy. Even though I'm not a sports guy, the soccer aesthetic is really cute. This was the luck of Yelp.. we found this place on the way back to my family's home. It's a nondescript type of place. It's got outdoor seating and awning and they have a clear garage like door they open up. When we went we could smell the sweet scent of bbq! This place makes its own foods.. what was on special was meatloaf with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. What bar do you know that makes that? I don't know any. They make their own sauce, they smoke there own stuff. This is a place you can bring your kids, friends and hang out. You can sit at the bar and if you need to charge up your phone they got you covered. They have beers on tap and in bottles and cans and you can buy them to go. They have a good menu and the wings are very tasty. We got a few different sauces we got garlic parm, fire (it's more savory than hot) and a Carolina type of sauce. You can get either ranch or blue cheese for dipping These are all worth getting and we also got mozzarella sticks. They were very tasty too. They have tv's you can just sit around and relax. Ordered a couple pints of Guinness for myself and my friend that was with me. Bartender poured and gave them to us. I noticed they had nitro cans of Boddington's in the fridge and ordered that next. I was just given the opened can to drink from, no clean glass to pour it into. The bartender walked away and went back to his conversation with people at the other end of the bar. I cam here with the other graduating seniors on the soccer team and the coaching staff for one last meal together and a beer while taking in the Champions League semifinals game! Really, really liked Bulldog Pub. One of my resolutions was to stop going to the same part of town for food! Mission accomplished. As soon as we parked outside of BP (street parking) I immediately thought this place looked like a good time! The booths are old school, and the decor is really neat because it's a bunch of old local football pictures. Nothing fancy here! Also, the bathroom was a tiny little room, with one toilet. Again, nothing fancy! Our server was awesome, very attentive - always made sure we had drinks. He also hooked us up on the food and drinks. My new life consists of not only being a picky eater myself, but having two pre-teens to worry about as well. We all loved it! We had a little bit of everything. I had the salmon burger, which was quite good. The boys had some penne with butter (it's the simple things) which they loved - oh and some chicken wings, which were a hit. My boyfriend had a burger, and said it was good as well! The prices were average. And the food was "not just bar food" which is great. My husband and I were hungry following a day-trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo and wanted to find a restaurant close by. A quick google search brought up the Bulldog Pub with great reviews. A short 0.3 mile drive from the zoo and we found ourselves at the doorstep to a hidden pub in a quiet neighborhood. The Bulldog Pub is a hidden gem! There's an outdoor space that's fenced in with soft lighting. The restaurant was catering a graduation party outside at the time we visited. They have a large variety of craft beer and wine to choose from. When we arrived there was a mixture of clientele. A family of 3 including a toddler was sitting in the booth behind us, four millennials were at the bar, a group of senior citizens walked in, and my husband and I occupied another booth. The inside of the Pub is a tight space, so I wouldn't recommend visiting with a large group unless you were seated outside. The overall ambiance of the place is truly a Pub atmosphere with TVs playing sports and a large bar. The food was delicious! We ordered wings and a pizza to share. They had an average list of wing sauces to choose from. Everything arrived at our table piping hot and fresh. They offer unique appetizers that you wouldn't find in most chain restaurants, and you can tell that they put some thought and creativity into their menu. We were interested in a house in the area, and thought we would get some feedback on the neighborhood. The house didn't work out, but the Bulldog Pub did. The bartender was extremely helpful and friendly, and one of the owners was sitting at the bar. They had friendly advice on the neighborhood, along with beers and food on the menu. We spent a couple fun hours there talking to locals, drinking the great craft beer, and a sausage sandwich that was extremely tasty. We got the spiciest they had an imo not very spicy at all. But for me, crispiness and quality meat is much more important, and they nailed it in that dept. Needed more sauce. But to top it all off, we got these and ERMERGEHD. I think this is one of those menu items that I now can't NOT order.
