My Opossum. Just an awkward, clumsy weird little guy who tries. Just like me. :)

This was my first tattoo, and I was very very nervous. Not only was this a new experience that I had no real bearing for, but even in other settings, I'm not the best communicator. I do my best, but it's always been difficult. I had a nice idea of what I wanted, but I wasn't sure on the style. How real should it look? What about posing? I ended up getting a quick consult with Tory, and had an appointment set up for when i happened to be taking some time off from work. I did altogether WAY too much research to prepare, and I walked in super nervous. Honestly, I don't even remember what I talked about. I just. Talked. Tory was super patient with me and she put me at ease almost immediately. I could tell she knew her stuff and that she would take care of me. Service and communication at this establishment is TOP notch. I'm a weird guy. But i TRY. That was actually what my tattoo was all about! Everyone there was very friendly and they were open to sharing about their craft, and I was just very comfortable. The art was amazing. I LOVE my piece. I let her have a lot of control over what the tattoo ultimately ended up becoming, and I'm so happy I did. Her sketch itself was amazing, but to see it on my body? I'm not sure I showed it, but it meant a lot to me. This is art that I'd be proud to show everyone and anyone. And finally, the cost. It was incredibly manageable. Infact, I feel like my tattoo is worth more than I paid. I debated coming back and offering more, but felt that it would be an odd thing to do. So instead, I decided to recommend the artist AND the shop to my family and friends, and I myself plan on coming back to have work done by Tory AND the folks at Bulldog again as many times as they will have me. Thank you all for bringing me into the tattoo world. Thank you for being patient with me, and thank you for the AWESOME work. There are lots of options in the Olympia area. I know this from my own research, but let me tell you. I REALLY hope you give Bulldog a try. Thanks.

These guys are awesome. Steven did a fabulous job and all of the artists are professional. If you're worried about COVID, don't be as these guys take all of the appropriate precautions. If you live in the South Sound and want a tattoo, go here!

Had an appointment with Zach and I absolutely love my tattoo! Clean environment, good music, hoping to come back to get something else done :)

Robin is a great color tattoo artist and also considerate and professional. He took my pinterest pictures and created this lovely design, after redoing it to include the maple leaves I wanted instead of the waves. This added an extra 30 min onto his working time, which he didn't charge me extra for. This beautiful color piece was $300, plus the tip I added. He also did a Phoenix for me on Monday (tiger on Friday), which is healing well. Love his work and recommend him. Would come back in the future for shoulder blade tattoos from him.

When I first came in, asking if it could be covered

I walked in during business hours to see about covering up a small part of an old tattoo (ex's name). Kasper comes over and whips out his markers and came up with something within minutes! Even got an appointment within two days to do the actual work! Kasper is a genius and the new cover up exceeded my expectations!!! Super love my new tat. I want more tattoos from him now. He's totally awesome to talk with the whole time too. Recommend this place 100%.

I like this shop. Walk in's all day and the guys seem like a good group of people. Front desk was awesome and had pretty stellar customer service while waiting. Downside with the walk in is that I had to wait upwards of 3 hours before I was actually seated in the chair (which could be my fault too for coming in on a weekend). Which is fine, but I prefer having the option of getting an appointment instead. I would also like being able to talk to the artist regarding the sketch/idea, instead of having to go through only the receptionist and getting things relayed to the artist. This might be because they were busy and that they are a "mainly" walk in shop. Therefore the idea of communicating with an artist beforehand might be something close to impossible, as you don't know exactly who will be doing your tattoos. Anyway, Gordon did my tattoo and I like that we didn't converse much. Some may find that impersonal, but I'm fine with awkward silence. I'm quite impressed with what I got. A very nice piece indeed. Now to sound like a creeper... I googled (yeah, I went there) the what and who about the shop. And lo and behold from my searches, it said a few of the artists used to tattoo in Sacramento, where I am from. What are the odds of that happening? I just thought it was pretty cool and a nice touch to my experience with the shop.

Tattoo by Aron. Almost done healing. Looks good!

I went to Bulldog for a tattoo last week for the first time. I've been to a few other shops in oly but heard good things about Bulldog so I decided to give it a try. I called ahead on a Friday asking if we could get in later that night. The friendly guy on the other end said they were more of a "walk in" shop and said we'd have to come in and they'd get us in as soon as possible. We showed up at 8 pm and waited for maybe 30-40 min for the first of us to get tattooed. We both had Aron who was friendly, professional and did a good job. He was open to design input and very helpful. The shop was clean and well maintained. I was especially impressed by how friendly the artists and front desk guy was. An older woman came in and complained about customers smoking outside and the guys were very cool about it. They apologized and later I overheard one suggesting they put a sign out front of the shop reminding people to keep 25ft while smoking. I appreciated that they were respectful about the situation. I'd say the only downfall is that the shop is in a weird spot in Lacey- in a small strip mall. But that's not something to deter you from going. It just doesn't have the "oly" feel by being out there. Still gets 4 stars from me though!

    Sherry C.

At this point, this shop has done nine tattoos for me, almost all of them were different artists. Everyone there is great and knows what they're doing. Several times I've ended up paying less than the original quote because of the tattoo being faster or easier than the artist anticipated. They've also stayed open late by two hours, to tattoo a friend and I. Highly recommended for any tattoo style. If something isn't going to look good on you due to sizing, skin tone, layout, etc, they'll tell you and work with you with suggestions on how to alter the image to get around the problem.

    Rachael M.

Corey took me on as a walk in. Super nice guy, drew up what I wanted with little instruction. Shop was clean and had a fun vibe. I'll be back!

Several misses at local tattoo shops delayed me from getting the work done. The motivation was there, but something was missing. I guess i don't need a large shop, a chain, or folks that cant be at their shop when their hours say they'll be, yes, that happened, TWICE. Dre was not only willing to do the work, but JUST AS his IG page says you can message him and hell get back to you. He did, and gave me the confidence he'd be the right guy for the job. I was scheduled, for just a day later! The shop is SUPER clean and isn't cliched. Dre is a SoCal man, but has local art on his walls as well as stuff highlighting his CA heritage, which I admire because I'm a NY transplant myself, which showed me he honors his past, but isn't tied to it. Just enough free spirit to ALSO make him the right guy. Dre has a few apprentice artists working with him right now, one male, one female. This is Super important because some ladies want work in more intimate places, and i think having a choice for the client is smart. Additionally, i think this shows his expectation of growth, which im sure is bound to happen. Oh, and by the way, Dre served this country in a previous career in the military. Theres a humble but strong nod to his service, by way-of his retirement flag and a humble display of his service medals, which I genuinely appreciated. Dre has real technique, noticeable by how he speaks to his apprentice team, giving them direction on how the line work can be done, by tuning out music and listening to the art tools. Real zen stuff which reminded me tattooing is first and foremost ART, and a union of creator and created. None of what I saw was disappointing, every aspect of his shop is elevated, and worthy of much more future business. By the way, my wife and i go back today for her newest ink, and im getting another small one as well. You can see his work @threebirdstattooco on IG. 5 stars? I only wish i could go higher.

(Now I'm starting to wonder why my tattoos end up in different parts of my body... O.O) The place is immaculate and the only litter ever created was when I accidentally dropped a wrapper on the ground and that's actually the only time I saw the mess that it really was. The tattoos produced here are worth every cent and they actually care what you want, what's doable, and what's not. They won't curve the truth and honestly I love seeing that in a business. Plus the majority of the time while I'm getting tattooed were mostly telling jokes, catching up or just staring deep each other's eyes. Lol.
