Great place to shoot! The facility is operated by a competent and knowledgeable staff who are willing to take the time and listen to and understand your needs and make informed recommendations. They offer help and services to the advanced and novice shooters alike with no agenda beyond your enjoyment and safety. The facility is clean and well managed and above all safe. Multiple ranges are available with electronic targets and a variety​ of target types. They offer excellent gunsmithing, a statement I make based on personal experience. They guys know their stuff and their workmanship first rate. The staff is well versed to help the novice as well as more advanced shooters. They have a wide range of pistols and rifles to loan and instructors to help build proficiency in their operation and use. While non members are welcome to take advantage of the facilities, I would encourage anyone interested in shooting to consider a membership. Its money well spent. The short version: This place is amazing. The staff is very helpful/friendly and the equipment they stock is top notch at the best prices. Longer version: I started as a complete newbie during 2020 and despite how busy it always was, they were incredibly helpful (and patient) in teaching me and guiding me in the direction I need--both on the range and at the counter. After I took the time to do many hours of research, shopping, and reading reviews for equipment, I realized that what they stock is the top-quality equipment with the highest reviews (for all budget ranges). Also, when everywhere online was sold out, they had what I needed. They have obviously definitely done their research, so you can be confident that anything you get there will be the best bang for your buck. You can also be confident you're getting a good price, because they don't mark up the prices on their equipment--they make their $ from memberships, services, and the range. Finally, their repair/upgrade/smithing services are great. I wanted to get some parts installed that required a special tool, and one of the staff members not only brought the tool from the back to show me they had it, he also took the extra time to verify the fit was correct before I dropped it off. If you haven't been to Bullet and Barrel in South HSV (#theBEST_HSV), you're WRONG! I'd leave a 10 star review if yelp would let me! Such a wonderful group of people to work with!! There are a few worthy of mention: @Jerrel gave me his personal 410 ammo to use in my new shotgun, loanned me metal work tools to refine my competition revolvers, and always willing to provide support and guidance in weapon handling and training on the range. I called Bullet and Barrel for a private lesson for my grandson for his birthday. I couldn't be more pleased with the people and the interaction with this establishment. My initial phone call was met with kindness and help. Then we went in for his lesson with great excitement. Our instructor was Tommy. He was very good at "reading" our grandson and watching his responses, his attentiveness, and his awareness throughout the class time and the actual range portion. He didn't push him to shoot anything he wouldn't feel comfortable with and in fact encouraged him not to with some of the pistols/rifles we had brought with us. It was a fantastic experience for all of us. We will definitely be going back for some more time to spend at the gun range. I used bullet and barrel as my chosen FFL for a SIG P226 Legion, and the transfer process was smooth and straightforward. The paperwork and information entry was handled efficiently, everything moved quickly, and overall it was a clean and professional experience with nothing to complain about on the transfer side. As for the range, it was also excellent. The range safety officer was professional and attentive, and it was clear they were doing their job the right way--keeping things safe, organized, and running smoothly without making the environment uncomfortable. The front clerks were respectful and helpful, and for a first visit I really appreciated how easy they made everything. I had a great time celebrating my friend's 40th birthday with a group of friends. Tommy & Jamison were both funny and extremely helpful. They provided direct and easy-to-follow instructions, making me feel comfortable throughout the experience. Absolutely wonderful staff with John, Kira, Tom, Liam AND of course George, Roy, Tommy, Dave and Austin (Plus anyone I missed). Only place that carries Staccatos and the membership makes it super affordable to get in practice. Kudos to Pam Anderson and the staff. She is so amazing and her knowledge of handguns is outstanding. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I had an awesome time in her class learning the fundamentals of the handgun. As a female I was nervous and a little intimidated taking the class. Jeff the instructor did an incredible job of going over training for a beginner such as I. He was tremendously patient, kind, and hands-on when correcting my fundamentals, both in class and on the range. He also kept it very light and positive during the entire class not to overwhelm, stress out, or put fear into any of the training process. This is one of my favorite ranges, for several outstanding reasons. The staff is awesome, extremely knowledgeable and not opinionated like a typical shop/range. Second, this range dosent have any of the smooth-brained rules like one shot per second like a usual range and ive never been scolded for double taps or mag drills. Very Friendly Employees!! This was my first time at the gun range and I had a Blast. It was something I wanted to do for my birthday. Because I never really experienced shooting firearms before the proper way. Kale, Carson and Austin was so awesome with my friends and I. They were patient and very understanding the entire time. my son and I went to bullet&barrel today to sight in our hunting rifles. The experience was great, and george the range master was very knowledgeable and patient with us. we were able to shoot our rifle at 100 yards and digitally check our targets without ever moving. we also took an old M1grand ww2 rifle and george helped us get it sighted in. we had so much fun and will be going back. awesome place !!!! mark and justin read more

The Bullet & Barrel gun range in Huntsville, AL is the most modern well staffed gun ranges that I have ever been in. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, especially the training officers. One trainer especially Michael Price goes out of his way to make you welcome and to understand every thing that you need to know or asked of him! Really nice range with a friendly staff. More sound damping it's used than other ranges so it is more comfortable. The air temperature is controlled summer and winter for standard shirt sleeve enjoyment. The target carriers are fast and accurately locate without guessing their spot. Took bullet and barrel's apprentice gun class with Michael and it was up and beyond amazing/informative. Michael was so patient and knowledgable with all aspects of hun safety, control, form (the list goes on). The class lasted just over two hours and we were able to put all the knowledge we learned into practice on a target at the end. I can't recommend this class enough! read more

Great place to pass a good time. Big enough for family and friends. Prices are very affordable. Friendly staff eager to help you in any way they can.
