Everyone was really friendly and interesting to speak with. They have a nice variety of items ranging from notecards featuring locally photographed birds, to dinner-plate-sized (and smaller) stained glass items, to portraits of political figures, and Christmas ornaments. Personally, I enjoyed the stained glass the most! Art is so personal and I prefer modern art, oversized pieces, and mixed media in particular. Despite not seeing anything I just *had* to have, High Cotton is a friendly place and worthy of a visit.

I never even heard a call back from some other places. The pricing offered was VERY reasonable. I ended up renting it by the hour. It has both indoor and outdoor spaces with PLENTY of seating. I loved that the outdoor has speakers hooked up that match indoor sound. There were two bathrooms that were very clean. Only downside is limited parking. The Artnasium is a fantastic hidden gem…read more We go every Thursday for the Baby Michelangelo class that they offer, and it's an absolute blast. For that class, babies under 24 months can come, play with non-toxic finger paints, toys and other activities. At the end of the class, parents leave with a very cute footprint art. It's a great and affordable way for babies and adults to socialize. Classes are $10, and 100% worth it. They also offer open play classes, which is open to any age. There is an option for a membership pass for this class. Artnasium also offers homeschool classes, monthly date night babysitting event and waaaaay more. The owner is very sweet and friendly, and I adore her daughters. To sum it up, The Artnasium is a really great way to get out of the house, and get kids and parents socialized. Go here, you won't be disappointed and I promise you'll make it a regular event on your calendar.

I especially love her paintings of local landmarks such as Burritt Museum, First Methodist Church, Huntsville skyline, Kaffeeklatsch, among many others including still lifes, tableaus, portraits of famous musicians, and famous people in general - all from an extremely unique, fresh, perspective! Looking at her website, it looks like she may have moved to N. Parkway, in Huntsville. Per her website she is offering COVID-friendly classes beginning next month. I highly recommend her as a talented passionate artist and talented, compassionate instructor! We were given 4 balls of clay to throw and mold into shapes we wanted. At the end of the class, we decided what glaze, if any, we wanted. These pieces are to be picked up with the glaze in 2 weeks. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with my girlfriend and me. I had a good time even though I was a little frustrated with myself. I definitely recommend trying this activity out! I'll probably be back for a class myself in the future.

After renovations in the early 1990's it became the Visual Arts Center, hosting art exhibits, classes for adults and children and Folk Art. They are so much fun and delve into all types of media and art history at the same time. My daughter just loves taking art there. They also have classes during the summer for various age groups as well. I wish they had some for adults. One of the art teachers there teaches out of her own studio on Bank Street, as well. She does pottery classes for adults. I'm sure she does other things as well. The ladies that run the arts center are friendly and personable and always remember our names. They are so sweet and so good at their jobs. They also have an informative website for the center. You can become a member of the center and get discounts on events and classes and special notice of events as well.

This is the Spirit Airline of paint classes. I have never experienced a paint class that was so…read morestressful in my life. The booking site says limited class sizes but that is not the case, they had 43 people crammed on top of each other trying to do the class that they paid for and were treated like cattle. Don't expect to be sipping while painting because they don't have enough staff on had to get out one drink during your 2 hour class. Also half the class gave up on trying to paint the picture we were supposedly being taught and the other half was completely covered in paint because the method being taught was wade up a paper towel and dab the painting while the canvases were literally touching each other because everyone was shoulder to shoulder. I have been to many paint classes at other vendors and if the class involves paint slinging or dabbing then a "extra messy" clause was always listied on the booking site Pinots palette offered no such clause so paint at your own risk. So will you leave with a painting? Probably. Will you have fun doing it? Depends on your sense of humor and who you're with, just don't expect to be able to have a drink to sip or a place to set it down at.
