The time is finally right for me to make the commitment to a GSD. Thus, I researched German Shepherd breeders in the Wisconsin area for months and really wasn't finding the "right" one until I found Clayton Warichak's website. I called him to find out more about his dogs and his breeding program. (basically to interview him a little!) I wanted to meet his dogs and see for myself what they were like before deciding if they were right for me. He invited me out to a training he offers every other weekend. (all at no cost). All of the dogs are his breeding and range in age from puppies to adult dogs providing a good age range, enabling me to see structure, temperament, and development along a broad timeline. This also provided me with an opportunity to meet and talk to the many owners, who had a mix of interests in what they were doing with their dogs. I learned of a breeding he was planning and would have puppies born in about three months. After meeting him, his wife, his son, the dogs, and all of the owners of the dogs I knew this was the breeder and line of dogs that I wanted. We agreed that I would get a first pick male puppy from that breeding. He said that because I came out and met him and the dogs he appreciated my sincere interest and would like to work with me also. I was most impressed because not only was I interviewing him, but he was interviewing me. This showed me he was sincerely careful of where his puppies went and who they went with. This is a quality of a truly outstanding breeder. As the time grew closer to the birth of the litter, Clayton kept in regular contact with me, even sending me pictures of the mother's ultrasound showing how many pups there were. The day the pups were born, Clayton called me many times during the course of the day as each puppy was born. (Clayton whelps his litters himself). My gratefulness and excitement was beyond words. It only confirmed that I had made the right decision. Several weeks later I went to his house to pick out my puppy. Being new to the breed I wanted his evaluation and guidance. We critically evaluated all six males carefully. After 35 plus years of breeding GSDs I value and trust Clayton's opinion completely. Several weeks later I went to pick up my puppy (Pan). I was provided with a Litter Certificate, showing Pan's pedigree, a written hip and health guarantee, and a bag containing toys, a collar, and a leash. Clayton also provides the entire regiment of puppy shots over the coming months at no cost. Pan is the most wonderful little guy, full of personality and playfulness. He absolutely loves and plays with my three grandchildren. He learns fast knowing basic commands and is only just 3 months old. He is friendly to everyone including my 12.5 year old sporting dog. Pan represents the carefully planned breedings that Clayton does. Clayton studies pedigrees and carefully plans every breeding. He provided me with pedigrees and pictures of Pan's breeding before Pan was born at my request. His dogs are thoughtfully and carefully bred with enormous knowledge. These dogs can fill a variety of interests from living in family homes to working as police-k9 or in search and rescue, along with agility, conformation, and also Schutzhund (IGP). Clayton is always there to help guide me and answer all of my questions. He returns my phone calls timely. He is a person of extremely high integrity. My puppy is coming 2/12....purple female…read more My first GSD was sired by a Von Der Stradtrand dog and out of an import owned by another breeder. I could not have been happier and my dog lived to be almost 14. My dog was a true soldier to my family, a great pet, ptsd support animal and best friend-a true fur son and as I called him my "Dog man" lol...he was everything and when I saw a litter born 12/20....the same day he passed away I knew I had to have one.... even if a girl this time....which I'm looking forward to. My dog came out of the box at 12 weeks potty trained, never chewed or bit ....he was a model puppy in behavior. We understand that's rare but he was born intelligent and with a great love of humans. He would not eat until the human said to....even though we never taught that! He was always focused on me and gentle with my grandkids and his cat (Pumpsy). We already love our new girl and all we've seen is a couple photos. The whole litter is spectacular and it was hard picking between the 3 Clayton liked for us. Recently went to Janesville Vet Clinic East with my fuzzy chi boy, Sir Paris Von Floof, for his paw check up. We saw Dr. Nicole. Now, this was a bit confusing, as we had previously gone to the West clinic, and called for a follow up, and no one told us to go to the other clinic, so we were late to the follow up, but it's all good, because they aren't too far apart, and we were allowed to be late. The techs and Dr. Nicole are all very, very nice. They adore Sir Paris, and spend most of the visit telling him how cute he is, which he is quite aware of, but never gets sick of hearing about. I really thought it was quite thoughtful how many signs they had up regarding important health and safety information, regarding such things as "NO HUGS OR HANDSHAKES WILL BE GIVEN which is especially hard for the staff during times of euthanasia" (paraphrasing, possibly? Going from memory), all rooms are sanitized after each use, and the sign warning that peanut butter is used in all exam rooms, so if you have an allergy, let them know. I mean, this is important stuff that you should see in more vet offices, but you don't. They're really stepping up the game here. They have a basket of dog toys in the hallway. Paris got his nails trimmed, tested his paws for yeast, and got some medicated wipes for his little feetses, we're going to wait and see if this stops him from incessantly licking/chewing his paws and legs. This place is kinda moderately pricey, but it's very nice, there's no wait, and they're very nice.

We moved to Janesville last fall and before arriving all our pets were up to date on vaccinations…read more It is fall again, so we needed to find a good veterinarian, for both canine and aviary. Janesville Veterinary Clinic East was able to meet all our needs under one roof. We have a 5 and a 11 year old golden retriever, a 16 week old puppy and a 28 year old Blue and Gold McCaw. So yes, we needed a vast array of different services, for young, old and feathery. The first order was updated shots for the dogs. The staff is very friendly and they talked to our pets, like family, just like we treat them at home which comforted them. After all, no one likes the Doctors office, right? Anything to make it less stressful the better. Next step was to provide dental cleaning for our older dog. We had never had her sedated previously, so we were anxious. During the procedure, they called us updated us on her status, told us she was doing fine under the Anesthesia, which was very unexpected and thoughtful. Then the said she required having a tooth pulled, which we already had suspected. I was stressed out thinking about the pain she would be in when she came home and the dreaded "pill feeding". She slept most of that day, and the next morning I was happy the medication was chewable and tasty, and it was happy like it never happened. (I suspect the drugs helped) I like their caring attitude, professionalism, and their guidance on new products and medications. The medications suggested for our dogs, all chewable/lickable and tasty. Never has been giving our dogs medication been so easy!!! They also suggested a new flea/tick medication, also chewable and tasty. No more hiding pills in hot dogs and hoping they don't figure it out. I really like this veterinary clinic, probably the best we have had.

I saw Guinea pigs in a layer of feces, feces flung all over the walls, and filthy fish tanks. I saw more dead animals than I ever thought I'd see in a store called 'Pet Pals', including a lizard so dead he was starting to dehydrate. There was a fish that was alive but stuck in the filter (along with several other dead and decaying fish) so I told the man working there and he just said 'Yeah, that happens all the time.' Didn't go back to resolve the issue, didn't even say 'let me take care of that' to make me feel like he was going to. Just no effs given. I was particularly scarred by the look of a dogs face who was lying on the ground in the back room with sad eyes. I don't feel that dog is taken care of either, and why should I after everything else that I saw? This place should be shut down or sold to someone who has even a single caring bone in their body.

We fell in love with this female kitten and because she was still so small they hadn't spayed her yet. They told us they would call back the next week when she was spayed and ready to go home. We put in an application and we were approved. They called back the next week and we were able to go back and pick up our new kitten. Again we were treated very well and the final process to adopt went smoothly. We have a happy, healthy kitten and are very pleased with working with this shelter.

I just had a terrible experience with this breeder. After having visited her once to see her…read morekittens several months ago, my husband and I wanted a female flame ragdoll. She told us she was going to breed one of her females with a flame male, but that never happened. All this time later I get an email saying one of her females, a tortie, had a litter and that she wanted $250 (non-refundable deposit) immediately. I told her I wasn't exactly ready to pay her the deposit and that I wanted to come by again to see the babies. Then she responds 2 minutes later, saying: ---Felicia, The kittens are only 1 week old. No one comes over until they are around 6 weeks old. Other breeders want deposits before the kittens are even born and the deposits are non refundable. I dont do that, but I do expect deposits once the kittens are born. I explained that to you over the phone when we first spoke and it was also in the email I originally sent to you. I no longer feel comfortable with you adopting a kitten from me, so you are free to go to another breeder. If you go to www.rfci.org you will find other breeders listed by state.
