My experience with this dealership has been consistently disappointing. From the start, I was told they didn't have any used bikes--only to later learn they actually store them upstairs. Instead, the salesman pushed me into test-riding a new Ultra Limited and pressured me to buy it on the spot. Prices here also tend to be higher than what you'll find on the official HD website, so you end up paying extra for convenience. And once you're inside, don't expect much support; employees rarely greet customers or offer help, and getting questions answered is a challenge. That said, there are a few bright spots. The building itself is aesthetically impressive, the local HOG chapter seems like a great group of folks, and the service department has been fantastic to work with. They got me on the schedule quickly, communicated clearly, and serviced my bike in a timely, professional manner--easily the best part of the dealership. I had to call them back every week for three or four weeks for status updates until he finally told me that my frame was twisted and it would be $15,000 to fix. The frame was not twisted and the bike is now repaired for less than 2000. I don't even think he looked at it. He finally went to the receptionist and asked about a particular make and model. She called a sales person and he was told no you do not have that bike in stock . End of conversation . No came out to see about ordering one or helping find the bike at another dealer . 1) Harley complains about young people not buying their bikes. You would have possibly sold one to a young man today. 2) he had money and was ready to buy, but your no customer service encouraged him to go to another dealer. 3) he grew on the back of my Harley , has owned Harley's himself and only sold his last one due to being deployed . 4) I am embarrassed, sadden and mostly disgusted that he was treated that way by a business that represents Harley. I was in the market to upgrade my Ultra Limited and had been shopping around Middle TN for a few weeks. I stopped by Bumpus just to see what kind of used inventory they had. I met Josh, and he was very helpful in showing me the used bikes. He appeared very knowledgeable about the bikes and features, and pulled 2 of them outside so I could test drive them. He was not overbearing or pushy on any particular model. Once the deal was made, Alex was very quick with the paperwork, and I was out the door in short order. On the same day of the purchase, I bought 2 accessories (back rest and LED lights). The service dept installed them in about 2 hours, so I didn't have to wait another day before the bike was ready to go. Overall, I had a very good experience here. Service department is full of rockstars!!! I was using a throttle lock and my loose mirror blew back and grabbed it. I laid it down when I hit a piece of tire while trying to reset it. Slid 30 yards down the road directly in front of Bumpus Harley. The guys ran up to the street to help me. They picked up my bike and pushed it over a hundred yards down to the service department for me. $5500 in damage and they got my bike back to me in 8 weeks!!! BRAVO!!! TJ and the rest of the service staff are professional, thorough, and motivated to help you. I will not go anywhere else when I am in Nashville. I have not paid that on not one of the 3 other motorcycles I have bought. (Yamaha's). OH, it was not my credit to debt ratio either because that is 31%. Drove down from Nashville yesterday to buy a CVO but after arriving and seeing the kind of crowd out front I was a little Leary of even going inside. I bought my first Harley from Bumpus/Murfreesboro last year, and the transaction couldn't have been more enjoyable. Gary Porter & Miss June were the best in helping me to buy my old Road King from them. Sadly, their inept, rude, and unprofessional service department has made damn sure that I'll never step foot in there again, to say nothing of spending my hard-earned cash. From the start; The rear tire was misaligned & rubbed a groove in the sidewall of my my tire before I caught it. They offered to eat the labor cost if I bought the tire, and I asked them to change the oil. The wheel was still way off even after they 'aligned' it, there wasn't enough torque on the oil drain plug, and the missing torque was apparently given to the oil filter, because I had to ram a screwdriver through it in order to break it loose when I changed my own oil, saving me $100 in labor cost. A few weeks ago they picked up my bike for a transmission fluid leak, and diagnosed it as loose tranny door bolts. $63 for half hour's labor later, I was told I could pick it up. The transmission started making an awful chirping/squealing sound before I got home, and the leak came back. No fluid registered on the dipstick, so I parked it with a pan under the bike for two weeks. I then drained what was left in the tranny into the pan and found 4 ounces of fluid remaining inside. They never bothered to check the fluid level or to top it off, and allowed me to ride home 50 miles with basically a dry transmission. The service manager wasn't interested in hearing anything from me other than agreeing to let them work on it again, and was very rude and dismissive to my concerns. If Brian's customer service skills are an indication of how he runs his shop, it's no wonder why their service department is seen as a joke to many riders in Middle Tennessee. I'm a blue-collar guy who rides a twenty year old bike, not an aging Boomer who can afford a $40,000 CVO Road Glide Special. That doesn't mean that my business isn't important, or so I thought. So far, all they've lost is any potential future purchases or service from me, and I guess they won't miss it. Too bad, because everyone else at Bumpus is an asset, from the sales & financing staff, to the girls in the clothing/accessories department, to the grouchy guy in Parts. read more

My mother has been working with Greg for 6 weeks to buy my dad a bike for his 50th birthday. He notified her yesterday that he had two bikes that fit the specs we needed. She arrived this morning and viewed both bikes confirming to purchase one of the two. Greg then notifies her that another gentleman is about to test drive it for purchase. She offers to purchase without the test drive. However, he says they have to let the other guy drive it and decide first. This is especially disheartening since we found out they have had the bike a week! (We could have bought sooner). She was told he had two bikes "saved" for her. If a deposit was needed- it could have been done! Furthermore, the other salesman states "he don't really want this bike, he just wants to test drive it." So why would you not allow my mother to purchase in full if "you've been working with her for 6 weeks" just to sell it right from under to someone who didn't even want it. The customer service is absolutely lacking and Greg is completely unprofessional. This bike was PERFECT for my dad and everything we needed. But they cared more about money than the customer and purpose. I advise going else where or working with someone other than Greg. My mother was devastated and he was completely unapologetic. The sales and parts department are pretty good. Service..... Forget about it. I could not get the service department to even return my call after several attempts. I even left two more messages with the service manager and still got nothing. I love the Harley-Davidson brand and product, but there is a huge gap of accountability between corporate HD and the dealership when it comes to service and repairs. It's all hands on deck at the dealership for the sale. After that, you'll need to find a good motorcycle repair shop because they won't even call you back here. read more

I was in the market for a used Wide Glide and kept checking at local dealers including Bumpus. I finally found one and bought it from an individual. I came to Bumpus to get a helmet and they worked with me until I found a helmet that fit my huge gourd. The lady who helped me suggested riding goggles also and helped me find a pair that fit over my glasses comfortably. When I was checking out she asked me if I had ever served in the military. I told her I had, so she told me I could take the new riders course offered by Harley Davidson and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for free if I signed up before September. I took the course, received my certificate, and got my license and all I had to pay was $14 at the DMV. I needed a rain suit but they didn't have the one I was looking at in my size, and the other one was a bit more expensive. They sold me the more expensive suit for the price of the cheaper one. The parts department has been super helpful in locating things I'm adding to my bike and making sure it fits my model. If you visit on a Saturday they often have things going on and sometimes even have free food so it pays to ride by there and see what's going on. read more

My 112lb Fiancee wanted to learn to shift on a Trike. They only offer Motorcycles in their Riding Academy. She called first & told them she had no previous Motorcycle riding experience and she hadn't ridden a bicycle in years. They encouraged her to spend her $250 and take the course. They told her she could do it and "the bike wants to stay up". She gets on the range lays it down, gets back on and wants to continue. Coach tells her she should not have been allowed to take the class and tells her she should go ride a bicycle for a couple of weeks and come back. She also caught the secret eye signals going on between the Coaches - that didn't help her confidence any. My Fiancee was hurt and upset at being encouraged to quit. Bumpus offered (yet to see it) a 50% refund on what she paid. She didn't quit - she should have been given 100% refund. Bumpus / HD is missing out on women buyers and now this buyer. They should offer at least one Trike as part of their lineup. Not everyone wants to learn on or own a 2 wheel bike. HD and Bumpus is missing out on future sales. We'll be buying elsewhere. read more

Sales staff are good, as you'd expect when the profit margin is high. But service is awful. I had a very simple fix required for my bike, but it took months. Parts not in, then parts were in but no technician available, then technician available, but appointment can't be scheduled for two weeks, got the appointment but then they called to reschedule, rescheduled but bike not ready when promised. I chose Bumpus to process my Rider to Rider purchase of a Harley. I felt irrelevant and duped by Bumpus. 1) I left several messages with the Finance department to process my purchase. It took the rider selling the bike, going into the dealership and raising hell to get anyone's attention. 2) I didn't know the terms of my Harley Davidson Financial loan until the dealership gave them to me over the phone, part of this was understanding my monthly payment, Alex failed to disclose all the fees included in the purchased until I drove 5 hours and I was sitting in front her buying the bike. She included them in the monthly payment she gave me but never told me what the monthly payment included. 3. I did not find out until I arrived I had to pay $465 to have Bumpas check out the bike and some other strange inexplicable fee. (my loan was $5000 after all the fees, $6242.. really)! Then I trailered my bike 5 hours home to find out the battery is dead, hopefully the new one will keep a charge, the second set of headlights don't work, and one of the keys to the bike didn't work. I contacted Alex about the battery and she claims it tested fine and maybe I could contact the seller and get them to replace it other wiser gave me the impression I was SOL! My recommendation, use Boswell (Nashville) or Moonshine (Franklin) HD dealerships over Bumpus Murfreesboro, to ensure descent, and good personable service. read more

He talked to me about the most expensive one and when I asked if he had any others he didn't respond to my email. Then a week later he responded to my email I had sent asking if I was still interested. I sent my questions once again and now, two weeks later no response. If you buy a bike from Bumpus HD in Murfreesboro, beware. If you buy any aftermarket items and have them installed on your bike and are not in good standing with them, they will turn you in to HD has having aftermarket items installed on your bike and the HD will place a block on your VIN. A blocked VIN means that if you sell your bike, a dealer cannot offer you extended warranty. This place is an awful place to buy a bike from and the service manager has treated me very poorly by ordering this block placed on my VIN because I had aftermarked V&H Longshots and a SuperTuner purchased from them. Beware of BUmpus Harley Davidson and especially their service department and general manager. read more
