During term time I live within a thirty second walk of this place and so use it at least four times a week for the essentials. Their main selling point has to be their freshly baked bread which, although not cheap, is certainly delicious. My favourite has to be their French loaf which makes for a great lunch-time baguette. They also sell a huge selection of curry sauces, frozen meals, fresh chicken, beef and cold meat and a range of quality fruit and vegetables. There's a cash machine in the corner as well, so there's not much more you could want (except lower prices).

When I went the guy hand picked the items in front of me which is normal and I took a quick look in the bag and seemed all normal, once I got home I had a proper look at all 23 items of fruit and saw that each and everyone one was rotten. Hollow advocados, mushy mouldy grapes, mouldy apricots, wrinkled plums, brown bananas stuffed at the bottom of the bag. I was honestly horified that this place could sell ROTTEN food, inedible food which is 100% against all food violations. I will be reporting this as it is illegal to sell food like this to the public.

The store is well stocked with a wide variety of groceries saving you the need to battle the Morrisons checkout queue if all you want is a loaf of bread, a bottle of Irn Bru, the Airdrie Advertiser and a scratchcard. The staff are really friendly; there are only 3 guys that ever work here, so you get to know them and they're always up for chatting about the weather in true shop-keeper style. On one occasion I realised when I got to the till that I didn't have enough money, they just let me pay them the next time I was in. I think they could see I was in need of my supa-noodle fix! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that you do need to be careful with the sell-by dates on food sometimes. Usually when something's reduced in here it's because it's way past its date. Apart from that though, this place is a little gem.

The service is friendly and welcoming, and the shop, although relatively small, has a light and airy feel to it.
