Bunny's is a historical landmark of sorts in Urbana, sharing a parking lot with the Rose Bowl. Bunny's is the go to spot for after a night out meals. It's generally crowded, loud, and fried. I know people who also like to go drink at Bunny's at the end of their service shifts of the crowd is that demographic. The food is OK. The iced tea is horrendously. Awful. The prices are OK though, I wish I just gone to Perkins. read more

We've lived in Urbana for 20+ years, and this was our first time. The loaded tater tots were great. Really interesting idea. Onion rings were decent. Fish fries look good and thinking of coming back to try them. My wife thought the Fatty Melt was great. Gave 4 stars because smoked ribs were a bit dry, but a good price. AND more importantly, they allow smoking in outside areas but don't have designated non-smoking areas outside for those of us that no longer want to breathe second hand smoke when eating. Since it was fish fry Friday, the inside smelled like fried fish, so it will be a difficult trick to figure out where to sit next time (smell like cigarettes or fried fish) read more

We stopped in for a couple of drink and cheese curds "with a kick". They were too spicy for me (even with ranch), but my friend loved them!

I could not put my finger on it but something was off about it, not sure if the grease was old or if it was too much seasoning but i did not like it. We've been here once before and I had one of the burgers and enjoyed it. Tonight I had the fried cod, not realizing it wasn't beer battered. I was very disappointed. We sat on the covered patio and it was very loud. Both times we've been there people have been smoking. That's illegal in IL, yet the restaurant put out ashtrays on the tables. We decided to take a trip off campus to downtown Urbana for a Friday night out after one of our favorite spots on campus was much too crowded. A friend has been to Bunny's before and suggested it might be a good option for a quieter, cheaper night out. The inside was nicer than I expected for a tavern, so that was a pleasant surprise. Lots of locals inside, I think we were the only students there. They have slot machines which I elected to try and lost $3. They have a decent selection of bottled beer, but only a few common ones on tap, Guinness included so I was happy to be able to get one of those. The bartender seemed nice, although I don't think he knew how to properly pour a Guinness. Not a big deal. I didn't feel that Bunny's was by any means inexpensive though, at least for me. Both of my beers were $4.50, my friends Jim Beam and coke was $3.50. The campus bars are probably cheaper though if you're really just looking to save $. Overall an A-OK experience, I'd come back again and would like to try the food. read more

Bunny's is a classic town dive bar. Nothing too special to talk about here. Dont sit outside unless you want to enjoy some second-hand smoke. Menu is what you would expect with classic bar food. Their fries are actually quite good (thicker then 'classic' fries but thinner then a wedge) and their friday fried walleye sandwich is a reason to come back. Prices were very good (I paid 5.50 for sandwich). My husband came here first with some coworkers for lunch (they insisted he HAD to try it), and he later brought me. I'm so glad that he did. The burgers were delicious, my only regret is not getting the onion rings, although the fries were great, the breading on the onion rings just looked amazing! We brought it up in passing with a neighbor and they let us know a bit about the history as well and how much they loved it as well as made suggestions for the next time. The walleye fish sandwich was very good & large, which was good, since my wife's food never came. Nobody checked back with us and we thought it was surely going to come out. Normally I'm not into townie bars or shot-and-a-beer bars or whatever. And this place wouldn't be my first local choice either except they're the only place in town, or anywhere for that matter, that will humor my cricket fetish by letting me stream matches from my Willow app onto their Chromecast-equipped TV. In fact they've been much more accommodating than Chicago's famed "we show all international sports" Globe Pub (by which they really mean "we show the same American sports as any other sports bar, plus soccer") a couple miles from my home. I wish I could watch cricket matches at more craft-beer-oriented places like Pour Brothers or Crane Alley or Jupiter's while in town. But I have asked, and they have been not very receptive. The folks at Bunny's on the other hand have not only been receptive but incredibly gracious. The entire staff from top management down to the bar backs have been absolutely delightful. I won't lie, the beer snob in me really wishes they had more than a half-dozen or so quality beers to choose from. But when I want to watch a cricket match and my mother-in-law is not willing to relinquish her television, I will gladly head to Bunny's and work with what they have on offer. In fact, I'm sure I'll keep coming even after the Cricket World Cup is over. read more

A very cute old fashioned bar in downtown Urbana. I love sitting outside with my boyfriend and just putting back a few beers. They also have really good burgers and they have the toppings as self serve which I personally really enjoy. They also have slot machines and other gabeling machines.
