I love burger and shake! The burgers are really juicy and messy and the fries are really good! Some might find the burgers a tad oily but I liike them this way! They do a range of other bits and pieces too if you dont fancy a burger and they do great lunch deals! The music is retro and the place has an american diner feel.to it! The buffalo chicken burger was so good that I'm literally craving one right now as I write this review.

Stop by here to try the £6 pulled pork sandwich. The portion was great, a generous helping of pulled pork and coleslaw. The pull pork was pretty good, nothing really special, but the coleslaw on top really pulled the burger together. The slaw was not to saucy and added that extra crunch to the burger to balance the texture of the pull pork. I really like the flavor the onion and the parsley added to the slaw it was what raised the sandwich from ok to "seconds please." read more

Came in around 21:00 on a Sunday after reading great reviews about this place. Small place and friendly staff. Great tasting meat - was apprehensive about the medium rare standard but it was pretty good. As an American, this was a standard burger place, but it was nice to find a low-key spot during our hectic trip. The buffalo wings were my favorite! read more

They sell burgers and shakes, houseburger decent, shake good, beer cold and sweet potato fries fine. Pulled pork however not reccommended.

Hidden little burger shop. Has a mom and pop feel to it, small and cozy. Ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Medium well burger was delicious and juicy along with soft bun. Fries not the best I've had but definitely good. Would go here again. read more

The food here is fabulous. The cheeseburger is the kind where juices drip out and you need chips to dip in them. Both are amazing. The macaroni is satisfying and a side order is a small meal. Service is friendly and local. You must try a burger medium rare! Oh and the music rocks. read more

I'm visiting London from California and tonight I wanted dinner that did have some unexpected ingredient I it. We picked this place over the Italian down the street. It was an excellent choice I got the fried chicken burger. The fried chicken was average but the bun was divine. And it was nice to see good ol Ketchup and mayo on the table. We also got the sweet potato fries (awesome) and the house red (not bad). Good job London - you got a nice hold on American food while keeping your English flair. read more

I eat here primarily for the hot dogs and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings are amazing and the hot dogs are quite yummy. I have not tried the burgers, but the Philly cheese steak was disappointing and the chili is not good. However, I completely recommend the shakes, excellent. The prices are good and the shop is comfortable with a cute diner feel. read more

The quick a friendly service keep this rating from being any lower. My burger was soggy, undercooked, and the fries were pretty underwhelming. If you are looking for a quality burger go somewhere else. On a positive note the shake I ordered was quite good. read more

When that deep hunger strikes and you yearn for a really high quality American burger, with all the trimmings,the choice can be surprisingly limited. So it was with some anticipation, suspicion and trepidation that I entered Burger and Shake, a couple of days into their opening. Location The ground floor of a Georgian house within a parade of shop terraces opposite the bustling but somewhat brutal concrete edifice that is the Brunswick Centre. The dining area is small but they have made good use of the space. The dimensions of the room makes for a degree of intimacy. Muted colours and simple furniture. Quite funky aluminium tile ceiling. Rating 8/10 Atmosphere From young and trendy to the not so young and trendy, the place seems to attract a fair breadth of society. Staff were personable and polite but busy. This is a quick service establishment and it does show. If you want a leisurely three hour meal, this definitely would not be the place. If you want to have a super filling taste of Americana and be in and out within the hour, then this is the place for you. Rating 8/10 Menu The food is big. Highly calorific and utterly delicious. Vegetarians may feel somewhat lost as the menu options were not designed with satisfying them. My mission parameters did not allow for deviation from the quest for burger, so I did not enquire further about Vegan or Vegetarian options. A Big Aberdeen Angus burger pattie with Amercian cheese, fragrant pickle, sauce and sweet crispy bacon, with toasted bun, were my choice. I wish I had taken a picture, (I may on my return), to demonstrate the glory of the meat and juices but you'll just have to take my word for it. And Oh, was I in heaven. I cannot fault anything from the bun, to the taste of the beefy goodness enveloping the melted cheese with pickle. This is a burger for true devotees. There is no getting away from it. On a scale of 1 to 10, we are at a 11. These burgers are built to destroy lesser beings, so beware, do not go there when not hungry. I was not destroyed so I proceeded to the chicken wings. Againg, delicious in their crispy goodness. The twice fried chicken wings were glistening in a hot red sauce of note and are worth coming to the place for alone. So juicy and tender. Yet, a complete absence of grease overload. Result. At this point, I admitted defeat. I did not have any cake, so rating does not take this into account. Rating 10*/10 Drink There was the usual soda, wine and beer on offer. I stuck to Cola. Rating 3/5. Conclusion. This place will give the new wave of upscale burger joints a run for their money. It is does all the normal things one would expect either very well or acceptably so, (drinks on offer/waiting staff etc), but it does one thing exceptionally well. That is, of course, to produce burgers of such quality and taste that I'm already making my next booking, (except of course I am not, because they do not take bookings, why ? are they mad?). Came here for burger and chips. Nice little place. Fairly quiet and minimalist. The burger was good. A very soft bite. Very tasty. The fries were a bit odd, they are just like oven fries which have been deep fried. Not enough potato there for me. Just a little strange. Had the coleslaw as well, could have been better, needs a little more moisture to it. The service was fine. A young American guy served us, but the Australian superior was giving him a really hard time and was obviously very pissed off with him which made things a little uncomfortable. Definitely worth a visit. But the few things I mentioned, for me, need to be tweaked. read more

One year later I came back to burger and shake. Quality is the same, superb. Once again I asked to remove all pepper from the meal and my request was fully granted. I ordered a chicken cheese burger. Meat is thick and cooked deadly spot one. I highly recommend this place if you are nearby and want to eat a real burger. Staff is great, very good service. read more

Without exaggeration the BEST burger restaurant I have been to in London. The burgers are cooked to perfection, the shakes are delicious the staff are attentive and well-informed. What's not to like?! The only 'problem' I envisage is that when this place becomes more well-known by word of mouth, it is going to be a nightmare getting a table. This is my local restaurant and I popped in for a bite to eat. I had a 'Beetroot Burger' as it's one of the two new items on the 'specials' board. I had it cooked to medium rare, as it is their house standard. The beetroot complimented the juicy burger as well as the topping of rocket. With this I had a creamy hard shake 'Ovaltini' and finished with the peanut butter cheesecake. I liked the burger enough that it might have replaced the 'pulled pork sandwich' as my favourite dish. We had a good late lunch there today while taking a day off of sightseeing. We had a good meal, with tasty burgers for my husband and six year old and a good macaroni and cheese for me that hit the spot. The highlight was a strawberry shake that we shared for dessert. We were on a class trip in London and discovered Burger and Shake via Yelp because we wanted to try something new. It was close to the hotel and has the best food you will ever taste. We were having some doubts on the way there, but it quickly changed. The place was really cute and seemed popular because it was literally full all three times we were there. Friendly staff, very cosy, a little bit small, only one bathroom, so if it is busy could be quite owkward. Food is very good a little pricy, house burger is about £9.00 (very delicious), side portion of coleslow £2.75, chips £2.75. We shared a portion of Chips and for the strater we had a 16 peaces of bufalo chicken wings with a blue cheese sauce on the side. I would definately come back here. read more

Overpriced and lacking creativity, Burger and Shake is a disappointing addition to a crowded market. Attempting and failing to imitate its leading competitors, the decor feels tacky and creates a cold, unwelcoming atmosphere. Quality of the burger is average, overpriced for what you recieve and extremely disappointing compared to what they claim to deliver. I found the bun stale, the patty lacking seasoning and the bacon burnt. The fries were overcooked and limp creating a carboard esque taste and the bowls they are served in are reminiscent of something you would feed a dog in. The menu is simple and uncreative. Printed on a flimsy bit of cardboard, marked with grubby fingerprints and riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes it adds to the cheap feel of the place. Trying too hard to imitate its competitors, the branding is dull. Would not recommend, does not compare to competitors for quality and value for money, definitely will not be repeating my visit. read more

We went to Burger and Shake and were asked for our order about a minute after stepping in. Not ready yet we asked for a couple more minutes but this was very rushed. We were asked our drinks order having not been given a menu yet and then stood over whilst we decided. The waiter broke a glass and my friend was given a meat rather than vegetarian burger which we had to get changed. The food was ok but only up to fast food standard and more pricey than that. Although the milkshakes were very nice. The bill arrived with a 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge on. This isn't usual for just a small group at lunchtime but we thought we would pay it anyway. We didn't have the final 30p of the 'discretionary service charge' which it said at the bottom of the bill was optional so we didn't leave it. We were then stopped as we were leaving and told we still had to pay the 30p, when we pointed out that it was 'discretionary' the waiter (the one who dropped the glass and brought us the meat burger rather than veggie) then asked us what was wrong with the service and we stood there and argued over 30p. Apparently 12.5% is the normal 'tip' in the UK, and there was us thinking that a 'tip' was traditionally 10% and 'optional'. We are NEVER going back. WE can't believe how unvalued they made us feel, I wish we'd taken back the rest of the 'discretionary' service charge after that. read more
