Half our family loves lobster and half loves burgers so this was the perfect spot for us. We arrived on a Friday night as a party of six and was quickly seated upstairs, though they were very busy. All of our drinks tasted good and all of the burgers were delicious. The half lobsters were good too! I ordered a seafood pasta and it was mediocre. The squid was amazing in it and so was all the seafood, but the sauce was bland and the pasta a little cold. We'd recommend checking this place out.
From what I understand, Burger & Lobster first opened in 2011. Now the brand has something like nine restaurants across London, as well as New York, Dubai, Bangkok, Malaysia, Kuwait and Singapore. I hope they open up a joint in the San Francisco Bay Area even though at first blush burgers and lobsters are an unorthodox hybred of the two -- where casual meets decadent. There's a vaguely nautical, but classy and hip theme. Also, the funky / pop house music makes it feel really lively. From a space standpoint, the tables are spaced far enough apart so it doesn't feel like many other London establishments but plenty enough occupied tables which highlights Burger & Lobster's rampant popularity. I started out with three Rock Oysters on the half shell served traditionally with lemon, Tabasco, and shallot vinaigrette. They were good and fresh. For the main course, I went with the Beast Burger and opted for the slightly smaller 5oz Angus beef patty topped with lobster meat, melted brie, fennel slaw, truffle & tarragon mayo. Instead of fries, I opted for a small side salad. If you get the opportunity, go to Burger & Lobster!
Had reservations on open table. Was told that there were actually no tables, after a back-and-forth they were able to give us 2 tables and split our party in 2. It was rather an annoying start to the experience. The place itself is very nice, comfy and stylish. Certainly more than any other serious burger joint. The food was great. We tried several burgers, lobster and lobster rolls. Everything tasted great and was well cooked. The waitress did not really know the menu very well though. For example, we asked what the vegetable patty was and she had no clue. We asked for ice-water and we were told that they don't have that but they can bring an extra glass with ice. Just some quirks maybe to the individual waitress. Prices are slightly above what you expect, Overall, would come here again if in the area but would not seek it out specifically.
Just off of the strength that you get a good size Burger as well as a whole lobster roll, I will sold. The lobster roll came with that butter and had a lot of Lobster in it. Some people do skimp. The burger was thicken very flavorful. The way staff was very helpful. I mean, I'm ordering a cheeseburger and lobster, it's not like they have to help that much LOL but they were very nice. As soon as I get off the plane, this was the first place I went to. I was not disappointed at all!
You don't find many burger joints that also have Lobster/seafood so we decided to give B&L a try. It was busy around 7:30 Wednesday evening. A 1/2 hour wait became 15 minutes which was a nice surprise. A good size dining area with a long bar. We started with a local draft Lager (can't remember the name) & the Lobster Martini which was excellent. Ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese which was also excellent & a good portion for sharing. We all wanted to try their B&L (Surf & Turf) burger. Temperature choices are medium or well-done. Burgers were cooked more than medium. Despite that, the combo of Gruyere & Lobster on top of the Patty worked well together. It is a rich and filling burger despite being 5 oz & looking like a slider when it comes out. Two ordered regular fries (it's a la carte) & mentioned they tasted like the fries of the fast food place that has served many. We also ordered the Parmesan truffle potatoes. Although a bit oily, were definitely a better compliment to the B&L burger & worth the upgrade. If you are really hungry, the regular burger sans Lobster is 10 oz and a bit lower in price. Surprising they highlighted that their beef comes from Nebraska given the locally sourced movement. Worth a try for the B&L Combo burger & cocktails & a few tables looked like they were enjoying the Lobster also. Service was friendly and attentive.
G was a wonderful server. She was kind and bubbly and fun! We had the burger and lobster combo with a side of salad and fries to split. Our cocktails were also amazing. I had the smoke and fire (tequila based) and hubby had a classic vodka gimlet. The place has a cool vibe with thumping music, a mixed lively crowd and did I mention lobster!!!!!!! Tea was amazing, insane, over the top and unforgettable. Service was top notch, great choices of teas, beautiful space, great tea-type foods (which are basically mayo-based things or sweet things), very cool dining area (as well as the rest of the place) and of course those Had an overnight in London and found this place while walking around SoHo. Bottom line: Whether you're in combination of the two or just crave a burger or lobster by itself, burger and lobster has amazing food despite the hefty price tag. I ordered the Jersey burger (medium rare) and fries . The Jersey burger is described as Jersey beef, truffle confit, onions, smoked burger sauce, mature cheddar cheese, truffle and Grana Padano chips. I think it was on a seeded bun, but I don't know which one. The burger was super juicy. Medium rare and delicious. London whips up a mean burger. That's it's crown jewel. The fries were a bit thicker for 'chips' but the Parmesan and black truffle really turned something sublime into something extraordinary . The quality of the 8 oz burger meat really made this truly special . Would order again if i lived here. But only on occasion because it's super pricy. read more

AMAZING customer service on point! Food fresh, seasoned and Awesome! The Lobster Roll is THE VERY BEST. The burger combo was cooked to perfection, large and tasty! Fries cooked with just enough crispness very tasty. read more

Tasty burgers, lobster was cold by the time it arrived to our table. Looked busy when we got there and it took servers quite a while to take our order. Very friendly staff, though. Music was upbeat and adequate for a diner like restaurant. Will probably come back. For the burgers. read more

Absolutely amazing!!!! We found this place on Yelp and saved it. We walked to the restaurant and entered. The place was nice and cozy! There was a 10 minute wait which was not that bad. Our waiter was super friendly and the menu was very simple. I ordered the 5oz burger with 1lb lobster. The food came out quickly. Oh wait, I got the truffle fries as well. The best of both worlds, a burger and lobster. My GOODNESS the food was amazing. Our waiter recommended a fabulous cocktail for me that came with a shot of prosecco! I ended up ordering two!!!! I think it was called a lobster martini! I cannot wait to come back to this place! read more

I read in an article that this place has good lobster for a fair price. My fiancé and I decided to share the lobster burger combo. Which was perfect for the two of us! He enjoyed the lobster and I thought the burger was delicious. The fries were yummy! I liked the salad and dressing but it was hard to eat out of the cup they put it in without spilling it everywhere and it could have also had a little bit more dressing on it. Our server was very friendly! I would recommend! read more
"I want to take you to one of my favorite restaurants!" my dear friend said after a martini at Duke's. "It's called Burger & Lobster!". Wait, what? Did I hear you correctly through my martini haze? Just a few blocks outside the ever zoo-like Picadilly area (where we were staying), this place was hoppin'! Usually packed (per my friend) but the wait is usually short. By the time we visited the bar & had our drinks our table was ready. I ordered the grilled lobster (followed what my friend ordered & she insisted grilled) & H opted for the B&L because he can never pass up a burger. The food came out quickly & boy howdy was it ever so good! The salad had crispy veggies with a tangy vinaigrette, the lobster grilled just right, crispy-tender chips & my oh my the drawn herbed butter. H said his burger was top notch, juicy & chock full of flavor. Really enjoyed our meal! The service was spot on, fast & the food delicious. read more

Who would've thought a restaurant with three menu items could draw such big crowds? When my friend suggested we go for lobster in London, I'll admit I was a little hesitant; however, I was put at ease upon seeing the hoards of people when we walked in. I figured if everyone was flocking to Burger & Lobster, it must be great! We had to wait about 30 minutes on a Sunday for dinner but I was able to make my way to the bar and order a bottle of wine for us to sip on while waiting. Eventually we were seated and not given any menus. Why? It's pretty easy for the waiter to explain. You can get lobster (steamed or grilled), a lobster roll, or burger. Each costs 20 pounds. Simple enough! We all went with lobster which also came with fries and a salad. I asked for it grilled but you could also do half steamed and half grilled, if you prefer. Our waiter said it pretty much tastes the same either way. The plates came out pretty quickly and we started to devour. The lobster was meaty and I was definitely filled up when the sides were added to the mix. As I ate and looked around, I was seriously in awe of how something so simple not only exists but thrives. There are other locations throughout the city and we saw one being built not even a five minute walk away. Why stop at Burger & Lobster? I'm thinkin' Ribs & Tacos, Chicken & Lechon, Bratwurst & Steak... Combinations are endless! read more

Burger & Lobster is an overall good place with a fun twist. Decor & Atmosphere: 4 stars- overall plan but simplistic. Clean. Doesn't really give you an idea of what your in for but I like simple. Having the bar stools at the front is smart, plenty of seating for people waiting and having the menu ready allows you to kill some time before you get seated as it's often busy. Probably getting in the door early is better for a place like this. Service: 5 stars- despite the wait everyone was friendly and we were seated reasonably quick. Our waitress was lovely, very helpful, & friendly. She gave us a great suggestion on cocktails and was on her way. I felt they moved quickly and once your seated your in and out. Food: 4 stars- overall good. I'm a fan of a more upscale traditional lobster tail. But the medium/large char grilled lobster tail was pretty fabulous. The garlic butter on the side is the way to go and shoestring fries you can't go wrong. Overall filling and tasty. I will say 9/10 had lobster opposed to a burger so I think the lobster is the way to go. Their cocktails here are the BOMB! The shared drinks are fun and delicious. The strawberry goblet (can't remember the legit name) was out of this world. Girly but definitely had the right amount of booze. I say treat yourself and go for it. Overall this place is fun, simplistic, good food, and a fresh idea. I can see why it's so popular. Worth trying at least once. read more

Ding coming to burger & lobster was one of the best decision i made during my trip to the UK. although the place was small and there's a long wait. it was totally worth it every bit!!!! ordered: *a cheeseburger which comes with fries-20 pounds honestly i don't think it was the best burger i've had but it definitely was not bad at all. the fries was amazing!! i couldn't stop eating those little suckers! *a lobster roll with the garlic butter sauce which comes with fries-20 pounds-heaven oh heaven in every bite! definitely delicious and they are not stingy on the lobster. so definitely worth every hard earn penny. let's just say it was so good that a friend ordered another one to share with my husband. if you're coming with others its okay to share/split that way you can try a little bit of everything. burger and lobster has only 3 items on their menu. what we didn't order was the lobster which you'll get to wear a cute little bib. they use the same lobster on the lobster roll so i didn't feel like i missed out on much. plus saved me the time of cracking and peeling to eat my food. each item on their food menu is 20 pounds. which in the US equals $40 for each item. my party and i didn't have much expectations but when we found out that it was 20 pounds per item we were like it better be good. surprisingly the four of us enjoyed every bite. for the rest of our UK trip we kept thinking about how good the lobster roll was. tips: *restroom is located all the way in the back. separated by gender. *cash and credit card accepted *3 food items on the menu *serves alcohol *small seating area for waiting. *you can provide your phone number and they will call you when a table is ready. *indoor seating only. read more

Coming from Florida that has amazing local fresh seafood I was a little apprehensive to try the lobster here as I was afraid I would not like it as much as the stuff I get at home. I am happy to say I loved it and I had the best lobster roll sandwich I have ever had here. Came with a group of 4 and all of us loved the food. Wait was about 10 minutes and once seated service was good and quick. Place is a bit pricey but they give you a generous amount of fresh lobster so I thought it was well worth the price. Lobster is placed in a home made bun that was toasted and buttered to perfection. The thing that puts this place over the edge is the garlic butter they use. It is not like the see through flavorless butter you get in the states. This one was creamy and delicious and the perfect thing to add to the sandwich to take it from great to amazing. Fries and salad that come with meal were both great too. The one thing I felt a bit ripped off on was the drink. We ordered the award winning drink they have (don't remember name, something fizzy) and they filled the cup over with huge ice cubes in a tiny glass so even though glass looked full it was about 4 sips at 12 pounds which was just way too much for the size of the drink. We did not order anymore drinks when we saw their ice cube trick they use to give less product to customer. Stick to the food and avoid the cocktails and you will have a great meal! read more

This review is just about the The Original Burger: "This tastes like an foreign interpretation of a gourmet American burger" Patty 2/5: VERY THICK...too thick! Bun 4/5: Thick firm sesame bun. The sesames did not help the taste of the burger Size & Structure 2/5: This is not a one bite burger.. strategy is needed to eat this thing. Accents 2/5: Tomatos, pickles, bacon lettuce... everything is thick. It's also served with a nice healthy serving of french fries. Price: $16. Final note: The burger is filling, but felt like it was missing some refinement. It seemed like they simply made a giant burger with reliable ingredients. read more
