The reason I say this is that we came the other night and my daughter played in the splash pad while we ate our ice cream. Today it was sunny and 83 degrees and our daughter had been begging us for Dairy Queen so we thought we would come to our then-favorite location. We drive up and the splash pad is on but when we walk up we notice that the gate is locked. We asked inside if they could unlock the gate and they initially said "no because of covid"...when that clearly wasn't the case a couple days ago. We told them that we were just here the other day and the splash pad was open. A teenage employee then said he would "go check." He came back a couple minutes later and notified us that the health department allegedly told them they could put the fountain on for the splash pad but not open the gate? How do you explain this to a three year old? The water is on hunny but it's just for looking at...?! Why even turn it on? That is just cruel.

Even still, I really enjoyed the gyro. Hot dog- They call them "Jays" and there are a lot of ingredient options. I went with mustard and chili. This is obviously why the place is called Jay's Famous HOT DOGS. This is the way to go! The hot dog was great. The chili had an awesome taste: kinda smokey and peppery. The bun was very fresh too which was unexpected to be honest. On future visits, I will definitely just get hot dogs! Fries- Fresh cut. There was basically no salt so I had to add quite a bit. They may have been just a little undercooked too. However, I still thought they were good and had no problem eating all of them. The girls behind the counter did a great job but I did see more than a few people wait 10+ minutes for their food. The Haddock had a nice coating that was seasoned with a little black pepper that gave it a tasty kick. The menu for this Sunday is your choice of a Swiss Steak dinner or a Creamed Chicken over Biscuit dinner. I met Jim, the owner, and he told me that has been in the restaurant business for 34 years. This DQ (née Dairy Queen) is in the food court of the southbound / eastbound Glacier Hills service plaza. Fast cheerful service, and plenty of tables. And there is apparently another DQ on the other side of the highway, too, in the Mahoning service plaza.

About 15 minutes. My food was finished and so I took it back to my vehicle to eat. I pulled my telephone out and turned on a streaming service to watch a television show while I was eating. Now here comes the kicker! Right when I got to the last bite of the food, did I feel a filling from my stomach up to my throat? It took me about 15 minutes to get to that last bite but before the last bite, I dropped the food open the door jumped out of the vehicle , and to my surprise, I was standing outside of the vehicle for 25 minutes regurgitating the food that I just eaten on to the ground! So I highly do not recommend this dairy queen to anybody for any reason at any time! Do not I repeat do not go to this Dairy Queen to get anything to eat as far as food wise to ice cream may be OK but I would not know because I didn't order any ice cream .
