We had an issue with ordering from the kiosk (DO NOT click print your receipt because you will not get it to check your order) and there was only one helpful staff member (thank you Alissa for being the only kind individual during this interaction). There was a server Jason as well as a manager Emma who were very rude and EXTREMELY unhelpful saying that they were "too busy" to SPEAK with their customers who just paid for 9 meals. All we asked was to have a sign posted to say that receipts cannot be printed on the kiosks and Emma said that it "was not her call" to do so (as a a manager) and instead challenged my mom to call corporate. The staff was pointing fingers and being passive about remediating the issue. The cohesion is lacking in this branch and it is not helpful for business. We understand that you are all busy. My parents, siblings, and I work as well. Learn how to speak to your customers kindly and please take constructive criticism instead of immediately asking us to call corporate for you. read more

I think this plaza is newly reconstructed, as the one on the westbound side has been demolished. This makes the third Panera on the stretched between Detroit and DC. I never get a made-to-order meal here. I always get a scone and a cup of British Breakfast tea; easy to eat and drive snack. They don't put out 2% milk on the service counter (only half an half and 1%). However, they have it behind their counter and will gladly give you some for your beverage. There is plenty of seating in the shared area, and Panera offers free WiFi. read more

It took us quite a long time to get through the line. Kind of expected at Panera because you are asked a lot of questions, but this time seemed different. And it definitely was. We placed our order. It was apparently keyed in incorrectly and was read back wrong. We corrected it and moved on. However, we waited and waited and waited.......and kept waiting for our food and it wasn't coming out. People far behind us were receiving their food and we were not. Turns out, they lost our order. We showed them the receipt and they gave us our order after waiting some time again. I would absolutely avoid stopping here. Even the manager (Angela) is terrible at resolution. Her response to our incomplete order was our bus driver should let them know when a large group is arriving so they're better prepared - best part? There was no bus there when we ordered and we were not part of a bus. She just automatically assumed and when I let her know, she had zero resolution or response. It starts from the top down - if the restaurant has terrible management (which this one obviously does) then the team will be just as terrible. The team was annoyed and frustrated when we stopped and we decided to go anyway (despite reviews). Lesson learned. Hi Maggie, unfortunately we ran out of croutons while serving your bus. We have to bake them fresh so we couldn't just grab more. I know the girl passing out the orders was telling people that we were out and asking if people wanted wonton strips or tortilla strips instead, I apologize if she forgot to ask you. I love these rest area Paneras when I'm on the road! Convenient and most of the time it is the same quality food as their free standing restaurants. Today, on 03/19/2019 as I headed South on I-76 Ohio Turnpike toward D.C. I stopped here for lunch and I did not expect such of quality service as I received. The lady at the register was quick and friendly, by the time I paid for everything my order was ready to go, very impressive! On the top of that my Coffee Latte was one of the best I recently had! The espresso was perfect size and quality in it and not spared out of it as my morning experience was with Starbucks today. The service staff was very slow and not aware of the options for the menu items. They were out of several things. Cheese types. Bread types. The sandwich came as two separate small sandwiches instead of one with very low quality wheat bread sold as whole grain. The tuna salad was a small blob the didn't even fill half of the sandwich. Tons of Mayo and red onion on the turkey sandwich which wasn't asked for and no pickles which was asked for. Panera used to be a high quality offering. The Panera inside Glacier Hills Service Plaza is pretty good. Initially, the staff member at the counter acted pretty confused and told us to hold on while he ran to get someone else. We had to wait a few minutes, and it was all a bit disorganized. But they did have what we wanted to order, unlike a lot of Panera locations that are always out of various items. The food was good, and it was convenient that this was inside the service plaza so we could grab it quick without getting off the interstate. I'm not a huge fan of fast food, so I was happy to have the option of getting Panera. Overall, this is a good option if you're traveling nearby and need to grab a quick bite to eat. read more

Terrible. What is happening to Panera? Chicken noodle soup was mostly flavorless broth. They wouldn't allow me to order just a turkey and Swiss, so I ordered the turkey avocado. Asked for no avocado. Of course, it came with avocado that was like a piece of cardboard. The turkey was awful chunks that looked like leftover scraps. Strawberry lemonade that we ordered ended up being some kind of smoothie. I only gave it two stars instead of one because they seem to have good covid precautions. One of the reasons I love the service plazas on the Ohio turnpike are that they are chock full of Panera restaurants which are such a nice alternative to Mickey D's or Burger Kings! This particular plaza has an express Panera that is open 24 hours a day and serves breakfast items round the clock-including their yummy breakfast sandwiches. My bf and I stopped here for breakfast around 11am and ordered two sandwiches (the egg,ham, and cheese for him and the turkey sausage, egg white, and spinach for me). They were pipping hot and ready within 5-7 minutes. The turkey sausage was very flavorful and the spinach and tomato were fresh. This was a quick stop for breakfast and I'd recommend this option to anyone who is hungry and in a hurry. read more

I have been on the road all day, and wanted some sour dough bread. Went in a few minutes after nine pm , and was told sorry we donated all the bread already. My question is then why are you even open?? I went to Panera's in California and Washington, and never had a problem. I knew they donated, but it was after they closed. On a recent trip from DC to MI we stopped at PA/Ohio state line rest stop. We had some sliced red peppers to eat and thought some hummus would be an added bonus to our lunch. We stopped at the Panera counter and asked if they had hummus they could sell us as a side. The cashier told us of a few kinds they put in salads and on sandwiches but didn't seem confident in her knowledge of the menu. We asked again about getting hummus on-the-side. She took a few moments to ask her co-workers on the sandwich line and then let us know she was going to the back to ask her manager. Once the manager/shift supervisor (unfortunately we do not remember her name) came out to assist, she was very knowledgeable and offered us black bean, spicy cilantro and curried lentil. We appreciated the above and beyond service of the shift supervisor in accommodating our out-of-the-ordinary request. read more

This is a review of the Panera at the rest stop in OH along East bound I-76 just before reaching the PA border. Portions were exceptionally small and had the"reheated in a microwave" taste. The kids' meals were a tremendous waste of resources. If you can stomach the options, just eat a hotdog at DQ. read more

Panera is A-OK. No complaints here. My family loves Panera, and we eat there regularly, so we were excited when we saw Panera at this service plaza on the Ohio Turnpike. It's a full-blown Panera, too, not one of those mini-places you find at some other rest stops. read more
