They have a great selection of breakfast, entrees and sandwiches with more sides and desserts than anyone in the area. We got the Thompsonville Breakfast and the Open-Faced Roast Beef Dinner. The entree's come with two sides. I got the loaded baked potato which came loaded with bacon, mixed cheeses, butter and sour cream and fresh fried okra which is so much better than Cracker Barrel. The roast beef dinner came with roast beef and gravy flowing over mashed potatoes on toast. I added a grilled onion topper for 50 cents more which was a nice add. The breakfast was everything you would expect with crispy bacon and eggs made to order. The grits came in the extremely large mug that was a meal in and of itself. There was a massive dessert menu of pies, pastries and ice-creams - many of which are home made including some local pies like White pie and Millionaire pie. We had to have the white pie and strawberry shortcake - See photos. The strawberry shortcake was very interesting in that there was homemade crumbled pie crust on the bottom covered with candied strawberries, whipped cream and fine pie crust crumbles on top. Great crunchy and creamy texture. The service was prompt, with two different dining rooms where you choose cozy or more open with larger tables and you pay at the counter. The restaurant is very successful and has opened another restaurant in Benton and another opening in West Frankfort on Main St. We will definitely be returning on Sunday's after church for more down-home goodness
