Time for a nice dinner to finish a long day. Morello's is a pizza, pasta, steak joint in downtown Harrisburg. Met by a maitre'd and promptly seated. Some of the best service I've had in a long time. Complimentary bread was warm and terrific. Had a Caesar salad and it came with dressing on the side. Just a smart thing to do, and it was a freshly made sauce as far as I could tell. I sprang for the Nia's sausage and spinach tortellini, one of the specialties. Quite a nice dish. Very rich cream sauce, slightly spiced with some red pepper, I think. Made what would be an otherwise indistinguishable dish quite distinguished. Good stuff. Very comprehensive menu with some really unique items. Finished with the chocolate cake a la mode. Huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Decent finish to a nice meal. I would give a steady four stars to Morello's, but the terrific service and excellent value make a fifth star an easy reach. I got a lot of pretty good food for a pretty reasonable price. This is a nice, local place I'd be happy to visit again. read more

Seating was extremely slow. Waitress was also very slow. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks. We got our pizza just a few minutes after. It looked and smelled fantastic but the dough was raw. Manager made us a new one but it had the same issue and didn't have half the toppings the first one did. We ordered the Cadillac. I think they need to partially cook the dough first. We came here for the Kendell Marvel concert and sat in the back area. They weren't allowing food orders in that room so we had to place a to go order and then bring it to the back room. The order took about 50 mins which I didn't Mind since it was VERY busy that night. We ordered a burger, breaded mushrooms and the pulled pork mac n cheese. Everything was cold except for the pulled pork Mac and cheese. The breaded mushrooms were 90% breading. Not sure why they slice them but I would not order those again. The burger was okay but the bun seemed old (fries were extremely cold, uneatable). The pulled pork and Mac and cheese was very good! Would I eat here again, maybe. My family went here for the first time ever. The food was absolutely fantastic, steller, superb. Compliments to the cook. But the service was a Zero from the start. Madyson M. was our server. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before anyone came to help us. 5 minutes into our wait Madyson looked at me and gave me a nasty look. 5 minutes later she arrived and places silverware, napkins and plates on the table. I asked her if she could please clean the table from the prior guests. Her response to me was "well you shouldn't have sat down, we seat people here." There was no one to seat us in those 10 minutes. Misses had to go ask for silverware and bread after being promised both items by waiter. Bread was cold, after an hour, food arrived. Third visit to Morellos. I have family attending SIC so we are up here visiting often. So far Morello's has been solid food wise. This trip my wife and I both had the portobello ravioli and our daughter had her usual Cajun Chicken pasta. We had the ravioli with a Alfredo sauce and were pleasantly surprised. The sauce was delicious. It was a Saturday and at lunch and the restaurant was very busy. We had to sit in the bar where there was only the lone server trying to keep up with drinks and service several tables so she was stressed but still did a good job. The salads were small but green and had bell pepper and cherry tomatoes this go around so that was nice. Food was solid and service was acceptable. Since this is the best place we have found so far in Harrisburg we will be back when in town. read more

I stumbled across Morello's by chance online and we decided to give it a try and we were so happy that we did! The waitstaff was friendly and awesome, the manager checked in with us at least once, the restaurant and restrooms were clean, and the food was amazing! I had the portabella Ravioli in browned butter sauce, my husband had the Manicotti with Alfredo, and our 18 year old had the Cajun pasta. Needs some work but with the right chef this could really be something. It almost looked like a pre packed meal with the sauce only on 1 side and not even mixed into the noodles. This is one of my father in law's favorite place to eat in Harrisburg. He likes the food and we usually see people he knows. We often sit outside due to his mobility problems. We especially enjoy the live music evenings. Because he has health problems we often seat him and then go in to tell someone we are there. If we get Whitney we know we will be served promptly and efficiently. Last Friday Dad (a diabetic) was eating sugar packets by the time our food arrived. 4 tables near us came in later, were served sooner, were checked on often and left (Whitney's tables). Upon going in to check on our waitress, I watched Whitney waiting several tables inside. We will continue to come back because this seldom happens. Hopefully just an unlucky evening. This is probably the most popular restaurant in Harrisburg by far. It's always packed during lunch and for good reason. Their pizza and salad buffet is always good with three different pizzas and a mix of other snacks. It's not the world's greatest buffet, but it sure gets the job done. The interior underwent a major renovation in the past year and now features new booths and a more intimate atmosphere. I have never been here for dinner or have been able to use the outdoor (heated) patio. The food is usually pretty good and the potato soup was an instant favorite. We did have issues with the chicken tenders being undercooked today and the pasta options were not that appetizing. The pizza was great however when it was in stock.
