A quartet of Burger King reviews (3 of 4 - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain)
I don't know what it is, but Spain certainly likes its Burger Kings. I recall seeing more of them than I do McDonald's. I don't know if that's quantifiable or selective perception.
The menu at this - and other Spanish Burger King locations - is much like the one in the U.S. except that there are additional items that seem geared to Spanish tastes. I chose from the known and conventional list of foods known to Americans, albeit a simpler charbroiled burger and not a Whopper, and it was true to BK form, not to mention fairly tasty.
The service was very good. I've noticed that fast food employees in Southern Europe tend to me more helpful and polite than their American counterparts.
This Burger King is inside a waterside shopping center that is more vertical and compact. Here, the food court, including this Burger King, has available exterior patios that look out onto the port ... and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is certainly a port teeming with activity, both for cruise ships and commercial vessels. This shopping center is easy to find. It's next to Parque Santa Catalina where the isthmus-like downtown of Las Palmas necks down to a few blocks spanning from the port to its urban beach of Playa de las Canteras. Everything about this Burger King is very good, but its location and the views available while eating make it memorable. read more
