We had high hopes for this one...and came out fairly disappointed.
It was a Sunday and we headed off the highway to stop at IKEA but of course it was closed so food was next on the agenda. We had seen Canary Wok from the highway before and were quite eager to try it. Sunday prices were up on the wall; about 15 euro for adults (more expensive than any other Chinese style buffet we have been to). I thought to myself before I reached the top level, that the food better be worth it.
The employees were very nice even though there was a triangle language barrier. I asked for a high chair for my son and that was the first inclination of what we were about to have a problem with...cleanliness. Our waiter was trying to scrub down the high chair for a good minute before he brought it to the table; still it was dingy, and just looked gross. My boyfriend noticed that there were flies everywhere and I totally understood why. An enormous amount of food was sitting out when we arrived; the restaurant wasn't even busy yet. Usually buffets only make what is needed at the time, so the food can be fresher, but not this place. Full blown presentations were out for every single dish and yet none of the dishes were fresh. The food was ok, but nothing to die for and nothing was hot, just like warm. The sushi was basic although my salmon sashimi was perfectly fatty and delicious.
Overall, we probably won't be going back though because my other half has a problem with unclean things and I have a problem with paying too much for something that isn't worth the price. read more
